It’s Mother’s Day in Australia on Sunday the 13th of May so here’s wishing all the mums a very happy mother’s day…may your kids always give you a reason to smile..!!
Today I’m sharing a cute card with adorable mama n baby elephants…and I was super happy with myself when I got the idea to put a crown on the mama’s head…also I tried out an ink extracting technique I learnt from a tutorial recently shared by Chanin where she used a chamois cloth to create a pattern on a distress/oxide ink blended background…so easy…
After I die cut the background panel and the die cut meadow border,I covered them with various distress and oxide inks,I lifted some of the ink with a lightly wet stamp shammy..I loved the texture it creates but I think this technique would work really great with dark colours…I added some die cut birch trees to the front panel and then adhered it to a plain white card base…I also stamped some grass using green ink on the meadow border and adhered it to the card with some craft foam for a bit of dimension..
I stamped, coloured in and cut out the elephant images and adhered them to the card front and then added the die cut and stamped sentiment just above…to embellish my cards I have used a lot of clear confetti sequins as well as some Nuvo glaze on the elephants for a bit of shine..
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my card today…Have a wonderful weekend…Happy crafting…!!
