I have loved making cards ever since I was a young girl. Little did I know, when I was making cards with paper, paint, crayons and even mum's lace and sequin supplies that I would keep enjoying this hobby later in life. The cardmaking/paper crafting women and men all over the world are absolutely inspirational and have created this great community which I'm lucky to be a part of.

Same Stamp Set, Different Colouring Mediums

For my first post for 2021, I’m sharing three cards in which I have used three different Altenew colouring mediums…the stamp, die and stencil bundle I used is also from Altenew – Simple Roses…let me know which card you liked the most..

My first card has a die cut background using Altenew Snowflake Stars Cover B…to make the die cut background stand out a bit, I used cream cardstock….I stamped and heat embossed the flowers and then coloured them in using Altenew Water Colour Brush Markers…I also added some shimmer once the images were dry…the sentiment is from Altenew Label Love stamp set…

For my second card I tried out the new Altenew Watercolor Pencils…if the colouring looks patchy, it’s because of my inability to use them properly…I added the coloured and die cut images to front of my card on which I have lightly sponged the edges with wild honey Distress Ink…I stamped the sentiment from Altenew Balloon Bunch stamp set on a pink cardstock and die cut it using a circle die…I layered it with a black cardstock to make the sentiment pop..

The third card was very quick to make…I stamped the images on white cardstock and then used the coordinating stencil and ripe persimmon Distress Ink to colour in the flowers….I re-stamped the images using my MISTI and then die cut them…I splattered some black paint on my card front before adhering the images…the sentiment is from Altenew Birthday Builder stamp set and once stamped, I die cut it using the Altenew Featured Sentiments Die set…

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today…hope you will have a creative day ahead…

Yeti Christmas!

I’m sharing two slimline Christmas cards today…both feature the MFT Die-namics Christmas Lights with the Beast Friends stamp set…I like how the Christmas Lights die set fills up the card front quite easily and looks great too…

I used Distress Oxide inks on a green cardstock front panel for my first card….I splattered some water and some silver paint for effect and then added the die cut elements and the stamped and coloured in images…the sentiment is from a Taylored Expression stamp set called Simple Strips – Christmas..

My second card is much simpler…I added the die cut Chirstmas lights to a black front panel and then added the Yeti image…I stamped the sentiment in black and red ink and then added some rhinestones to embellish my card…the sentiment I have used is from the Merry & Bright stamp set by MFT…

Thank you so much for visiting my blog…stay safe and have a happy and crafty day ahead..!!

Pretty Poinsettias Christmas Cards

My favorite die set for Christmas cards this year has been the Poinsettia 3D die set by Altenew…I have made so many cards with this die…for a couple of cards I used coloured cardstock to simply die cut and put together and for others, I chose to watercolour the die cuts…

All my cards have a stripy backgrounds which I chose to provide a bit of interest but at the same time to make the poinsettia flowers stand out on my cards…

I have used Distress Inks and Oxide Inks to colour in the background stripes for these two cards…I heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock using Altenew Antique Gold embossing powder and then die cut it out using the Featured Sentiments die set…to embellish these cards I have added a few gold confetti sequins..

Now these next two cards were fun and quick to make…once I had the 3D die cut elements coloured using the Altenew Watercolor brush markers, I splattered some white paint on them for effect….I used dark green front panels for the background and to add interest, I simply painted a few stripes using some gold watercolour and a wide brush..

I put the flowers together and adhered them to the card front and then added the gold heat embossed sentiment which is from Clearly Besotted Happy Everything stamp set..

I’m happy you stopped by my blog today….hope you will have a happy and blessed day!

Let It Snow Somewhere Else!

As the end of the year approaches in Australia, we get ready for the summer as well as for Christmas…I loved using the Aussie Christmas stamp set by Uniquely Creative to create this card…

I kept things simple and splattered some black paint on the front panel of my card and then added the coloured in and die cut images to the card front…I stamped the sentiments using red ink and then backed the sentiment strips with a red cardstock so they would be easily visible on my card..

Hope you liked this card…have a happy and creative day ahead..!!

Bright Peonies Birthday Cards

These large peony flowers stamped using the Altenew build-a-flower Peony Layering stamp and die set were super quick to stamp and I had two cards ready in no time at all…

I have used various shades of coral and yellow crisp inks for the flowers and greens for the leaves…I used the Altenew Essential Black & White paper pack to create the front panels of my cards and added the die cut elements…

I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Sentiment Strips stamp set and then die cut them using the Featured Sentiments die set and adhered them over the flowers…I have used a few rhinestones to embellish my cards..

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today…have a happy and crafty day ahead..!!

Cards For Old Friends!

Friends who stick by you for a lifetime and get/share/willingly suffer your sense of humour without ever taking offence are the best kind of friends I think…and this is exactly what I was thinking when I was making this set of cards using the MFT BB Old Friends stamp set…

Once all the images from the stamp set were stamped and coloured in, I die cut them using the coordinating dies and started creating the various backgrounds on the front panel of my cards…for this first card I have used the Pinkfresh Studio Pop Out Nested Diamond stamp set and inks..

For my second card, I have used spun sugar Distress Ink with MFT Window Panes stencil..

My third card uses Distress Oxide inks with the Triangles stencil by Pretty Pink Posh on a coloured cardstock front panel…

And for my last card, I used the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrop die and inked the edges with some tea dye Distress Ink..

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today…hope you liked my cards…Have a happy and crafty day ahead..!!

Daisy And Tulip Slimline Cards

I just love the beautiful dimensional flowers that can be created using the Altenew Craft-a-flower dies…it took me no time at all to create these slimline cards using the Craft-a-flower Daisy and Craft-a-flower Tulip dies…

I created the background for both the cards using Dixtress Oxide inks on coloured cardstock front panels…for the Daisy card, I die cut all the layers of flowers and leaves and coloured them in using Altenew watercolor brush markers and once dry I glued them and placed them on my card front…

For the tulip card, I used various Altenew gradient cardstock sets to die cut the various layers and then added them to the cad front…the sentiments on both are are from the Altenew Birthday Builder stamp set..

So happy you stopped by my blog today…thank you…have a wonderful day ahead…!!

Funny Emu Birthday Card

I absolutely loved the goofy looking Emu in the Aussie Christmas stamp set by Uniquely Creative and wanted to make a funny birthday card using this image…

I used the Mama Elephant Slim Film City die set to die cut the film strip and the panel behind it…I coloured the background green and added the three coloured in and die cut images of the emu in the film strip…

I then stamped the Anything-but-Basic Birthday Wishes by My Favorite Things and added it to the card front…I have used some Nuvo glaze and few die cut hearts to embellish my card…

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today…hope you will have a happy and sunshiny day ahead…
