Wishing You The Best Day Ever

Every now and then I like to make cards in which I don’t use black at all…and today I wanted to try a card using soft colours from Distress Oxide inks…I really like these inks because they are so versatile…they are a fusion of dye and pigment inks so you can blend, stamp, heat emboss etc…they are fast becoming my favorites…

For a plain white card base,I chose a white top layer as well and used a stencil and Distress oxide inks to print the pattern on the top layer…I first used worn lipstick and then moved the stencil a bit before using cracked pistachio oxide ink to print the same pattern again and adhered this panel onto the card base…

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the flowers using worn lipstick oxide ink and the leaves using cracked pistachio ink…I used a water brush on some sections of these flowers and leaves to pull in the ink to colour those sections…I then cut them out and adhered them on the card front…

I stamped the sentiment on a small white label using cracked pistachio ink and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder…I layered it with a green glitter cardstock and adhered it near the top of my card..

And finally to embellish my card I have used a few pink and green sequins…and now when I look at my completed card,I think it is more of a ‘two colour card’ rather than a card with no black elements…

Thank you so much for taking the time and visiting my blog today…Have a wonderful day ahead…Happy crafting..!!

Time Out Challenge #94

Today I’m sharing a card that I have created as my entry for Time Out Challenge #94…we have been given a picture for inspiration and the DT had been very creative as usual creating the most gorgeous cards for this challenge…I am always so amazed by the unique creations shared in this challenge…

This is the image provided for the current challenge…I decided to use the three colours – white, orange and brown – as well the underwater theme for my card…

I started by die cutting the front panel using a large stitched rectangle die and then used a stitched rectangle window die to create the window in the middle of this panel…
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and die cut the fishes and the plant…I also die cut a small rectangular piece and used the snowfall die to create a bubbles kind of pattern in the background…I applied some salty ocean Distress Ink on this panel and spritzed some water on it…I also added a silver foil paper behind it…

Before adhering all the element to the top panel,I stamped the sentiment using Altenew autumn blaze ink and then assembled all the elements on the top panel which I then adhered to a plainw hite card base…
I did not use any embellishments on this card as I wanted to keep it clean and simple, but I did add a bit of shine to the fishes by using my Spectrum Noir glitter pen…

Two Long Cards – Congrats & Celebrate

Hydrangeas are one of my favorites and I can’t wait to see them bloom this summer….till then I’m quite happy to make cards with Hydrangeas stamps….the cards I’m sharing today are 4″x7&1/4″ and were the perfect size to fill up with a lot of flower images…especially the Garden Hydrangeas stamps because usually I’m only able to add no more than two of those images in a standard size card…

I used a textured purple cardstock to create the card base for my first card….I the cut watercolour cardstock to size for the front panel and stamped the Hydrangea flowers and leaves using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using some white embossing powder….

I painted them in with my watercolour pens and a waterbrush using blue and purple shades as these are the colours of the Hydrangeas that grow in my home… once the panel was dry,I adhered it to the card base…

I die cut the word ‘congrats’ from purple glitter cardstock as well as purple craft foam and layered them together before adhering them to the card front…but before I did that I stamped the rest of the sentiment using purple dye ink..

I also adhered a scalloped border at the base of my card which I die cut from the same purple glitter cardstock as the sentiment…I added a few clear Nuvo drops to embellish my card…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I will be entering this card in the latest Flower Challenge #13 who are currently celebrating their 1st birthday…the prizes are amazing for this challenge and prizes 1,4,5 or 6 would be my choice if I am lucky enough to win..
For my second card I chose a dark pink textured cardstock to create the card base and a smaller front panel from white cardstock…
I used the Beautiful Day layering stamp set from Altenew and covered the front panel with the images by masking and re-stamping the same flowers..I used Altenew crisp dye inks for stamping these images…for the flowers I have used cotton candy, coral berry and purple wine shades and for the leaves and other smaller images I simply coloured them in using my alcohol markers…

For the sentiment,I die cut the word celebrate 3 times from the same cardstock as the card base and layered them up before adhering it to the card front…I then applied some glossy accents on top of this die cut for a bit of shine…and finally I added rhinestones in various sizes to embellish my card…

Scrapbook Boutique October 2017 Challenge -Three Cards

For this month’s challenge over at The Scrapbook Boutique Blog,I started with two ideas(as usual – just in case)…but while I was making my first card,I left my supplies out coz I had another idea pop up in my head…so after I made my second card,I started the third one which took just under 10 mins to create…

This is the moodboard for this month and I loved creating cards for the pink and gold theme..
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

For my first card I die cut the front panel from watercolour cardstock…I then used the Altenew watercolor strips stencil to create the background for my card…once dry,I adhered this panel to a plain white card base…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a separate piece of white card cardstock,I stamped the flower and leaf images using picked raspberry Distress Oxide ink and then heat embossed the images using clear embossing powder…I then used my water brush and coloured in the images with the same shade of Distress Oxide ink I used for stamping…I did not want to use green for the leaves and stems so I used nuvo mousse to colour them gold…

After I die cut all the images,I adhered them onto my card front…I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a small label and adhered it just above the flowers…and finally,to embellish my card I have used lots of Nuvo jewel drops…

I have a whole lot of Azaleas in full bloom in my garden these days and my favorite one is the deep pink one which I can see from my craft room window..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

My second card has a paisley gold embossed background…these stamps are from Simon Says Stamp Henna Patterns stamp set and I have coloured them in using a light pink aquarelle brush pen and my water brush..I have used picked raspberry Distress Oxide ink to lightly sponge the edges of my front panel and then adhered it to the card base…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

For the sentiment I die cut the words ‘wish’ and ‘big’ from gold foil cardstock as well as pink craft foam using two different die sets and adhered them onto my card front..and to embellish my card I have used gold star sequins…

While I was writing this post,I \noticed that the dot of the ‘i’ has rolled over in the second picture…thankfully it was still in the card so I could adhere it back…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Now to my third card…it was inspired by the image of the pink teacups with the gold rims in the moodboard..and since this idea came to me while I was making the first card,I used all the same supplies for it…

I cut a watercolour cardstock panel for the card front and sponged in the edges using picked raspberry Distress Oxide ink…I spritzed some water for effect and then splattered some nuvo mousse, making sure to leave the centre part of the panel clear for the sentiment and the tea cup…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder and then adhered this panel to a white card base…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the teacup with picked raspberry oxide ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder…I used the same ink and gold mousse to colour in the image and then cut it out and placed it under the sentiment using adhesive craft foam..
This card did not need any embellishments so I used my Spectrum Noir glitter pen over the teacup iamge for a bit of shine…

Pretty Pansies For Altenew October 2017 Inspiration Challenge

For this month’s Altenew inspiration challenge, there were three soft colours and a beautiful card by Lydia Evans to get inspired by…I am usually quite reluctant to use light colours so this was actually quite a challenge for me…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
Here is the beautiful inspiration card and colours…

I wanted my card to be slightly larger than my usual A2 size to accommodate the design properly so I created a card base that was 4&1/4″ x 6″….I then created the front panel from watercolour cardstock on which I applied water first then randomly added Gansai Tambi watercolours in green, light pink and gold shades…once dry,I cut it to size and adhered it to my card front…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the Altenew Pretty Pansies layering stamp using Altenew crisp dye inks…for the flowers I have used coral berry, cotton candy and peach perfect and gold heat embossed the top layers and for the leaves I used parrot, bamboo and forest glades shades and decided not to add gold heat embossing on them…I cut these flowers and leaves out with my scissors as I didn’t want a white border around them…
I then used the coordinating dies and die cut the flowers and leaves from gold foil cardstock which I have embossed using the Darice polka dot embossing folder…and now that all the elements of my card were ready,I adhered them to my card front using glue and adhesive foam squares in various thickness to add some interest and depth…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
For the sentiment,I first used a mirror stamp to create a solid colour base for the labels..I used cotton candy and peach perfect here and heat embossed the sentiment on the top layer…and finally I added a few gold Nuvo drops to embellish my card…

I Need Your Hugs.Stat!

I loved the images from the Dogs stamp set by Katzelkraft…especially their expressions…so when I bought their Jungle Animal stamp set I was even more excited to used those images for my cards…I found the elephant image in this set really adorable with a sad face and looked like she/he really needed a cuddle or two…!!

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I first stamped some grass at the base of a  white panel…I used two shades of green for a bit of dimension…I wasn’t too confident at directly stamping and colouring the elephant image so I stamped and coloured it on a separate piece of white cardstock and then cut it out and placed it on the stamped grass…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I a die cut banner from same light grey cardstock as the card base and then stamped the sentiment on it using black and red ink..I adhered this banner in the middle of the front panel using some craft foam underneath…
I adhered the white panel to the grey card base and added a few silver Nuvo drops to embellish my card…

Lots Of Diwali Cards

In just about 10 days is the biggest Hindu festival of the year – Diwali – the festival of lights….and this year I got a couple of CrafTangles stamp sets and a stencil and created quite a few Diwali cards…I remember making Diwali cards as a young girl by simply drawing and colouring a large Diya (earthen oil lamp) or a few small ones on the card front…my drawing was never good and thankfully we can get stamps designed by talented artists these days….

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
For my first card,I stamped and coloured in this very beautiful Lord Ganesha image using Spectrum Noir markers and cut it out and started to create the card front…I used the Concord & 9th sunshine turnabout stamp and Distress Oxide inks to create the background…the shades of inks I have used are wilted violet, picked raspberry, seedless preserves and work lipstick…I also stamped the sentiment using black ink..
I die cut a frame from purple shimmer cardstock using pierced rectangle die and then adhered this as well as the Ganesha image to my card front and my card was ready…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I used a stencil to create my second card…but first I created the background on a white panel using Distress Oxide imks – fossilized amber and candied apple…I sprinkled a bit of water for effect and once dry,I stamped the sentiment using watermark ink and heat embossed it using some gold embossing powder…

I then placed the stencil on my front panel and used some Nuvo Indian Gold mousse to print the pattern onto my card..Once dry,I adhered this panel to a Kraft card base and adhered a few gold sequins to embellish it…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Now this third card is what reminded me of the Diwali cards I used to make as a little girl…I never thought I would be making a better version of them some day..ha ha..

I started by repeat stamping the oil lamps at the base of a white panel using vintage photo Distress Oxide ink which I quickly heat embossed using some clear embossing powder…I partially coloured in the lamps and then applied some squeezed lemonade Distress Ink at the top of the panel…

Using some gold foil cardstock and Altenew inline alpha dies,I die cut the word Diwali and stamped the word happy on a small gold banner and adhered these on the panel….I also adhered some yellow and brown sequins before adhering this panel to a Kraft card base…and as a final touch,I added a bit of glossy accents on the flames of the oil lamps…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I decided to make another card using the same oil lamp stamp and started by I  sponging some seedless preserves Distress Oxide ink around the edges of a white front panel…I also sprinkled some water for effect…

I stamped the oil lamp and a large Diwali sentiment stamp with some onyx black Versafine ink and heat embossed them with some clear embossing powder..I coloured in the oil lamp and the fairy lights and added some pink star sequins to embellish my card….

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

In the Craftangle Happy Diwali stamp set, there are two mandala/rangoli stamps which are really beautiful…so I used one of them to repeat stamp and create this somewhat modern card…I used salty ocean Distress Oxide ink for repeat stamping on the front panel and adhered it to a white card base…

Using some deep blue shimmer paper and mft alphabet dies,I die cut the word Diwali and then layered them with some blue craft foam die cut underneath before adhering them onto the card front…I stamped the word happy on a small white label and placed it above the die cut word…and finally I added a few tiny blue sequins to embellish my card…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Now my final card is very similar to my second card, but I wanted to see how my design would look in a bit bright colours and with the sentiment stamped in black…

I started by sponging in some candies apple and wild honey Distress Inks on the front panel and splattered a bit of water on it…I stamped the sentiment  at the top of the panel using black pigmenty ink and clear embossed it…I used a different image of Lord Ganesha from the stencil(it has 4 images) and used Nuvo Indian Gold mousse to print the image…once dry,I adhered this card to a Kraft cardstock card base…

I had clicked two pictures of each card and since it would be a bit too much for everyone to go through,so I made this slideshow of the rest of the pictures…

I’m sure you can tell how much fun I’ve had making these cards…Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today…Hope you will have a happy and crafty day ahead…and if you celebrate Diwali, then I wish you and your family a very Happy Diwali and a prosperous year ahead..!!

Time Out Challenge #93 – Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Friendship

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
The theme for the current challenge over at Time Out Challenges is also Breast Cancer Awareness and this time I have made quite a simple card for it…
I chose a textured pink cardstock for the top layer of my card and adhered it to my plain white card base…I then cut a white panel slightly smaller than the pink panel and stamped the sentiment on it using some picked raspberry Distress Oxide ink…I clear heat embossed it before adhering this panel to the card front…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the hearts from the Heart Confetti stamp set by Clearly Besotted…I used the same ink for this and clear heat embossed these heart images as well….I used the coordinating die to die cut these hearts and adhered them on the card front using some thin adhesive foam squares…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

Lastly,I cut a small strip of pink cardstock and shaped it into a ribbon shape before placing it just above the stamped sentiment…
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my card today….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!

Bloom Where You Are Planted

I used to paint stripy backgrounds for my cards myself….and a lot of the times I had to paint all over or even bin them coz the lines would be way more wonky than acceptable…ha ha…so when Altenew released this watercolor stripes stencil,I was so happy coz the background for the card I’m sharing today would’ve been unpredictable otherwise… 😊😀

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by cutting white cardstock to size for the front panel of my card and then used the stencil and Distress Inks to create the background..I used the following shades – wilted violet, carved pumpkin, twisted citron and hickory smoke…I also splattered a bit of water and quickly dabbed it with a paper towel…

Once dry,I stamped the sentiment using black ink and then adhered this panel to a white card base…

On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped and coloured in the cactus and pots from a Honey Bee Stamp set called Stick with me using Gansai Tambi watercolours…once dry,I cut them out and adhered them to the card front with some adhesive foam…

To embellish my card I have simply added some black Nuvo drops…
