Love And Adore You Card

When simple works…there is no need for complicated….and with that thought I started today’s card….there are no special techniques I have followed here…kept things plain and simple…
The card base is plain white and then I have an orange mat and a black top layer…I then stamped the Gorjuss mini stamp on vellum paper and coloured it in which I later attached to the back of a white rectangular die cut frame…
I also die cut the words ‘love & adore you’ from orange foil cardstock and adhered them on one side of the card and the frame on the other…
To decorate the card,I simply punched out a few hearts from orange foil cardstock and placed them around the image…and my simple card was ready…
Hope you liked it…

Card For An Online Friend

Thanks to the development of technology, the world feels like a small place…..and we are able to connect with a lot of people…some we had known in the past and some new ones whom we never met but are such awesome people that it is a pleasure to have them in out lives even though they’re just online friends….
This card is for all my friends – both the online ones and the real ones 🙂
Now a bit about the card…the card base is plain white with a blue mat layer….the top layer is white as well and I have stamped the computer, keyboard and mouse image directly onto the top layer….yep,I was feeling a bit brave 🙂
After colouring in the main image,I stamped the sentiment on the computer screen….I also stamped  a small leaf stamp quite a few times and decorated the card with a few blue rhinestones…
Hope you liked this card….

Watercolour Stamping Birthday Card

I love watching tutorials for craft/stamping techniques…and I get very excited when sometimes(just sometimes)my results are pretty close to the tutorial I was following to create my project…I try my very best not to ‘copy’ something as is….where’s the fun in that….
The card that I’m sharing today has been made by following a tutorial by Dawn on the Wplus9 Blog called Watercolor Stamping With Hand Doodling…Now I did skip the doodling part as I’m not very good at drawing of any sort….luckily I had the outline stamp for the stamp set I used and I didn’t have to doodle.. 🙂
I have created this card using the Stampin Up Balloon Celebration Stamp set as well as the coordinating punch to create masks easily…
In short, the technique is about using a solid stamp and dabbing a bit of distress ink on it and very little water to spread it around and then quickly stamping it onto the watercolor cardstock…Dawn used a black pen to doodle around and finish the images while I simply used stamps….
For the sentiment,I die cut the ‘Happy’ word from black glitter cardstock and created a banner to stamp the word ‘Birthday’ on it….and the card was ready….
Hope you liked this card….thanks for stopping by today…

Card For Creative Hands Friends FB Progressive Challenge #4

After posting my very first card using a digi image for a Facebook challenge & winning it,I was extremely excited(I won 3 awesome digi’s as a prize too!!)….and then a few days back I was asked to try out as a DT member for them….things are pretty great right now… 🙂

Before I start,I must thank Julie Curtis – for very patiently helping and guiding me and of course Michelle Kierznowski – the creator of all the wonderful digi’s and our sponsor…

The Facebook challenge runs for two weeks each which is ample time for you to create a project…A new challenge starts every other Tuesday and the current one started on the 26th of April so if you rush over and join our FB group – Cre8tive Hands Fans – you could participate in the latest challenge…the digi for the challenge is FREE….

I do hope you will join in and participate…it’s good fun….

So here’s my card for FB Progressive Challenge #4…..

I started with a blue card base and a white top layer…on the top layer I have stamped a striped border stamp repeatedly with blue ink to create a background…..I heat embossed the sentiment at the top using black heat embossing powder…

I then printed the challenge digi and coloured it in using Spectrum Noir Markers and cut it out…I placed that onto the top layer using large bits of adhesive foam…and finally I used clear sequins to decorate the card…

Hope you liked this card….Thanks for stopping by….

Green Leaves Thanks Card

I’m sharing a simple ‘Thanks’ card today…so I looked through my dies folders and found this die that I  have rarely used…it’s called Leafy Vine by QuiKutz….which was perfect for this card….
I started with a light earthy coloured card base and a plain black top layer…..Then I die cut two different shades of green card stock using the Leafy Vine die….the first one I die cut normally….but for the second one,I flipped the die cut back to front so that both the die cuts don’t look similar….I also shortened the length of the light green die cut….
Once the die cuts were adhered to the top layer,I punched a banner from gold cardstock and stamped the sentiment on it and adhere it near the top of the card….I have also used a few tiny sequins to decorate the card…
Hope you liked it…

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

I love creating shaker pockets for cards, bookmarks or tags….and today I’ve tried out a shaped shaker pocket for a card front…this time I’ve tried to be very neat so that I don’t have to cover up the edges with a frame or embellishments…which also means that this card is not bulky at all and can be posted as standard post…
I started with a bright pink card base and a bright green top layer….I then created the shaker pocket using the fuse tool and a photo sleeve pocket which I filled up with lots of bright sequins before sealing it at the top…
I then attached the fuse pocket to the top of the card and added a scalloped border strip from pink foil cardstock over it…I used the same foil card stock to punch out a circle for the stamped sentiment as well as the die cut scripty ‘Happy Birthday’ word and placed these on the card..
Just realised that I did not add the dot on the ‘i’ from the die cut….also known as a ‘tittle’….I’ll add it now but there is no time to re-shoot… 🙂
Hope you liked this card…

One Layer Cards

Today I’m sharing two cards with you….both are single layered ones and I’ve followed the tutorials printed in the latest issue I received of the Australian Cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft Magazine Vol. 22 No. 9

The first one is on Pg 56 by Cindi Gilfillian…..and she has taught how to mask a larger area on a card front and stamp on rest of the card….

I have used a plain white card base and used a shaped mask to cover one section of the card and then used a lot of large and small flower stamps and bright inks to cover the whole card….

Once the stamping was complete,I simply lifted the mask and stamped the large sentiment with bright red ink…I have also used clear sequins to decorate this card…

Now the second card I tried from this magazine is on Pg 44 by Linda Langes called Hedgehog Balloon….the idea of these cards is to have a plain card front with a bright and colourful scene inside…
I started with a plain white card base and die cut a balloon on the front and stamped a string and adhered the stamped, coloured in and fussy-cut image of a little boy….this die cut section would see through to the inside of the card…
On the inside,I stamped the balloon images with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder….I then covered the whole section with Mustard Seed distress ink…then to make it more colourful,I stamped flowers in various colours…
I die cut the word ‘happy’ from blue foil cardstock and stamped the word ‘birthday’ on red cardstock and placed it on the inside of the card and the card was ready….
I had a lot of fun making these cards and I hope you liked both of them…
Thanks for stopping by…

You’re The Best Card

I am always looking for ways to use black cardstock in an uncomplicated way as it often gives me a hard time somehow…I like it because it makes light colours and images stand out much better….
For today’s card I have used a plain white card base and the top layer is plain black…I used the stitched rectangle dies to create a frame from white cardstock…I stamped, coloured and cut out two flower images and placed it under the frame….then I adhered the frame right in the middle on top of the black top layer…
I also stamped, coloured in and cut out an image from Gorjuss mini stamps and placed it on top of the frame with the help of adhesive foam squares….the sentiment is stamped on yellow cardstock banner and I have added a few yellow sequins inside the frame to brighten up the card…
Hope you liked this card…Thanks for visiting my blog today…

Indian Themed Paisley & Watercolour Card

This paisley stamp is among the first few I bought when I was starting out…..and I love it and use it a lot….but I don’t think I have ever made a bright and colourful card like this one before using this stamp…reminds me of the hand printed scarves I had seen in Rajasthan,India…
The card base is plain bright blue and the top layer is made from Ranger watercolor paper….I first stamped the images randomly using Versamark ink and then heat embossed them using black embossing powder…once that was done,I coloured them all in with Peerless watercolors…
Next,I die cut the word ‘Happy’ from blue and gold glitter cardstock and layered them before placing on the card….the word ‘Birthday’ is also die cut from the same gold cardstock but instead of using the die cut I have used the negative and placed a strip of blue cardstock underneath..I have used sequins is various colours to decorate the card…
Hope you like this card as much as I do…
