Post#137 – Gift Card Pouch For Christmas

I’m sure there are heaps of people who resort to gift cards during Christmas instead of presents…I find them quite useful and practical myself….it’s not easy to buy personalised gifts for each and everyone you exchange gifts with…
These are also a very handy as a last minute present….It’s Christmas Eve today….where would you even find the time to go shopping for a present  now???  🙂
So how can we make these gift cards a bit more special….by creating a nice packaging for them so that the person receiving it can see the effort made for them…
This pouch has been made using Kraft cardstock with WRMK envelope punch board by punching, scoring and folding only 3 sides…on the front I added a printed panel with a border punched strip underneath…I then added 3 rectangular pieces out of which the top one is a printed cut out..
To finish the pouch I added a few rhinestones and a bit of gold string…
Hope you like this…

Our Christmas tree always has a few handmade ornaments on it every year….most of them are made by my kids at school…but this idea was on Pinterest and was made using the WRMK 1 2 3 Punch board…it seems to be quite a popular one as there were lots and lots of versions of the ‘bow angel’…
So you simply follow the instructions to make a bow…and the base needs to be cut in half and positioned downwards…a punched circle for the head and a small ribbon at the back hang the ornament…it’s quite easy to make and looks really cute…
Hope you liked it…

Post#135 Merry Christmas Green & Red Shaker Card

I made this shaker card using the WRMK fuse tool and a photo pocket…the card is not bulky at all which means that it can be posted normally with no extra postage or special packaging..

I started with a piece of green cardstock 5×12″ and scored the long side at 4″ and 8″….this is so that one section gets folded in to create the backing section for the shaker pocket….which also means that the section between the two score lines would be the front of the card and had to be die cut for the shaker to show through….I also die cut and embossed a thin frame from red card stock to go around the die cut space…

Once the shaker pocket was filled with sequins,I stamped an image of a scarecrow with white ink and attached the pocket at the back of the die cut space and glued in the backing section of the card….all that was left was to attach the stamped sentiment and the card was ready…

I’m quite pleased with how this card has turned out….hope you liked it too…

This gift bag has been made by following a Bag Tutorial by Sam Hammond Donald….it is a great size bag which is excellent for gifting jewelry etc…
I made this bag from a red and white Christmas paper with large numbers printed on it and attached an embossed red front panel to it….I stamped the sentiment on a white strip of cardstock and punched the edges using the banner punch…I added another strip in gold cardstock underneath…
Once the bag was ready I lightly sponged all the edges with red ink..
What I like most about this bag is the technique to close the box using a ribbon….you have to see the tutorial video to learn that…
Hope you liked it…

Post#133 White & Silver Christmas Card

The card I’m sharing with you today was among the first ones I planned to make for the holiday season….I love this cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and it is probably the one I use most for my Christmas cards…
I started with a white card base and a white embossed top layer….and then I added a silver die cut scalloped circle with a layer of white stitched circle on top….
I die cut the sentiment from silver glitter cardstock and glued it on the top circle…and to finish the card I added a few snowflakes in silver and white…
I am quite happy with this card and it looks pretty elegant too…

A few days after I made the white and silver card, I wanted to try this design out in other colours…..So I made two more cards…..one in red, gold and aqua blue and the other in lavender, silver and aqua blue….and here they are….

Hope you liked all these cards…

For today’s card,I wanted to step away from traditional Christmas colours but still keep the festive feel….
So I started with a beige base and rounded two sides of the card base…I selected a dark brown front panel and rounded two edges for this as well….then I glued die cut snowflakes in bright colours onto the front panel..
I added the sentiment near the base of the card and also added a gold rhinestone in the middle of each snowflake…
Hope you liked this card…

Post#131 Letterpress Technique Seasons Greetings Card

One of the first few posts that I shared on my blog was an Anniversary card using the faux letterpress technique taught by Jennifer McGuire and even though I liked it a lot,I didn’t actually try this technique much…so when I was thinking of ideas for a card in light tones,I decided to give this technique a try…
For this card I chose a light pink card base…and using a reindeer die and red dye ink I pressed the image onto the top white layer of the card…on one side I added a strip of silver glitter paper and a green printed glitter cardstock…
At the top of the card I first adhered an oval punch from  silver glitter cardstock and a banner with the sentiment stamped on it…I added a few green sequins and a red rhinestone for the eye if the reindeer…
Hope you liked this card….

Today I’m sharing a Christmas tag with a small shaker element…..I think that gives the tag a bit of a festive feel….
I started by die cutting the base of the tag using labels eight nesting dies from spellbinders….I then die cut about 6 small circle frames from white cardstock and stuck them one on top of another near the base of the tag….then put in a few sequins and sealed it using an acetate circle…and finally die cut another frame in blue and glued it on top….
Once the shaker section was ready I quickly attached the stamped sentiment and a few sequins and pearls …I glued a 3/4″ red circle and a 1/2″ white one near the top of the tag and and punched a hole for the ribbon…
Hope you liked this tag…

Post#129 – Money Envelope for Christmas

Today I’m sharing with you a money envelope….I’m sure at one time or another we have all received a bit of cash on special occasions from our parents, grandparents or relatives….usually tucked inside a card or in a plain envelope…it was so exciting to receive cash as a child…. 🙂
This is a simple fold over envelope made from printed glitter cardstock….I just rounded the edges of the envelope flap and lightly sponged all the edges with dark green ink…
I then created a plain band to go around the width of the envelope and decorated it with die cut snowflakes in various sizes…
Hope you liked this…
