Post#25 Match Box Style Small Gift Box

Sometimes we just don’t know how to wrap a small present…..the shops usually hand things to us in a standard bag and tissue paper packaging which is often too big for the item itself…And for this very reason I like this match box style gift box…
The slide out part of the box is very easy to make using the envelope punch board…the outer layer is simply scored to fit around that …and then to decorate I put on an adhesive printed tape around the box lid….added a couple of die cut feathers and punched flowers….and the box was ready…
Hope you liked it.

It’s winters here in Australia and these last few weeks(mid July) have been really cold in the eastern and southern states….Lots of rain, wind and even snow at places…eagerly waiting for spring now….
This card was made on one of those very chilly days…
I used warm colours for the card base and top layer…and punched out hearts in various sizes out of left over scrap paper….then I added a bit of adhesive printed paper tape with the sentiment stamped on top…
I hope you liked this card.

Post#23 Birthday Tag Slight Shadow Effect

Green and blue was a combination I wanted to try….So I made a small tag to test it out….It turned out nice….so I’m sharing it with you…. 🙂
I have also used a stamping technique called a shadow effect…..where you stamp the image once and then again by slightly moving the position of the stamp…I like how where the two colours overlap there is a new colour and it somehow looks like I’ve stamped the image three times..
On a die cut tag I stamped the swirly stamp twice….then stamped the sentiment sideways…added a couple of butterflies…and ribbons to finish the tag..
Hope you like it…

I’m very happy to share this card with you today….It turned out exactly the way I wanted it to….It’s a rare thing…but it does happen from time to time… 🙂
Vellum paper is a very new material that I’ve started using….It is taking a bit of time to understand how it works….but I love this translucent paper and how it enhances a card or paper craft project…
I stamped the flower stamp repeatedly on the white card topper and then coloured them in with water colours…..Then I heat embossed the sentiment at the base of the vellum topper….added a ribbon…and a couple of adhesive pearls  at the top….
I hope you like it.

I believe that craft as a hobby does not need expensive products or a large investment…..Poster paper, glue and a set of paper edging scissors were the basic items I started with about seven years ago……as time passed I felt I should invest in equipment and tools for crafting…they are not essential..but they do make life a bit easy….
I do have a few of the WRMK punch boards now…..In fact my envelope punch board got used so much that I had to go buy another one….and the good news is that they made a much improved version of it….the 1 2 3 punch board…for making envelopes, bows and boxes..and a few more things…
This box was made using the 1 2 3 punch board and Kraft cardstock…took hardly any time at all…and great result…I attached a gold doily at the front and an orange flower punched out from layers of tissue paper …Added a gold string at the top to close the box…
Hope you liked it.

There were two parts of this project…both of which I quite enjoyed making…..This is a 3×3″ note card set with envelopes which sits nicely in a small box…great for a gift…
The cards have all have a printed top layer and are decorated with various die cuts and punch outs..a few golden sequins as well..
I made the simple envelopes using the envelope punch board…
The card box was a bit of a challenge as I had to come up with all the specifications myself…..and after a few tries I did get it right and the cards and envelopes fit in nicely…
Hope you liked them.

Post#19 Tag Card – Yellow Hello

Sometimes,a simple hello from someone you haven’t heard from in a while makes you feel happy….and special…and thought about…
This card is made on a Kraft card base….and a yellow and white printed paper as top layer….I die cut two fishtail shaped tags in plain yellow and white….and on the top tag I attached a colourful Hello die cut word….to attach the tags to each other I used a bit of thick yellow bakers twine…and a few golden sequins here and there to finish the card…
Hope you liked it.

It’s so hard to think of cards for tweens and teens…they are kids but do not like being treated as kids… my elder daughter will be a teen next year….I better catch up with the trends and try out a few more cards like this….
I found this really cool mobile phone stamp set online and had to buy it…It’s perfect for the age group I’m talking about…
This time I used a 5 & 1/2″ square card base in red…I cut the numbers printed paper in an angle just to make it look a bit ‘cool’….then I used a border die to give it the cross stitch effect…I stamped and cut out the mobile phone and added the stamped text speech bubbles with a bit of foam squares  for dimension…..
I have a few more ideas for this stamp set…I hope I’ll be able to try those soon…
Hope you liked this ‘cool’ card…

The other day I saw a gift wrapped with newspaper as wrapping paper…..It looked really nice with bit of string wrapped around it….and the crafter in me instantly thought that a bright tag on that gift would’ve looked really eye catching…
So with that thought,I started on this tag…didn’t take too long for it to come together…
A die cut tag coloured with a bit of watercolour paints(my favourite these days)…a sentiment stamp at the top…some ribbon and rhinestones to finish the tag…
Hope you liked it.
