Today I’m sharing this flower card….I recently bought this stamp set and am pretty sure it will be one of my favorite sets…this is the first card I’ve made using this set…
I love clicking pictures of flowers, arranging fresh cut flowers, making paper flowers etc….so I usually get attracted to flower stamps…
For this card I made a bright background using distress inks…the flowers were first stamped then coloured in using Peerless watercolors…and then cut out and glued to the background base.
I also used a strip of vellum paper for the very first time….this allows the stems of the flowers to be a bit slightly visible from under the sentiment…
Hope you like this card.

From time to time I keep trying out various sizes and shapes of card…..Today its a circle shaped card….
And for the colourful background of this card I tried something for the very first time…I used the sunburst technique on a circle…I have tried that on rectangular and square card layouts before but never on a circle…quite happy about this…
On the purple circular base I added a die cut scalloped circle in off white as the first layer and placed the colourful circle on top of that….then added a punched out flower in orange and in the middle I added the sentiment punched out by a circle punch ….The white stitch effect around the card  was made using a gel pen…
Hope you liked it.

I see a lot of cards these days with tags on them…..and I do think its a great idea…and it looks good too…
Earlier I used to add as much as possible on to one card..thinking it would make it look prettier…only it turned out too busy for the eye to focus on anything….slowly I’m learning to tone things down and maintain a focus point in my cards…
It is a learning process for me…sometimes I get things right and sometimes I learn what not to do…
Here I’ve used a simple kraft cardstock for the card base and added a tag on which I used watercolours and then added a stamped and coloured in image…also added a few transparent sequins..
Hope you liked this simple card.

Whenever I think of kids,I think of bright colours….so here’s a tag I made which would be just perfect on a present for a kid….or even someone vibrant and young at heart…
Tags don’t take long to make…and this one didn’t either….as soon as I had the colours for the banners chosen,it came together pretty quickly…
I used 2 base layers for the tag and embossed the top white layer with a chevron embossing folder….then attached the 5 banner strips….and then the gold and yellow butterflies….added a tiny stamped and punched sentiment near the bottom ..finally put on the ribbons and tadaaaa….the tag was ready…
Hope you liked the tag.

A simple gift packed beautifully makes all the difference…Don’t you think??
Other than cards and tags,I love to make boxes and gift bags….I loved to wrap gifts nice and neatly even when I was little…..but now I take it a step further and make the packaging myself…
For this box I have used the specifications given by Sam Donald(pootles.co.uk) and followed her tutorial to make this box which she calls the Beehive Box…..Sam is an impressive crafter and a great teacher…..If you haven’t discovered her yet…then I suggest you take a look at her blog and start following….you’ll learn so much….
Here’s the link to her tutorial…

Birthdays are a happy time for most of us…and a bright and colourful tag on a nice big birthday present would be so very exciting…
I made this tag in a cheerful mood and the end result reflects my feelings perfectly…
The die cut word ‘happy’ is actually in a soft gold paper …the rest of it was pretty simple….just stamped the banner a few times and coloured it in bright colours….added a small yellow label under the die cut with birthday stamp and added a nice pink ribbon…all done…
Hope this tag cheers you up as well…

Today I’m sharing an anniversary card….It looks very simple and yet there is a proper technique that has been used to make this card….It’s called the faux letterpress technique which I learnt from one of my favourite blogger Jennifer McGuire…She used various doily dies for her cards but i didn’t have any so I used a word die for my card instead…
Here’s the link to her tutorial…
The aim is to get a letterpress effect using ink on a thin die and running it through the die cut machine(A Cuttlebug in my case) to get the outline printed and the rest of the die is embossed rather than cut…
It is so much fun to learn things and try new techniques…and its even better when things turn out just the way you want them to…
Cheers,

Post #3 Watercolour Tags – Bright and cheerful

Making colourful tags is one of my favourite things to do these days….they don’t take too long to make and turn out really nice….I usually try to keep them simple and uncomplicated…
Playing with watercolours is another thing i like doing a lot…I cannot paint or draw and still use so much watercolour for my craft projects…I love how unpredictable they are…and yet so beautiful…
Adding these to any gift will definitely make it a little bit extra special…
These tags are made using Peerless watercolors, watercolour paper, sentiment and flower stamps, love word die, butterfly punch and some ribbon.
Hope you liked these tags.
