Two Cards With Purple Flowers In Focus

For both my cards today, I coloured the focal flower images using the colour purple…..they may look pretty similar but I have used different techniques to create them…

For my first card I chose a plain white card base and die cut the top layer from white cardstock as well using a large dotted rectangle die..

Next,I stamped the leaf images from the Altenew Peony Scroll stamp set using watermark ink and heat embossed it using silver embossing powder..
Then on a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the flowers and a few more leaves and heat embossed them using silver embossing powder as well…I coloured these images using Gansai Tambi watercolours and cut them out once dry and placed them onto the card front…
I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock ad cut it out and placed it on the card as well..

My second card is different from the first one in a way that I have not used any embossing in this one and used grey dye ink to create the background instead….
The card base is a light lavender colour and the top layer has been die cut from white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die on which I stamped the flower images to create the background…I die cut a label and stamped the sentiment and placed it on the card using some craft foam behind it..

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped a few of the flower images using black ink and coloured then in using Spectrum Noir markers…I added one flower behind the label and another above it for a bit of dimension…
Finally I added a few black Nuvo drops and my card was ready…here’s a closer look of this card..

Altenew Flowers & Stencil Embossed Backgrounds

I had only planned one card for today(the one with the Iris flowers)…had all the layers decided and when I was about to emboss the stencilled dots background,I got a bit confused as to which way to face the stencil so that it embosses and not debosses it…not wanting to take the risk,I used another stencil and cardstock to try and find out the right way…and ended up making another card using that ‘practise’ piece…

I started with a plain white card base for my first card and then cut a mat layer from lavender coloured cardstock…the top layer is also white and I have used Distress Inks and  Altenew Halftone Dots stencil to create the pattern…the shades I have used here are carved pumpkin, spiced marmalade and wild honey…with the stencil still in place I embossed the background as well..

On a separate piece of watercolour cardstock,I stamped the Iris flower images using watermark ink and heat embossed them with copper embossing powder..I then coloured them in using watercolour brush pens and hand cut them before placing them on the card front…

I stamped the sentiment on a small white banner and adhered it to the card using craft foam…and finally I have used some copper/brown coloured adhesive pearls to embellish my card…

So as you know,my second card was made from the ‘practise’ piece….once it was embossed using Altenew Sketched Lines stencil,I cut this piece to size and then sponged in some Distress Inks to cover it..I have used wilted violet, scattered straw and shaded lilac shades here…I adhered this front panel to a dark purple card base…

On a separate piece of watercolor cardstock I stamped the Altenew Peonies and leaves and coloured them in using Aquarelle brush pens and a water brush…once dry,I cut them out and placed them on the card….

I stamped the sentiment on a small panel which I have covered with one of the shades of watercolour that I used in the flowers and then layered it on a purple glitter cardstock before adhering it to the card front….I have used a few purple sequins to embellish it..

Altenew Garden Hydrangeas – Just For You

After making a pop-up card with the Altenew Garden Hydrangeas stamp set,I decided to make a couple more…the first card I made today turned out almost as planned but the second one I’m not too sure about…although I still like it and it looks good but I feel it’s missing something….anyways,I just love this Hydrangeas stamp set….

For my first card,I chose a lavender coloured textured cardstock to make the card base as well as the top layer…I embossed the top layer using Seeing Spots embossing folder and then lightly sponged in some shaded lilac distress ink…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the outline stamp of the flowers and a few of the leaves and coloured them in using watercolour pencils and a water brush…once dry,I placed them on the card…
The sentiment has been stamped on a strip of lavender cardstock and I have placed it above another light blue banner using craft foam..

For my second card I chose a bright green card base and a plain white top layer….on this top layer,I stamped the base stamp layer of the Garden Hydrangeas layering stamp set using blue dye ink and a couple of green leaves as well…
I then cut a piece of vellum as bit larger than the top layer and then using my mini Misti and watermark ink,I stamped the top layer of the Hydrangeas and leaves and quickly heat embossed it using silver embossing powder….I then placed this layer above the white stamped top layer and tucked the excess paper behind it….I have not used any adhesive for the vellum layer,I simply used silver string and wrapped that around…
I die cut the word happy from silver glitter cardstock and stamped the word birthday on a silver strip of card and adhered these to the card…and finally to embellish the card I have used a few blue sequins…
Thank you so much for visiting today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Two Watercoloured Flower Cards

The cards I’m sharing today are my first few attempts at trying out the no line colouring technique..I have been very curious about it and wanted to see if I could get a hang of it….I would not consider these as examples of this technique…coz I don’t think I got the right results….but I did like the results and made a good couple of cards from them…

My first card has a bright pink card base and a watercolour paper top layer…I used a light pink distress ink and stamped the flower images on the top layer…then using a pink and green watercolour pencil I traced all the stamped edges…I also lightly coloured the stamped images and used a water brush to colour in the stamps…

I stamped the large sentiment stamp using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder and rounded two opposing corners of my card…I have embellished the card using tiny pink and green sequins…

Here is my second go at the same technique…the card base is lavender and the top layer has been cut to size using watercolor paper…

I have again used a very light distress ink to stamp the large roses and a couple of leaves….then using a water brush and Peerless watercolors,I coloured in the all the stamped images…

I stamped and cut out the sentiment and placed it on the card…and to embellish the card I used Nuvo crystal drops…

Sending Happy Thoughts

I have surprised myself today with how neatly I was able to fussy cut the stamped flowers layer for this card….well, neater than usual…so I’m pretty happy about it… 🙂
The card base is plain white and the top layer is plain pistachio green….I have stamped the sentiment using pink ink at the center of the top layer….
On a separate piece of white cardstock same width as the top layer,I stamped the peony flowers using black ink…I did use a mask for some of the flowers in order to stamp the images closely and/or overlap the images…using Peerless watercolors,I  coloured in the flowers and once they were dry I fussy cut around one side to cut off the excess and adhered the cut out on the top layer…
To embellish the card I have used a few pink sequins…
Thank you for stopping by today to take a look at my card….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!

Bright Peonies Thank You Card

I know I’m not very good with paints, but that doesn’t stop me…and I keep going coz I think that’s the only way I can get a bit better…so today I’m sharing a card that I have made using Peerless watercolors….
The card base is plain pink and the top layer has been cut to size using Ranger watercolor paper….on the top layer,I stamped a few peonies using the Altenew peony scroll stamp set using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using a gold embossing powder…I then coloured in the flowers and the background using Peerless watercolors…
Once dry,I placed a thank you word die on the top layer and ran it through my Cuttlebug and carefully removed the die cut word….I used a piece of gold foil cardstock to die cut the same word and then inlaid the gold one on the top layer…
I just punched a couple of hearts from the same gold foil cardstock and used them to embellish the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card…Have a very blessed day today…!!

Simple Birthday Card

I like outline stamps…and while they are great for colouring in with watercolours, markers or pencils….they are also great as is….especially when you want to create something simple…
While I did want to create a simple card,I also wanted to use colours…so I have used various colours of dye inks to stamp the flowers from my Altenew Peony Scroll stamp set on a white top layer for this card….once the flowers were stamped,I have again used different shades of green and brown inks to fill in the spaces with the leaf stamps in the set…
The background was ready,so I adhered it to the plain purple card base….I have stamped the sentiment on a small purple banner using white heat embossing powder…and I have just used 3 sequins to decorate the card…
Have a happy & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Happy Birthday Peonies Card

Today I’m sharing another card where I have used watercolours….but the main hero of this card is the Altenew Peony Scrolls stamp set…..I have just used four of the stamps from the set….there are a lot more tiny ones in the set as well….
The card base is plain blue and for the top layer layer I have used Ranger watercolour paper…I have stamped all the images using Versamark ink and heat embossed them with black embossing powder and then coloured them in using Peerless watercolours….I also decided to wash the negative space on it using a light blue colour….
I have used a strip of pink foil cardstock for the die cut sentiment but before I placed the sentiment on it,I used the stitch border die to create the stitched effect on it…and finally I used a few tiny sequins to decorate the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look…Happy crafting…
