LEAP DAY SPECIAL BLOG POST – No Fuss Colouring Technique Cards

It’s the 29th of February and I’m going to celebrate this day which comes only once in four years….I don’t know if my blog will still be running four years from now….so I’ve decided not to number my post for today….not only that,I’m sharing a special technique that I’ve learn’t from the latest issue of Australian Cardmaking,Stamping and Papercraft magazine (Vol. 22 No.8)..

The no fuss colouring technique tutorial was by Marion Vagg and her card was so pretty….She has used the back of cling stamps to stamp with coloured ink first and then the right side with black ink…..now the thing we have to be really careful about is the fact that the stamp has to be a symmetrical one or else it won’t work…
I got such good results from this technique that I went ahead and made two cards….The first one is a Hello card in which I have used my marigold stamp and in the second card I have used balloon stamps to make a Birthday card….
It’s a great technique to teach kids as well….
Hope you liked my cards….

Post#170 – Rainbow Hearts on Kraft Card

Today I’m sharing a simple card with a very sweet message….
The card base and top layer are made from Kraft cardstock…I have rounded only two sides of the card and top layer…on one side of the top layer I have attached a wide strip of Vellum Paper and another in red glitter cardstock above it…..on both of these I have used a heart border punch….
The sentiment has been stamped at the top right of the card using white pigment ink….and I punched two different sizes of hearts from coloured paper(prepared using peerless watercolors)….each heart has a tiny red rhinestone on it as well…
I hope you liked this card as much as I do…

This is a pocket fold card holder made by following the tutorial and instructions on the Inking Idaho blog by Becky Roberts…..here is the link for the Pocket Fold which creates two pockets on the project…one one each side….
You don’t need to do any cutting or gluing to create this pocket..it’s a paper folding technique….all you need is a small circle punch so once you have created the pocket, you can punch at the top and thread the ribbon through to hold both sides together….
I have made two small cards to go inside each of the pockets but you could very easily use individually wrapped tea bags or some other gifts…
Hope you liked this…

2015 seemed to have flown by….and a brand new year has begun….Happy New Year to you and yours and wishing you the very best in 2016….
My new year card has a gold cardstock base…and the top layer is in aqua green cardstock on which I stamped various size circle stamps with Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder…I then cut a 2″ strip of vellum paper and used a border punch on both sides before attaching it to the top layer…
On one side of the top layer I attached one strip of gold glitter adhesive tape and another in purple…next to it I threaded a few sequins on a gold string and wrapped it around the top layer a few times….
For the sentiment I die cut the Happy New Year word twice from purple card stock and once from gold foil paper and glued them together before attaching to the card…
Hope you liked this card…Have a great 2016….

It’s Christmas day today so here’s wishing you a very Merry Christmas and hoping that you will feel this happiness all year round…!!!
Today I’m sharing a card with light blue base and a vellum top layer which has been heat embossed with silver snowflakes….to attach the vellum firmly to the card,I used a strip of silver glitter cardstock on which I used a zig zag border punch….
The sentiment is a die cut word happy from silver cardstock…and the word Christmas is stamped and heat embossed with silver embossing powder on a smalls trip of blue cardstock…
I also glued a few dark blue rhinestones in the center of all the snowflakes…
Hope you liked this card…Have a lovely day today…

Post#137 – Gift Card Pouch For Christmas

I’m sure there are heaps of people who resort to gift cards during Christmas instead of presents…I find them quite useful and practical myself….it’s not easy to buy personalised gifts for each and everyone you exchange gifts with…
These are also a very handy as a last minute present….It’s Christmas Eve today….where would you even find the time to go shopping for a present  now???  🙂
So how can we make these gift cards a bit more special….by creating a nice packaging for them so that the person receiving it can see the effort made for them…
This pouch has been made using Kraft cardstock with WRMK envelope punch board by punching, scoring and folding only 3 sides…on the front I added a printed panel with a border punched strip underneath…I then added 3 rectangular pieces out of which the top one is a printed cut out..
To finish the pouch I added a few rhinestones and a bit of gold string…
Hope you like this…

While buying and giving Christmas gifts are quite an exciting part of the holidays, there is a big need for gift bags and boxes for these presents…while some gifts can be simply wrapped using papers of all sorts, others need a bit more…and with that thought I started on this box…
The box itself came together quite quickly as it was made using the 1 2 3 punch board…to close the box I decided to create a band made from paper and ribbon….for the top of the band I created a double bow using the same punch board….
Hope you liked this box…

Gift bags are so much fun to make and quite uncomplicated too….they can be simple or quite heavily decorated…whatever you like…if you need inspiration then Pinterest is the best place for you…
To create this gift bag I used a sheet of scrapbooking paper…and mainly kept it simple…other than using a scalloped border punch for the flap…which I sponged with brown ink as well…a ribbon tied up into a bow at the front keeps the bag closed….it also makes the bag easy to open…
I stamped the sentiment and punched it out using an oval punch and another larger one to layer it…also added a few punched out flowers…
I hope you like this bag…

Post#54 One Sheet Origami Style Gift Box – No Cutting Required

This box is made from a 12×12 sheet of paper and as the title suggests, there is no cutting and no wastage…and you get a box with two flaps closing on top as a lid….

Once you make all your score lines, you just need to fold it almost like an origami box….there is no glue required either….It just needs a paper band around it to keep the flaps closed…

It is much easier to make this card with a DSP than cardstock due to all the folding involved…I did try one with Kraft cardstock and it was definitely harder to fold than the DSP
I learnt to make this box from a tutorial on Frenchiestamps.com…If you’d like to make this box then please click on the link for the details and tutorial video – One box with One Sheet of 12×12 designer paper
Hope you liked these boxes….

I had received a stack of beautiful papers from the Australian Cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft magazine a very very long time back as a prize for the letter of the month and I have not been able to get myself to use them until now…they are a sort of printed pearlescent paper…I can’t remember the brand name…

For this card I picked my card colour and design layout from the printed paper that I used….I used a bright blue card base so that the printed paper shows nicely…on that I added a 1&1/2″ strip of paper on which I used a hole border punch on both sides…then following the circle theme of the print I punched out 3 red circles and one white(with stamped sentiment)and attached those to the blue strip…..
I liked how this card turned out and I hope I will be able to finally make a few more things from my precious papers… 🙂
Hope you liked the card.
