Celebrate Your Day

I love adding butterflies on my cards and while going through the pictures of the latest cards on my Pinterest board I realised that I hadn’t made a card using butterfly stamps or dies on it lately…so I decided to make one… 🙂
The card base is made from textured peach coloured cardstock and the top layer is white…on the top layer I have used a stencil and distress inks to print the background…I then stamped the sentiment on the top layer using black ink…half of the sentiment has been stamped on a tiny banner…
I die cut a few butterflied using foil and glitter silver cardstock and placed them on the card…I also adhered a few rhinestones to embellish the card….
Thanks for visiting my blog today…Have a great day ahead….!!

Bright & Colourful Anniversary Card

I love bright cards and I’m surprised that I haven’t made such a colourful anniversary card before…I also enjoyed making all the coordinating embellishments for this card…
The card base is made from textured green cardstock and I have cut the top layer to size from watercolor paper…I blended in various bright distress inks onto the watercolor paper and water stamped on it using an embossing folder….I added a strip of dark blue glitter cardstock on one side on the top layer…
I stamped two of the flowers form Tim Holtz Flower Garden set on white cardstock and coloured them in with peerless watercolours…once dry,I cut them out and placed them on the bottom corner of the top layer…I also die cut and punched out butterflies in various sizes using silver glitter cardstock and placed them on the card…
For the sentiment I coloured piece of white cardstock with pink watercolour and die cut the words and placed them on the card…I also adhered rhinestones on all the butterflies…

Post#163 Rainbow Butterflies Birthday Card & Card Box

I had so much fun making this card….it has bright colours and lots of butterflies….a perfect card for my cheerful little girl who’s turning 10 today….
The card base is 5″x 7″ made from plain pink cardstock….the top layer is plain pink as well…there is a large banner at the top made from silver glitter cardstock with the sentiment heat embossed with white embossing powder….
For all the butterflies,I coloured in seven 2” square pieces of paper with rainbow shades of watercolours….once dry,I die cut the large butterflies and punched out the smaller ones….I attached a rhinestone on each of these butterflies and adhered them onto the top layer of the card….
Once you enter the details of the box you require, this Box Buster will calculate the size of paper required to create the box as well the the first and second punch….
For larger boxes it does warn you that the paper will overhang the envelope punch board so please be careful….I did not face this problem since the 1 2 3 Punch board has an extendable arm and I can easily score the full length….
There is also a video tutorial as well – How to use the Box Buster App for any size box by Crafty Owl
My card sits perfectly in this envelope box that I created with printed paper….I also attached a couple of butterflies on the front of the box…
Hope you liked this card…Don’t forget to bookmark the link for the Box Buster….

Tea is getting fancier these days….and so many flavours too….
This tea bag pouch is very simply an envelope created by using the WRMK 1 2 3 punch board…you just measure the tea bag and look for the correct size envelope measurements on the board…
But since I would like it to be a bit special when I gift it to someone,I have decorated it with a ribbon and string and a few other thing like the butterfly die cut and the stamped banner underneath…
I’m quite happy with how my envelope pouch turned out….Hope you liked it too…

Post#147 Glitter & Butterfly Birthday Card

After using a lot of glitter cardstock for my projects,I had a fair bit of scraps left over…even though they were not very useful pieces,I held on to them until I came up with a way to use those…and then I saw  my sequin dies..and here’s the card….
The base and top layer of this card is plain white…..I die cut two different sizes of butterflies….the large one is die cut from pink glitter cardstock and the small one using silver cardstock which I have embossed as well….. I layered them before adhering to the card….
Then I stuck all the sequins dies cuts above the butterfly…..at the base of the card,I have used silver heat embossing powder with Versamark ink to stamp the ‘Happy Birthday’ message…
I thought to use a nice printed paper to create an envelope for this card using the WRMK 1 2 3 punch board….
Hope you liked this card…

Post#144 DIY Background Birthday Card

This card was so much fun to create…..mainly the background….all you need is some water soluble colour and a drinking straw…and very soon you will have one of a kind background ready for your card…
I used Peerless watercolors and a Pentel Aquash water brush…after picking up the colour I wanted,I dropped a few drops of colour on the card..it’s easier with the water brush….and then the fun started…I took a drinking straw and blew air over these droplets….very soon the water started running/spreading in all directions…I did the same with 2-3 more colours…
Since the background is the hero of this card,I did not want to hide it under unnecessary embellishments,so I simply adhered a die cut word ‘happy’ from gold cardstock and stamped the word ‘birthday’ under it…
There is a layered gold and orange butterfly and a couple of tiny ones on the card…on one side is a strip of gold and red cardstock…
This is a fun technique to try with kids…you could even create your own wrapping paper this way…
Hope you liked this card…

Going through a few of my old bookmarks,I found a link to this project tutorial by Sam Donald…..I had wanted to try it out as soon as I saw it but never got around to it till now….I love how beautiful these gift bags look and the best part is that we can make two bags from one sheet of 12” X 12″ cardstock…
The tutorial video is excellent as always and here’s the link for it – Typeset Birthday Bag Tutorial by Sam Donald
I loved making and decorating these bags….I tried one with plain cardstock and one with printed paper….both turned out great…
Hope you liked them too..

I think that adding a butterfly element to any card or craft project makes it a little bit more cheerful….Here I have done that by using stamps and dies…
On a light pink card base, the plain white top layer has been stamped with butterfly stamps in bubblegum dye ink…In the middle of the card I have attached three die cut butterflies…the top layer is in deep pink, the middle layer in embossed vellum paper and the bottom one from the same cardstock as the card base….
The sentiment is stamped and attached using adhesive squares….and just a few pink sequins have been added as embellishments..
Hope you liked this card…

Today I’m sharing with you a card in one of my favourite colour combinations….Blue,White and Silver…
It’s a simple card on which I used a chevron stencil and blue ink to make a printed background….I also used a paper mask to make the print go at an angle rather than straight…then I stamped a sentiment above it….below the print I put on a silver glitter tape and a die cut butterfly on top…a bit of sequins and rhinestones added some sparkle to it…
I like this card and I hope you do as well.
