Colourful Thank You Card

The was one of the easiest and most fun colourful background I’ve made recently….and no prizes for guessing what ink I’ve used…Distress inks of course…!!
I have used a blue cardstock for the card base and water colour cardstock for the top layer…then I used a 1” circle punch and some scrap copy paper and created a few stencils…I could’ve used an acetate sheet for the same…but it was much faster and convenient with paper…
Using bright distress ink colours and the paper stencils,I started printing the pattern on the top layer…I then stamped, heat embossed and die cut the sentiment….coloured in and cut out a little fairy image…and placed both of them on the card…I have used a few rhinestones to embellish this card…
I’m so glad and thankful you stopped by to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Party Time

Whats a party without party hats..??So I made little party hats for the owl and chick and decided to create a bright and sparkly background for today’s card…
The card base is light pink and I die cut watercolor paper to size and created the background using various distress inks…I then punched a few 1″ circles from gold glitter cardstock and stuck them onto the top layer….lastly, using the largest rectangular stitched die,I created the border and well as cut off the excess from the gold circles..
After stamping the sentiment directly onto the top layer,I placed the coloured in and cut out images of the owl and the chick…
Thanks a lot for visiting my blog today…Have a happy and crafty day…!!

Hoping You’re Better Soon Card

With the kind of cold and wet July we are having here,it’s no wonder almost everyone is going through some sickness or the other…can’t wait for Spring to arrive and the days to get longer and brighter…
I decided to make a bright get well card today and tried out a bit of shading with three colours of distress inks….The card base is a bright jade green kind of colour and the top layer is plain white…I used a stencil with various sizes of circles to create the pattern on the top layer and then stamped the sentiment stamp using black ink….
To add a bit of dimension to the card,I coloured in a bit of paper using pink ink and punched out a few circles in much smaller sizes and placed them on the card…I then used glossy accents on them….I’m sorry I couldn’t click a better picture to show the full effect but those punched out circles really shine and stand out on the card…
Finally I added a few colourful sequins in various sizes to embellish the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look…Have a blessed day today…!!’

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

I love creating shaker pockets for cards, bookmarks or tags….and today I’ve tried out a shaped shaker pocket for a card front…this time I’ve tried to be very neat so that I don’t have to cover up the edges with a frame or embellishments…which also means that this card is not bulky at all and can be posted as standard post…
I started with a bright pink card base and a bright green top layer….I then created the shaker pocket using the fuse tool and a photo sleeve pocket which I filled up with lots of bright sequins before sealing it at the top…
I then attached the fuse pocket to the top of the card and added a scalloped border strip from pink foil cardstock over it…I used the same foil card stock to punch out a circle for the stamped sentiment as well as the die cut scripty ‘Happy Birthday’ word and placed these on the card..
Just realised that I did not add the dot on the ‘i’ from the die cut….also known as a ‘tittle’….I’ll add it now but there is no time to re-shoot… 🙂
Hope you liked this card…

Cute Purse Style Box

The first time I tried this box out years ago,I didn’t quite get it right and probably didn’t have the patience to understand and execute the design properly….so I’m very glad Sam(from Pootles)made this very box/purse again for the way back wednesday theme that she’s been doing at her blog these days….
Here’s the link for the tutorial by Sam Hammond – Way Back Wednesday Easy Stick Purse Tutorial
It’s a very cute little purse box and can hold quite a bit inside it….for my box I have used a plain pink cardstock for the base and the top layer paper is from Stampin Up! DSP stack called It’s My Party…
I hope you liked this box and will give it a try yourself too….

Post#174 – Distress Inks,Stencils+Water Background Cards

I have followed a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire to create backgrounds for all these cards….I got quite excited by such a good result and went ahead and made a couple more cards using this technique…
Here is the link for the tutorial – Easy Distress Ink Backgrounds by Jennifer McGuire
It’s an excellent video so there is no need for me to write down much details….
I did however mix a bit of twinkling H2O watercolour in my water spritzer for a shiny look as I do not have any other kind of pre-bottled shimmer spritzer etc….
The cards are only lightly decorated as the background is the hero in all these cards….
Hope you liked these cards…
Do you have a favourite??Let me know…

It was high time that I tried a confetti card myself….there are a lot of versions on Pinterest and I’ve been delaying trying that because I first wanted to try making a very small envelope using a WRMK 1 2 3 punch board…

Since I wasn’t able to find dimensions for a tiny envelope online,I sat down with the punch board and came up with one that I could use on this card….I used a 3″ square double sided paper and the first punch and score line is at 1&3/4″….

Once the envelope was ready,I stuck it on the card and covered the card with colourful punched circles and rhinestones in a way that they seem to be bursting out of the envelope….

The sentiment is stamped on a small gold cardstock banner and placed on the envelope…

Hope you liked this confetti card….

Post#149 Embossed Birthday Card Wrapped With Gold String

After making quite a few brightly coloured cards,I wanted to make a card with a light colour theme….
First the top layer of this card has been sponged using various distress inks….then it was embossed using the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder….I wrapped a gold string around it and glued three thin strips of paper on one side…
For the sentiment stamps I used gold cardstock and stamped with black stazon ink and then punched them out using circle punches….to decorate the card I have used various tiny punches with the same gold cardstock as well as a few rhinestones…
Hope you liked this card…

Today I’m sharing a Christmas tag with a small shaker element…..I think that gives the tag a bit of a festive feel….
I started by die cutting the base of the tag using labels eight nesting dies from spellbinders….I then die cut about 6 small circle frames from white cardstock and stuck them one on top of another near the base of the tag….then put in a few sequins and sealed it using an acetate circle…and finally die cut another frame in blue and glued it on top….
Once the shaker section was ready I quickly attached the stamped sentiment and a few sequins and pearls …I glued a 3/4″ red circle and a 1/2″ white one near the top of the tag and and punched a hole for the ribbon…
Hope you liked this tag…

Post#128 – Happy Holiday Hello Card

I loved this cute stamp set from Wplus9 called Merry Little Christmas and have kept it in my Christmas stamps folder for quite a while…what I didn’t realise was that I would have to colour it in and that is quite a big challenge for me…
Once I stamped all the images and sentiment the way I wanted on the front panel of the card,I just coloured in the main image and decorated the bauble with rhinestones and gold ink pen…. for the bauble stamps at the base, I punched out circles from various papers and stuck them on….
I used a corner rounder punch on only two sides of the card…
Hope you liked this card…

This is one of the cutest boxes that I’ve made….and yes I made this by following a tutorial by Sam Donald…it’s great for holding a few chocolates or treats or a small item…
It’s a triangle shaped box that opens at the top and the outside case/cover shaped like a tent closes the box nicely…and that means there are no ribbons or other things required to close the box…
I chose a plain grey cardstock for the box and a green and grey printed  paper for the cover…to decorate the box I made a narrow silver banner and added a stamped and punched flower and added the sentiment on a circle at the top…
Hope you liked how my box turned out…

Going through a few of my old bookmarks,I found a link to this project tutorial by Sam Donald…..I had wanted to try it out as soon as I saw it but never got around to it till now….I love how beautiful these gift bags look and the best part is that we can make two bags from one sheet of 12” X 12″ cardstock…
The tutorial video is excellent as always and here’s the link for it – Typeset Birthday Bag Tutorial by Sam Donald
I loved making and decorating these bags….I tried one with plain cardstock and one with printed paper….both turned out great…
Hope you liked them too..

I bought the button punch a very long time ago….but I have not used it much at all…somehow I could not come up with ideas…even though this one punch can punch out 5 different types of button shapes…
So I sat down and took just one of the shapes to design this card…On a white base card I used a white top layer as well…I punched four circles on it and attached it to the base card…on each one of these circle spaces I attached four different coloured buttons punches…and to give it a bit more of a button effect, I used a thin gold string to sew through…
I stamped the sentiment at the top of the card…then cut out a stamped image of a little girl and adhered it to the front of the card using adhesive foam squares…
Hopefully I will be able to think of more ideas to create something with my button punch…
Thanks for taking a look at my post today…Hope you liked this card…

For  quite some time I had been looking for a tutorial to make a box which did not need a ribbon, string or a band to close it……and luckily I found one by Elaine Jackson on her blog called Papercraft Button….She has shared measurements for a variety of sizes for this box she calls the Cross Close Box….I have added her tutorial video below as well if you’d like to learn how to make this box…
I used a very dark green cardstock to create the base and a green and white printed paper for the four panels on each side….
I also made a tag using the same papers…the base of the tag was made by punching both ends of the tag with the tag topper punch and threading a ribbon through…then added a square peice of printed paper with two of the edges rounded using the corner punch….and finally added the stamped sentiment on top….
I had a lot of fun making this box….Hope you liked how it turned out…
