Let’s Celebrate You!

Sharing a quick and fun card today…the main image of the three ladies all dressed up and posing for a photo is sure to make you smile…especially the one standing the wrong way…coz there is at least one of those in a group photo who can’t figure out where the camera is…ha ha..!!

I die cut the top panel from white cardstock using the largest dotty rectangle die and stamped the image on it…I chose bright colours for colouring in once the images were coloured,I covered them with a mask and sponged in some squeezed lemonade Distress Ink at the bottom of this panel and salty ocean Distress ink with a cloud stencil at the top…I also splattered some water on the inked areas..

I stamped the sentiment above the images and adhered the panel to a plain white card base..to embellish my card I have used a few clear sequins…

Cute Panda Cards

I rarely buy coordinating dies for my stamps, but this stamp set came with the dies so these cards were pretty quick to make..I love these panda images…especially coz they don’t even need to be coloured in.. 🙂

My first card has a plain white card base and a watercolour cardstock top layer…I first sponged in some distress inks, leaving some white space in the center and then sponged in some hearts using a stencil..I have used candies apple, abandoned coral and spun sugar shades of Distress Inks here..I also added a few splatters of gold paint..
I then embossed the top layer using the three largest Avery Elle double pierced rectangle dies and  stamped the sentiment using black ink and then adhered this top layer to the card base…
Finally I added the die cut panda images to the card and a few sequins to embellish it…

My second card was much simpler and quicker to make…and it’s an action wobble card…
I started with a bluish green cardstock card base and die cut watercolour cardstock using a large cross stitch rectangle die…I then sponged in some worn lipstick distress oxide at the center of the top layer…I splattered a bit of water for effect…once dry,I stamped a  lot of arrows pointing towards the center using broken china Distress Ink…

I stamped the sentiment and used an action wobble spring at the back of the die cut panda image and adhered it to the card…I used googly eyes for the panda and to embellish this card I have used clear sequins..I have uploaded a small video of this card…if this video doesn’t work on your device then you can view it on my Instagram account

So happy you stopped by my blog today…Hope you will have a happy and wonderful day ahead..!!

Programming Happy Times Ahead

I like using foil cardstock in my cards but they never show up good in pictures…I tried keeping my card flat but the picture didn’t look too great either..I really need tips and advice for this so let me know if you have some for me…

I started with a silver cardstock for the card base and cut out a large dotted rectangle mat layer using silver foil cardstock…I also die cut a smaller rectangle top panel on which I stamped the Wplus9 Big Top stamp twice to create the rays background…I also stamped the sentiment on this panel using blue dye ink..

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the robot image and coloured it in using watercolour pencils and Dove blender pen…I then cut it out and placed it on my card..

To embellish this card I have used a few clear sequins in various sizes..and my card was ready…
While this card did not take too long to create but as I said before – it took a long time to click a picture in which the foil cardstock shows properly…and laying it flat was the only way I could get a decent picture…what do you think..??

Sending Hedgehugs Action Wobble Card

My elder daughter misses her best friend a lot and wanted to send her a card…she wanted a bright and cheerful one so I came up with this one…

For a plain white card base I chose a watercolour cardstock which I have cut the same size as the front of the card…I also used a large double pierced die to emboss this layer for a bit on texture…
Using Gansai Tambi watercolours,I painted rainbow strips on the card…was pretty happy with myself as I finally got the order of colours right…I have usually managed to muck up the order in almost every project…once the colours were dry,I adhered the panel to the card front…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the little girl and the two hedgehogs…I coloured them in using Spectrum Noir markers and cut them out and placed them on the card…I have used a mini action wobble spring for the big hedgehog…you can check out the small video for this card on my Instagram page..
To embellish the card I have used clear sequins in various sizes…adding more colour to this already colourful card didn’t make sense..
Thank you for your visit today…I’m glad you stopped by my blog…Have a wonderful day ahead…!!

You Can Always Lean On Me

These happy hedgehogs from MFT are adorable aren’t they??I just need to add them to a card and it instantly adds cuteness to it…this time I made a simple one layer card using this stamp set with the sentiment banner on top…

On a die cut watercolor cardstock card front,I stamped the hedgehogs, grass and the little butterfly using black ink and then die cut a circle using some scrap paper….with that circle die cut I created a mask for the stamped area and used Distress Inks to create the background…the shades I have used are abandoned coral, candied apple, fired brick and ground espresso…I spritzed a bit of water for effect and once dry,I removed the mask…
I coloured in the images using Spectrum Noir markers and created a small banner to stamp the sentiment on…and finally I have used a few clear sequins to embellish this card…
I’m so glad you stopped by to take a look at my card today….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Blessings For A Happy Life

Every time I see a Hibiscus flower, I’m reminded of a few of my science teachers who taught us the parts of a flower using this very flower…visual memory is usually so much stronger than just memorising something off a book and not understanding it much…it’s great to see that most teachers nowadays teach with visual teaching aids and topic related experiments and excursions…
For today’s card I chose a black card base and a watercolor paper for the top layer…I sponged a few different green distress inks and then splattered some water for effect…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the Hibiscus flowers and coloured them in using Peerless watercolors…once dry,I cut them out and placed them on the top layer and added a few die cut leaves as well…
I stamped the sentiment using black ink and placed a few clear sequins to embellish the card..
Thank you for stopping by to take a look…Have a blessed day today…!!

The card base is plain black and the top layer has is made from watercolour paper on which I created a background using Distress inks…I also spritzed a bit of water on it for effect..once the top layer was dry,I stamped the sentiment on it…

Wishing You Were Here

Whether you are a new to card making or just looking for ideas to try, Jennifer McGuire’s blog is a great classroom for everyone…I have learnt so much from watching her tutorials and trying out the techniques she teaches…I watch all her videos even if I don’t have the items she’s using as she gives  out a lot of hints, suggestions and tips in her tutorials..
For today’s card I followed her tutorial for Coordinating Die Masking technique…all I had to do was stamp the image directly onto the top white layer and then mask it off with a coordinating die cut…I sponged around and over it with distress ink and took off the mask….I then coloured in the image using my Spectrum Noir markers..
The top layer has been die cut using stitched rectangle die and after the sentiment was been stamped,I adhered it to the bright blue card base..I have also used a few clear sequins to embellish the card…

I really like the white border around the image created by the masking…Here’s a closer look at the stamped and masked image…

Happy Birthday Rainbow Card

I’m very excited to share today’s card with you….it turned out much better than I had planned and it’s simply the kind of cards I love to create….colourful and bright…
The card base is plain white and I have used a water colour cardstock to create the top layer….first I have applied various distress inks onto the top layer and then sprinkled water droplets on it…once it was dry,I embossed it using the flourish embossing folder….I also wrapped a bit of silver string around the top layer before adhering it to the card base…
I then die cut a scalloped circle using vellum, placed the little fairy on it and then adhered it to the top layer….
For the sentiment I have die cut the word happy from black cardstock and then stamped the word word birthday on a white strip of cardstock and placed them on the top layer…
To embellish the card I have used clear sequins in various sizes…

May You Be Protected Card

I love the effect of coloured inks on Kraft cardstock….although I have learnt that not all colours work well on it but the ones that do work, look absolutely fabulous….
On a Kraft cardstock card base I have used a green mat layer and a Kraft top layer….I have rounded two opposite sides of all the layers with a corner rounder punch….on the top layer,I stamped a fern leaf stamp repeatedly with green dye ink…
On a smaller piece of Kraft cardtstock,I stamped the sentiment with dark brown ink and added a green layer underneath….I rounded two corners of these as well before placing on the card….I have used clear sequins to decorate the card….
Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…

Many Happy Thoughts Card

Today I’m sharing yet another card made using Mama Elephant stamp set….I loved these stamps so much,I couldn’t stop using them…and my colouring in wasn’t too bad this time so it made the results even more exciting…
The card base is plain and I think the colour is kind of deep peach-ish red…I did not use any top layer in this card….The sentiment is stamped on a silver banner with another silver glitter cardstock banner layered underneath….
The main images were stamped, coloured and cut out and placed on a rectangular printed die cut….but when I die cut that rectangle,I realised that the leftover piece looked like a Polaroid frame and because it was double sided paper,I simply flipped it and added it around the rectangle….
I have used clear sequins to decorate the card…
Hope you liked the card….and my super idea of creating a Polaroid frame from the leftover card piece… 🙂 🙂

Post#191 – Distress Inks Background Thank You Card

I just love how many different ways you can use distress inks….and almost all results are unique…..and it’s so much fun creating with them…
For this card I have used a plain yellow card base and rounded two opposite corners….then I cut watercolour paper to size and started preparing for my unique print….all I needed was 4 mini distress ink pads and a rectangular stamping block…after stamping with the ink pads directly onto the block,I sprayed it with water and quickly stamped it onto the top layer….it was runny at a few places so I  simply absorbed the excess with a paper towel…
Once the inks were dry,I splattered a bit of bright twinkling H2O watercolour with a paint brush and dried it up with a heat gun…
The sentiment has been stamped and die cut and placed near the bottom of the card…and I have used  a lot of clear sequins in various sizes to fill up and decorate the card…
Hope you liked this one….
