Sending Christmas Wishes

I have never used Kraft cardstock for a Christmas card before so thought it would be a good idea to try out one of them…
The card base is plain white and the top layer is cut to size from Kraft cardstock…I have rounded two opposite edges of the card and the top layer using a corner rounder punch…
Using black ink and the winter sparrows stamp set by Lawn Fawn,I repeat stamped the images to fill the top layer…then using my Spectrum Noir markers I coloured in all the sparrows…I also used a white gel pen for colouring in…
Once the top layer was stamped and coloured in,I stamped a part of the sentiment on a white glitter cardstock banner and die cut the word wished from the same cardstock and adhered then to the card…
Finally I used a few snowflake sequins to embellish my card…
Thanks for visiting today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Miss You Card

I don’t know if there are any cardmakers who have never changed the idea/plan half way through making a card…papercraft is quite unpredicatable at times….something or the other might not not go to plan in a lot of projects…
The card I’m sharing today was almost ready when I looked at the bunny stamped image I had coloured in and thought it looked a bit sad – not cheerful enough for a birthday card – and decided to change the sentiment for the card….
The card base is textured blue cardstock and the top layer is plain white…I have rounded two opposite sides of the base and top layer with a corner rounder punch…I then stamped the top layer with just two stamps from Stampin’ Up! Balloon celebration set using pink gumball dye ink…
I stamped and coloured in the bunny image on white cardstock and created a blue back panel for it…I rounded two edges of these panels as well…the sentiment has been stamped on a vellum strip and placed above the bunny image before adhering the panel to the top layer of the card…
I have used pink rhinestones to decorate the card..

Thinking About You Card

There is such a huge range of embellishments available these days for all sort of paper crafts….I don’t use too many different types of embellishments but a few years ago I had bought these flower die cut by Kaisercraft and added them mostly to my scrapbooks pages but decided to use them in a card today…
The card base is a light olive green and the top layer is plain cream colour…I  rounded all four corners of the base and the top layer…I then die cut a polaroid frame and created a background for it and added the little girl image on it…
Before placing the polaroid frame onto the card,I placed three flower die cut shapes behind it…I stamped the sentiment on the top layer with red dye ink and adhered a few red rhinestones to decorate the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card today…Happy crafting..!!

May You Be Protected Card

I love the effect of coloured inks on Kraft cardstock….although I have learnt that not all colours work well on it but the ones that do work, look absolutely fabulous….
On a Kraft cardstock card base I have used a green mat layer and a Kraft top layer….I have rounded two opposite sides of all the layers with a corner rounder punch….on the top layer,I stamped a fern leaf stamp repeatedly with green dye ink…
On a smaller piece of Kraft cardtstock,I stamped the sentiment with dark brown ink and added a green layer underneath….I rounded two corners of these as well before placing on the card….I have used clear sequins to decorate the card….
Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…

Indian Themed Paisley & Watercolour Card

This paisley stamp is among the first few I bought when I was starting out…..and I love it and use it a lot….but I don’t think I have ever made a bright and colourful card like this one before using this stamp…reminds me of the hand printed scarves I had seen in Rajasthan,India…
The card base is plain bright blue and the top layer is made from Ranger watercolor paper….I first stamped the images randomly using Versamark ink and then heat embossed them using black embossing powder…once that was done,I coloured them all in with Peerless watercolors…
Next,I die cut the word ‘Happy’ from blue and gold glitter cardstock and layered them before placing on the card….the word ‘Birthday’ is also die cut from the same gold cardstock but instead of using the die cut I have used the negative and placed a strip of blue cardstock underneath..I have used sequins is various colours to decorate the card…
Hope you like this card as much as I do…

Cute Purse Style Box

The first time I tried this box out years ago,I didn’t quite get it right and probably didn’t have the patience to understand and execute the design properly….so I’m very glad Sam(from Pootles)made this very box/purse again for the way back wednesday theme that she’s been doing at her blog these days….
Here’s the link for the tutorial by Sam Hammond – Way Back Wednesday Easy Stick Purse Tutorial
It’s a very cute little purse box and can hold quite a bit inside it….for my box I have used a plain pink cardstock for the base and the top layer paper is from Stampin Up! DSP stack called It’s My Party…
I hope you liked this box and will give it a try yourself too….

Post#193 – Distress Inks Lifting Technique Card

Whenever I learn something new from a tutorial,I usually do a trial and then plan out the actual project…today’s card was a trial which turned out pretty great so I went ahead and finished the card with it…
I have followed a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire in which she teaches the Distress Inks Lifting Technique
So I have white heat embossed the image, then covered the whole top layer liberally with dusty concord distress ink…with a brush and water,I painted the inside of the flowers, stems and leaf….this lightened the colour and once dry I painted in the flowers with picked raspberry and the stems with mowed lawn distress ink….
I heat embossed the sentiment with white heat embossing powder as well….rounded two corners of the top layer and the card base….and decorated the card with a few adhesive white pearls…
If you like playing with distress inks then you should try this technique as well….

Hope you liked my card….

When it comes to using black cardstock for making cards,I have to really think hard to come up with a design which doesn’t use any stamping at all….coz for me,no matter how much effort I put in…as soon as I stamp on black cardstock,it never works…but I’m not going to stop using black….
On a plain black cardstock base I have used a black top layer as well and rounded only two ends of the card…I then used a stitched scalloped border die to die cut strips in various colours and adhered them to the card….I added a strip of gold glitter cardstock at the top….
The sentiment is a wood veneer word which has been glued to the card….and I have used a few black sequins as embellishments….
Hope you liked this card…

I’ve had this stamp set called Bubblegum Hills by Kaisercraft for a verrrryy long time but I haven’t used it at all…every time I got the stamps out, I put them back as I had no idea what to create with it….and today I’ve finally put them back after using one of the stamps in the set…
The card base is plain blue…For the top layer I have used distress inks to create a bright background….I then stamped the image with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder…
The sentiment is stamped on a green banner and heat embossed as well…I did not want to add any more colours to this card so I used clear sequins to decorate it….
Hope you liked it…

Post#183 A Million And One Thanks

Unlike the previous cards which were quite bright and colourful, today’s card has very soft colours…..
The card base is light grey and the top layer is plain white….I have stamped various feather stamps on the top layer with light blue, grey and black ink…
For the sentiment,I stamped it on a small white rectangle piece of card  and rounded two opposing corners….I added a grey layer underneath it before adhering it to the card with foam squares….I have also added a few tiny blue rhinestones on the card…
It’s a simple card and I hope you liked it….

I love how this gift bag turned out so I’m really happy to share this with you today….
I have followed the tutorial by the fabulous Sam Donald and made this gift bag…It’s a huge one and can hold heaps of stuff….Here’s the link for her tutorial – It’s My Party Huge Bag
Now I had to change the top folding part in the video….and that was because Sam has used a double sided paper which looks really pretty when folded out at the top….but I’ve used one sided printed paper and didn’t want the plain white to show outside….so I’ve simply skipped that step, and folded the top part downwards and tied a string around it…
I have used two shades of green cardstock for the front panel….the top panel has a gold heat embossed message….and to decorate the panel I have punched out and adhered three small flowers from peach cardstock…
Hope you like my version of the bag…

Today I’m sharing a simple and elegant anniversary card…..
My Stampin Up demonstrator sent me a few goodies last month….some beautiful cardstock, some printed DSP and some embellishments…and this plain green cardstock caught my eye….It’s such a pretty colour…I’m not familiar with SU paper colours but I think this one is called Pistachio Pudding(pls. correct me if I’m wrong)…
I have used gold cardstock as the base and the green as the mat…I wanted the green to show more so the top layer is quite smaller than the green one….
After rounding the corners of all the layers,I have stamped the top layer using Versamark Ink and a large Doily Stamp and then used a gold embossing powder to heat emboss it…I also stamped and gold embossed the ‘Happy Anniversary’ stamp on a banner punched out of the same green cardstock…
At the center of the doily stamp I have placed a large flower punched from gold cardstock with a rhinestone in the middle….
Hope you liked this card…

I had thought of trying out this colour combination towards the end of last year….but it looked too Halloween-y at that time…Grey,Orange & Black look great together….and here’s my card using these colours…
The card base is light grey and the top layer is orange….I have used a corner punch to round off all four corners of both layers….
To write the whole message on the card,I have split the message into three different peices…..First I stamped ‘You Are So Sweet’ with orange ink on a grey banner strip, then I heat embossed the ‘&’ with silver embossing powder and finally I die cut the word ‘lovely’ with black glitter cardstock…
I have used a silver foil card stock and black adhesive pearls to punch a few flowers to decorate the card…
Hope you like this card….
