Twice The Wishes

I’m sharing a very colourful birthday card today and I loved creating the background for it..Distress Inks are still my absolute favorites..I also like the bright pink candles on it…

I started by die cutting the front panel of the card from white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die…I used three dies from the MFT mini scallop rectangle stax to emboss this panel…

Then using some scrap paper and an edge die,I created a few masks which I used with distress inks to create this colourful background…I splattered some water on this panel and quickly dabbed it with a paper towel..

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the candles using a dark pink dye ink and the flames using yellow ink…I cut out each one of the candles and adhered them to the card front using some adhesive foam underneath…
I stamped the sentiment on a large white banner and adhered it on top of the candles….I embellished my card using some very tiny Nuvop drops…

No Good Reason to Act Our Age

Most of my school time friends and I are fast approaching our milestone birthdays and we keep talking about it and make fun of how we will be counted as ‘old’ once we’ve reached that stage…so when I saw this Art Impressions stamp set,I couldn’t resist getting it…was laughing all the time I was making this card…!!

I started with a top folding Kraft cardstock card base and then cut a smaller front panel from black cardstock…on this front panel,I printed the spotty pattern using white pigment ink and a stencil..
I then die cut a panel from watercolour cardstock using mini scallop rectangle die and stamped the big top stamp set to create the rays…I used Fossilised Amber Distress Oxide ink to stamp it and then sprayed plenty of water so the a lighter colour spreads to the unstamped section of the watercolour panel…once dry,I stamped the sentiment in black ink and adhered this panel to the card front…
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped  and coloured in the ‘cool lady’ on the skateboard…I cut the image out and used adhesive foam underneath before placing it on the card…and finally I used black Nuvo drops to embellish my card…
Do you like sending funny cards to your friends??I think this one would definitely get a good laugh from quite a few of mines…Thank you for stopping by my blog today…hope you will ave a fabulous day ahead…happy crafting..!!

Faux Shaker Card

I have used a plain white cardstock card base and die cut green printed dsp for the first layer…I then die cut a frame using another green printed cardstock and cut out white cardstock a bit smaller than this frame…
On the white panel,I stamped the sentiment and the succulent image and coloured it in…I then applied some glossy accents and sprinkled lots of yellow and pink star sequins on it….had I used some sort of clear sequins etc,I would’ve been able to cover a bit of the stamped images as well…once the glossy accents was dry,I placed the frame on top and adhered this panel onto the card…

Stripes With Die Cut Inlay Cards

Every time my leftover paper stash starts getting bigger,I make sure I spend time using paper from it rather than use new sheets….and since I use a lot of coloured cardstock for my cards,I have a whole lot of coloured leftovers that I sort and store in see through folders…so when I saw the tutorial by Jennifer McGuire in which she used strips of leftover cardstock to create a decorative element for her card,I knew was going to try it out…
I created the striped panel following the tutorial and created two cards from it…the first card has a big panel ..I die cut the word ‘hi’ from the panel and replaced it with white die cut word…I used a stitched border die on two sides of the panel before adhering it to the kraft top layer of the card…then using the stitched rectangle die,I ran the top layer through my die cut machine…
Once the top layer was ready,I adhered it to a white card base and embellished it with a few sequins…

With the leftover small panel I created the second card….the card base is plain white and the top layer has been die cut from bright yellow cardstock and a stitched rectangle die…I had already adhered the striped panel before die cutting the top layer…then using white cardstock I die cut a scalloped frame and the word ‘thanks and placed them on the top layer…I have used orange sequins in various sizes to embellish the card..

For my first card I chose a Kraft cardstock card base and a plain white top layer…I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using gold heat embossing powder…..I then die cut the base of the ornament from the top layer and wrapped a gold string around the top..

In the cut out section,I placed a snowflake ornament which I have die cut using blue glitter cardstock and embellished them with gold pearls…

My second card has a plain white card base…the top layer has been die cut from watercolour cardstock using a large rectangle stitched die….I then sponged in some spun sugar and pickled raspberry distress inks and splattered a bit of water for effect…
I created the top panel using pink glitter cardstock and mini scallop dies for the frame and a white base on which I have heat embossed the reindeer image…I added a few die cut snowflakes on the top layer before adding the panel on it…
I stamped the sentiment on a small white panel and layered it onto a small die cut scalloped rectangle…

Count Your Life By Smiles

Today’s card was another quick one….and the background was not created for it as such….in fact I was just trying out one of the distress mini kits – Kit 4 – to see what the colours were like on paper…they looked great so I went ahead and used it as the top layer for this card…
I have used silver cardstock for the base of this card….I then used the largest stitched rectangle die to die cut the top layer…then using grey ink,I stamped the sentiment on the top layer…
Using silver glitter cardstock and mini scallop dies,I die cut a frame and adhered it around the stamped sentiment…
Finally,on a separate piece of cardstock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the two butterflies and adhered them to the card…

Look Who’s Turning Two

As I had mentioned in one of my earlier posts,I had just discovered Clearly Besotted stamps – and before  I could even start making and sharing cards using their stamps, they announced that they have temporarily closed their shop and will reopen in early 2017….I have loved receiving my wonderfully tissue wrapped and carefully packaged parcels from them and I wish them great success once the reopen…
I have used two of their very cute stamp sets to create today’s card…All in onesie & You’re purrfect….the images are all so cute in these sets so I had a hard time choosing…
The card base is plain white and so is the top layer….I used distress inks to cover the top layer for a shaded background..I then die cut a mini scalloped stitched rectangle from white cardstock and stamped the little girl in a cat onesie and coloured it in…
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the two playful cats and the balloons and a gift and placed them on the card too…
The sentiment is stamped on a strip of pink glitter cardstock and there is a small speech bubble as well…

HAPPY DIWALI

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Diwali and a prosperous year ahead…!!
Diwali is one of the most important Hindu festival – also known as the festival of lights…since Diwali is always on a no moon day, after the evening prayers everyone lights up their homes with lots of oil lamps, candles and other light displays…every family has their own set of rituals and celebrations to make this festival special…
My Diwali card is a shaker card….the card base is plain white and so is the top layer….I have die cut the top layer using the largest stitched rectangle die….then stamped the paisley stamp repeatedly using Ranger cheese puff dye ink….
I cut out a rectangular section from the top layer and adhered a gold scalloped frame around the cut out area…I then added a piece of acetate from the back…then using craft foam,I created the shaker section, added sequins and closed it with a piece of  cardstock…this was adhered to the card base and then the top layer…
I created the traditional oil lamp using glitter and foil cardstock and added it on top of the shaker window…the sentiment has simply been printed out,cut to size and placed on the card as well…I have also added a few tiny red rhinestones on the card..
Thank you for visiting my blog today….Hope your day is happy and blessed..!!

Bright Birthday Shaker Card

I finally found a big pack of craft foam sheets at a craft store and the first thing I created using a foam sheet was a shaker card….I have made many shaker cards before using shaker pockets or layers of cardstock frames…using foam makes it a bit bulky but I feel that the shaker effect is the best as the sequins get a bit of a room to move around…and shake..!!.  🙂  🙂
Starting with a black cardstock base,I used a stitched rectangle die to create the top layer using watercolor cardstock…then after using a few shades of yellow and orange distress inks on the top layer,I spritzed the weave embossing folder with water and used it to stamp on the top layer…
I die cut a frame for the shaker element using a mini scallop rectangle die and yellow cardstock and a smaller rectangle frame using black foam….I placed the acrylic sheet between the foam and the frame and then put in a mix of sequins and stars….then I cut a black cardstock panel for the shaker backing…I attach a fairy to the black cardstock panel before closing the shaker with it…
Once the shaker was adhered to the top layer,I attached an orange banner with the sentiment heat embossed with white heat embossing powder…I also coloured in and cut out an image of a cute little boy and adhered it to the shaker….
I’m so glad you stopped by to take a look at my card today….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!
