Bright Birthday Card Using Altenew Ornamental Flower

Finally I got a bit of time to update my blog…thank you all for your patience….especially my crafty friends who got concerned for me…let me assure you that all is well and I just got too busy for a bit….even though I am still making cards, I just couldn’t find the time to update my blog for the past few weeks…so today I’m sharing a birthday card with bright flowers and a soft background that I have made using the Distress blending brushes….

I started by applying wilted violet and squeezed lemonade Distress Inks with the blending brushes on a piece of white smooth cardstock….I splattered some water for effect and once dry, I adhered it to a plain white card base…
Next, I stamped the beautiful ornamental flowers and leaves layering stamps on a separate piece of white cardstock using Altenew crisp inks…for the leaves I used sweet leaf, just green, hunter green and evergreen and for the flowers I used sunkissed, orange cream, firebrick, autumn blaze, citrus burst, maple yellow and honey drizzle shades of inks…

I die cut the flowers and the leaves using coordinating dies and once I was happy with the arrangement,I adhered them to the card front..I then stamped the sentiment on a white strip using deep iris dye ink and added a layer of purple glitter strip behind it before adhering it to my card as well… and finally to embellish my card I have added a few jewels..

Birthday Magnolias

I have become such a big fan of the Distress Blending Brushes now…no matter how much I tried with my ink blending, I would always put on too much ink on paper and never get the soft and light results that I really wanted at times…today’s card has layered stamped from Clearly Besotted stamps with a light Distress Ink background using the blending brush..

On a piece of white cardstock,I stamped the Magnolia flowers and leaves using Altenew Inks….I have used¬†frosty pink, pinkalicious, pink diamond and rubellite¬†the flowers and for the leaves and stem I used mocha, parrot and forest glades…I then die cut these flower and leaves using the coordinating dies and set them aside…

I then cut watercolour cardstock to size for the front panel and applied some tumbles glass Distress Ink using the distress blending brush…I also splattered some water for effect as well as some black paint…once the panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment and adhered this panel to the card base….

I adhered the flowers to my card front and add some clear Nuvo drops to embellish it..
