Big Hugs – Pivot Pop Up Card

Interactive cards take more time to create, but the results are almost always definitely worth the effort..I wanted to try making a pivot pop up card but make it simple rather than adding too many elements to it and make it over the top time consuming kind…well, it can be done….and here’s is my card..

Firstly, I ink blended the front panel as well as the inside of the card base using Distress Oxide inks…I have used squeezed lemonade, spiced marmalade, candied apple and black soot shades here…I also splattered a lot of water on both these blended backgrounds…
I started with the front panel by adding the stitched trails on it and then added a die cut oval frame…I adhered a hilly edge at the base of this oval for the elephant to stand on and then adhered this frame to the panel…I added the large scripty stamped and die cut sentiment below it…I adhered a couple of clouds as well and embellished this panel with tiny star sequins before adhering it to the card base..

Next, I die cut the pivot pop up mechanism and adhered it to the inside of my card…the base of this mechanism is die cut from white cardstock and the yellow pop up panel from Lawn Fawn really rainbow paper pack…I also added a the hilly edge at the base for all the animals to sit on..

On a separate piece of white card stock, I stamped and coloured in all the images I required for my card…I then cut them out by hand and placed them on my card…I added some die cut trees at the base and a party banner at the top..I also added a party hat for each of the animals…finally, I stamped the sentiments and a couple of hashtag stamps and the inside of my card was ready as well…

An Inside Shadow Box Christmas Card for Time Out Challenge #111

Recently Jennifer McGuire shared one of the easiest way to create an inside shadow box card and I have tried it out to create this Christmas card for Time Out Challenge #111 where the theme is ‘Holidays’….there was an optional twist of a one layer card, which I obviously haven’t applied to my card..

After creating the two pieces required to create this card base, I first created the card front by making an ocean scene using the make waves stencil and Oxide inks – salty ocean & blueprint sketch….I added a small wavy panel for a bit of dimension …the sentiment was white heat embossed on this panel…
I adhered the coloured in and die cut images of the ice floe, polar bear, a Christmas tree and the presents on the card front and added some gold stars to embellish it….
In the inside of this section, I applied some more Oxide inks with the make waves stencil again to continue the ocean scene from the card front…I stamped the sentiment using black ink and set it aside..

On the second section, I scored and prepared the shadow box as shown in the tutorial by Jennifer McGuire and die cut a large rectangular section from it…I applied some Oxide ink on the inside frame and adhered it to the first section that I had prepared earlier…
Now all I had to to was to add all the coloured in and die cut images on the inside of my card and my card was ready…
It was a bit difficult to take pictures of my card to show how it looks so I’m sharing a small video here…
I’m glad you stopped by to take a look at my card..thank you….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Two Small Shaped Cards

I like to create shaped cards every once in a while….the last time I made one, it was a heart shaped card for a challenge and I wanted to create a few more…they were pretty quick to make so I made two while I was at it…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

For my first card I die cut two scalloped circles from heavyweight white cardstock and adhered them to create the card base…next I die cut a circle from watercolour cardstock for the front panel and applied some Distress Oxide inks on it…I have used salty ocean, blueprint sketch and shaded lilac for this and then dabbed it with a wet stamp shammy to create that background effect…I added a small grassy die cut on this circle and adhered it to the card front…
On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped and coloured in the sheep and cut it out and placed it on the card front…I then stamped the sentiment using black ink and embellished my card with a few clear confetti sequins..

My second card was much quicker to create….I first die cut two edged circles from black cardstock for the card base and one smaller one from kraft cardstock for the front panel…I stamped the sentiment and the pattern with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder…it is a layering stamp, so I heat embossed the sentiment layer with white embossing powder and then adhered this top panel to the card base..
To add a bit of interest, I coloured in the flower and two leaves with a shimmery silver watercolour and adhered some tiny red sequins to embellish it…

I think I spent more time trying to click pictures of these two cards than I did making them…one or both of them kept rolling away…and this is the only picture of these two ‘not in motion’…ha ha..

Two Cards – Anniversary & Congrats

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
I started my first card by creating the flowers for my card first…I stamped the flower heads using squeezed lemonade and seedless preserves Distress Oxide inks and heat embossed the images using a pearl embossing powder…next I applied some Oxide inks to these images directly from the ink pads -spiced marmalade and picked raspberry – and then used my water spritzer with some gold perfect pearls powder mixed with the water and spritzed the images…this made the colour flow all over the image and colour it automatically…once dry, I die cut these images and set them aside to add to the card later…

I cut out the front panel of my card from Bristol cardstock and sponged some salty ocean Oxide ink all over…I then stamped the flower stems using lucky clover Oxide ink and heat embossed them with pearl embossing powder as well…I then used blueprint sketch Oxide ink and the warp speed stencil to print the pattern just above the stems…I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on this panel and adhered it to the card base…

Finally I adhered the flower heads to my card, using adhesive foam squares under a couple of them for a bit of dimension…and to embellish my card I have simply used clear Nuvo drops …

For my second card I have created yet another glazed Distress Oxide background ( I may be addicted to this technique)…I have used seedless preserves, candied apple and picked raspberry shades Oxide inks here…once the inks were dry, I quickly embossed the background using the WRMK geometric next level embossing powder and adhered this panel to the card base…

I die cut the word congrats three times from a thick white cardstock and once from white glitter cardstock and layered them before adhering them to the card…I also die cut two flowers and one leaf cluster from the same white cardstock…I die cut the topmost layer of these from white glitter cardstock as well and adhered them just above the die cut word…to embellish this card I have used some tiny rhinestones…

Smile Crocodile

I have finally been able to try one of the techniques shared by Jennifer McGuire for stamping on Kraft cardstock and getting brighter results from coloured ink…the trick it seems is to stamp first with white pigment ink and then with the coloured ink…and any kind of a stamping tool like the MISTI or TH stamp platform would definitely come in handy…although for my card I have used a stencil not stamps but the process is the same…

After cutting the front panel to size, I used a circle stencil with an inking sponge to apply unicorn white ink and then various Oxide inks to create my pattern…once completely dry,I stamped the chevron grid background stamp covering this panel with watermark ink and then heat embossed it with a super fine pearl embossing powder…I adhered this panel to a Kraft cardstock card base and started on the other elements of my card..

I stamped the cute koala and crocodile on a piece of white cardstock and coloured them in using Zig  pens and a water brush…I die cut them using the coordinating dies and set them aside….I die cut the word smile from white cardstock ) which I coloured blue using salty ocean Oxide ink and two more time from Kraft cardstock and layered them before adhering to the card stock..I stamped the word ‘crocodile’ on a white label and placed it below the large word…

I adhered the koala and crocodile images using some foam squares and also applied some Nuvo gloss to these images for a bit of shine and dimension…to embellish my card I have added some white dot sequins…

All Of Me And My Dragons

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I applied some Distress Oxide inks on my craft mat and sprayed some water….I then used a glossy cardstock and smooshed that ink onto the paper, drying it with a heat gun and repeating the process…I have used black soot, wilted violet, squeezed lemonade and lucky clover shades of oxide inks…once there was enough colour and layers on this panel and it was completely dry, I applied some Distress glaze and buffed it with a soft cloth before adhering it to a plain white card base…

I die cut two city backgrounds…one using black cardstock and another from grey cardstock….I adhered the black one to the card front and reversed the grey one, lightly inked the edges and adhered it on front of the black one using some adhesive foam…
Next, I stamped and coloured in all the images and die cut them and adhered them to the card…I stamped the sentiment on a white label and added some tiny rhinestones to embellish my card..

Life Is Tough,But So Are You

I’m sharing another colourful card today…this one is an encouragement card and in this card I have used an MFT striped background panel die to create the front panel..the little tiger was a last minute addition, but I think it was just perfect for my card…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by die cutting the striped background panel from 110lb white cardstock….I took out the inside sections of this panel and sponged various Distress Oxide inks in the shades of the rainbow….I then die cut another background panel from a colourful dotted paper and adhered that to the white die cut before placing it on a plain black card base,,,I then inserted and adhered the coloured in sections inside…

Next, I die cut the large word ‘YOU’ from black card stock and placed it on the card front….I used white embossing powder to stamp the rest of the sentiment on a black label and adhered it above the large word…I stamped and coloured in the little tiger image and cut it out before placing it just above the sentiment….and finally to embellish my card I have simple added some black Nuvo drops…

Happy Mother’s Day!!

It’s Mother’s Day in Australia on Sunday the 13th of May so here’s wishing all the mums a very happy mother’s day…may your kids always give you a reason to smile..!!

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
After I die cut the background panel and the die cut meadow border,I covered them with various distress and oxide inks,I lifted some of the ink with a lightly wet stamp shammy..I loved the texture it creates but I think this technique would work really great with dark colours…I added some die cut birch trees to the front panel  and then adhered it to a plain white card base…I also stamped some grass using green ink on the meadow border and adhered it to the card with some craft foam for a bit of dimension..

I stamped, coloured in and cut out the elephant images and adhered them to the card front and then added the die cut and stamped sentiment just above…to embellish my cards I have used a lot of clear confetti sequins as well as some Nuvo glaze on the elephants for a bit of shine..

Wreath Turnabout – 2 Cards

I have tried out a couple of turnabout stamps for creating easy and wonderful backgrounds for my cards, but this new wreath turnabout set(Concord & 9th) has a much smaller pattern and there are two of them in the set…my first thought was to create something with copper embossing and that’s what I did for one of my cards…while on the other card I have simply used various Oxide inks to stamp the pattern…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by stamping one of the wreaths on black cardstock with some watermark ink and then heat embossing it with copper embossing powder….it has to be rotated 90 degrees after each stamping a total of four times to get this result…I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and a small heart in the middle of the wreath…
On the front of a plain black card base,I adhered a copper coloured paper cut to the same size as the card front..I cut the embossed black panel to the size required and added some black craft foam underneath then adhered it to the card front and my card was ready…

For my second card I picked out these shades of Distress Oxide inks to stamp the other wreath in the stamp set – twisted citron, cracked pistachio, peacock feather and evergreen bough…I then added some dots and the sentiment label stamped with aged mahogany…
I didn’t want to add any other colour to my card so I covered the front of the card base with aged mahogany before die cutting the stamped front panel and adhering it to the card base…

These wreath stamps are quite beautiful and versatile…I do hope I can remember to use them to create a few Christmas cards later this year..
