Happy Mother’s Day!!

It’s Mother’s Day in Australia on Sunday the 13th of May so here’s wishing all the mums a very happy mother’s day…may your kids always give you a reason to smile..!!
Today I’m sharing a cute card with adorable mama n baby elephants…and I was super happy with myself when I got the idea to put a crown on the mama’s head…also I tried out an ink extracting technique I learnt from a tutorial recently shared by Chanin where she used a chamois cloth to create a pattern on a distress/oxide ink blended background…so easy…

After I die cut the background panel and the die cut meadow border,I covered them with various distress and oxide inks,I lifted some of the ink with a lightly wet stamp shammy..I loved the texture it creates but I think this technique would work really great with dark colours…I added some die cut birch trees to the front panel  and then adhered it to a plain white card base…I also stamped some grass using green ink on the meadow border and adhered it to the card with some craft foam for a bit of dimension..

I stamped, coloured in and cut out the elephant images and adhered them to the card front and then added the die cut and stamped sentiment just above…to embellish my cards I have used a lot of clear confetti sequins as well as some Nuvo glaze on the elephants for a bit of shine..

Have A Roaring Good Birthday

Every time I create a card using the Lawn Fawn critters stamps,I get great results without too much effort…how good is that…??

I started with a top fold white card base and die cut watercolour cardstock top layer…I then colour washed this top layer panel with blue watercolour and used a heat gun to quickly dry it…I was hoping for an ombre effect but it just didn’t happen today as well…so I decided to emboss it using the next level embossing folder…
I added a few die cut birch trees on one side of the top layer and also die cut green cardstock for the base using the pierced rectangle die first and then the hillside border die..I stamped the sentiment and the grass stamp repeatedly on this green panel and before adhering it to the top layer…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the lion and the little bird and coloured them in and cut them out…I applied some glossy accents on these two and once dry,I adhered them onto the card..
To embellish my card I have used some sea breeze Nuvo jewel drops…
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my card….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!

In Case You Didn’t Know…

Sometimes even when you plan so much or try too hard, things don’t go the way you want them to….but sometimes things fall in place so easily that you’re left wondering if it actually happened…I had a rough idea about the card I’m sharing today but it came together so quickly and without any goof ups that I spent quite a bit of time after trying to see if I had done everything right or not…. 🙂
The card base is plain white and I have used watercolor paper for the top layer….first I sponged in some distress inks for the background and used green die ink to stamp the grass…I then die cut a few birch trees, used a bit of distress inks on them and laced them on the card…i also placed a couple of birds on the trees…
I stamped and coloured in the cute hedgehog images on a separate piece of cardstock, cut them out and then placed them on the card..I also stamped the sentiment above those two…
Thank you so much for taking the time and visiting my blog today…Have a wonderful day ahead…!!
