Pivot Pop Up Birthday Card

I have had an awesome time making this pivot pop up card…the Lawn Fawn die makes it super easy and so much fun…I had already seen how it works in a few youtube videos, but the very first time I opened my card after the pop up element was added inside it – I may have squealed like a happy  little child!!!

It was a bit hard to take pictures of how the pop up element works in this card so I’m sharing a video of my finished card first and a few photos as well…
For this card, I have used a plain white top fold card base and simply added a die cut striped purple paper from the LF Really Rainbow paper pack for the front panel…I adhered a coloured in giraffe image and stamped the sentiment directly on the panel…I have also added a little bird above that sentiment and to make the giraffe and the bird look bright and shiny,I applied some Nuvo glaze on them…

Now to the fun part…the pivot pop on the inside of the card…I just had to die cut and assemble the elements which was quite easy…but before I put it all together,I created the scene on the long pop up panel…I used Distress inks to create the background and the trees and then added the coloured in and cut out animals and the tiny die cut clouds…I also stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on this panel…once this panel was ready,I first adhered the pop up mechanism at the center of the card inside and then adhered the panel to it…

I also added some die cut clouds and grass borders on the inside of the card as well as a tiny branch with a parrot on it and my card was ready..I did have to open and close it a few times so that the mechanism starts to work properly and after a while it did..

Cheers – Action Wobble Card

Now this is the very first action wobble card I have tried to make….and I made a very big mistake in choosing the element that actually wobbles…I chose an Elephant….ha ha…just kidding….it does wobble quite well and you can check out the small video I have uploaded here on my Instagram page
I started with a plain white card base and a die cut top layer made from watercolour cardstock which is the same size as the card front…I sponged in some mowed lawn & shabby shutters distress inks all over this top layer and spritzed some water on it for effect…
I then die cut two pieces of watercolour cardstock using stitched scalloped rectangle dies and sponged some tea dye distress ink on it first and then stamped a wood grain stamp using dark brown dye ink….on these panels,I adhered the coloured in sloth and then used an action wobble spring to adhere the elephant…I have also used a few leaf die cuts behind the panel which has the elephant…
The sentiment has been die cut from blue foil cardstock and I have used a few sequins to embellish the card…
Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my creation…Have a blessed day today…!!

Happy Birthday Bunny

I recently discovered a stamp brand that I totally loved called Clearly Besotted….I bought a couple of stamp sets directly from them but before I could even post my first card using their stamps, they have announced closing down temporarily(from 1st Oct 2016)…I’m really looking forward to getting more stamps from them when they re-open in January 2017…
For today’s card I have used a blue card base and a white card base….using the same cardstock as the card base,I used a nesting die set called Lorraine’s Flower to die cut two different size pieces….
I then die cut two stitched circles from white cardstock and stamped the images on them…once the images were coloured in and the sentiment was stamped,I placed the white circles on the blue die cut pieces and placed them on the top layer…finally,I used a large rectangle stitch die to create the border as well as cut off the excess…
I have used blue sequins in various sizes to embellish the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!

Lawn Fawn Critters – Friends

As soon as I showed the completed card to my hubby and kids, there was quite a bit of a discussion  on whether a lion and a leopard would be friends or not…well, the card was ready but we kept discussing the lion-leopard friendship….I thought they would be great friends….what do you think…would they be friends because they have so many similar traits or would they be rivals due to the same…??
I chose a bright orange card base for my card and a die cut watercolor cardstock for the top layer…I then used distress ink and water on a small bit of acetate sheet and smooshed the ink onto the watercolor paper…
Once the top layer was dry,I die cut three different colours of cardstock using the hillside border dies and adhered them on it…I stamped the sentiment on one side and the sun on the other…
I stamped the lion and the leopard on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured them in using Spectrum Noir markers and then cut them out…I then covered both these images with glossy accents and set them aside to dry before placing then on the card…
Thanks a lot for visiting my blog today…Have a great day ahead….!!

Lawn Fawn Critters – Thanks A Bunch

I spent a fair bit of time to plan out today’s card and am very happy with the result…hope you like it too… 🙂
The card base is plain white and the top layer is white as well..firstly,I used a few distress inks to colour in the top layer and then used a bamboo embossing folder and placed the top layer back to front in order to get a debossed front…I had also brushed the bamboo part of the embossing folder with some water which sort of lightened the ink in that section..I then used one of the stitched border die on all four sides to create a nice embossed border..

I stamped the vine for the monkey and the sentiment directly onto the top layer using black ink…the elephant, monkey, little bird and the foliage has been stamped on a separate piece of cardstock…coloured in,cut out and then placed on the card…

Finally I have used a few blue sequins to embellish the card…

I’m glad you stopped by to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Lawn Fawn Critters – Adorable Elephants

Today’s card is bright and colourful….my favorite kind of card….I liked the elephant image from Lawn Fawn stamps so much that I decided to use my mini MISTI to create a mirror image for this card…coz what’s better than one cute elephant..??Two cute elephants…!!  🙂
The card base is plain pink and I have used watercolor cardstock for the top layer….I used pink and orange shades of distress inks to cover the top layer and then used an embossing folder and water spritzer (instead of stamp and ink) to create the background….once it was dry,I stamped the sentiment using black ink….
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the two elephant images then cut them out and placed them on the card…I also die cut a heart using red glitter cardstock and placed it behind the elephants’ heads….finally I adhered a few silver sequins in various sizes to embellish the card…
Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my card today…Happy crafting…!!

Lawn Fawn Critters – Hi There

As soon as I bought a couple of Lawn Fawn stamp sets,I knew I was going make quite a few cards with them….they are all very cute but I like the fact that the images aren’t too small or intricate….makes it easy to colour in and cut out…
For today’s card,I chose a plain white card base and die cut the the top layer using the cross stitched rectangle die….I then used a few shades of yellow distress inks to cover the top layer and then used a brown ink and wood grain stencil to print the pattern….
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped coloured in and cut out the animal images and placed them on the card…I stamped the sentiment using black ink and placed a few sequins to embellish the card…
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog today…Have a wonderful day ahead…!!
