Sending Smiles Across The Miles

Another funny card today….and I have been laughing so much while making this one…the expressions on the faces of these Katzelkraft monsters are absolutely hilarious and just perfect for my card….I also decided to  use frames for these images to add some interest and depth to my card…

I die cut the front panel from white cardstock and sponged in some Distress inks to create the background…I have used crushed olive, antique linen, milled lavender and victorian velvet shades of inks…I splattered some water for effect and set this panel aside to dry….

I stamped the monster images on a piece of white cardstock and coloured in the face portions only…..I then die cut the images using the Lawn Fawn mini picture frames dies….I die cut one more set of frames from white card stock and layered the outside frames to add dimension…

Once I knew where my frames were going to be placed on my card, I stamped the sentiment on the front panel and adhered it to a plain white card base…I adhered all the frames to my card and then added some tiny pink stars to embellish it..

Colourful Clouds And Fairies Birthday Card

I have used quite a few Distress Ink colours for the background of my card but have actually managed keep the images and sentiment in focus and not the background…the cute fairy images are from a stamp set by The Greeting Farm called Little Fairies..

I started by die cutting the front panel from white cardstock using the large stitched rectangle die and then used some Distress Inks and the MFT mini cloud stencil to create the background…I have sponged the inks lightly and these are the shades I used – salty ocean, squeezed lemonade, spun sugar, twisted citron and shaded lilac..
I stamped the sentiment at the base of this panel using black ink and then adhered it to a plain white card base..

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the two fairies and then cut them out and adhered them onto the card using some thin adhesive foam squares…I used a few pink and gold sequins to embellish my card…

Twice The Wishes

I’m sharing a very colourful birthday card today and I loved creating the background for it..Distress Inks are still my absolute favorites..I also like the bright pink candles on it…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by die cutting the front panel of the card from white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die…I used three dies from the MFT mini scallop rectangle stax to emboss this panel…

Then using some scrap paper and an edge die,I created a few masks which I used with distress inks to create this colourful background…I splattered some water on this panel and quickly dabbed it with a paper towel..

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the candles using a dark pink dye ink and the flames using yellow ink…I cut out each one of the candles and adhered them to the card front using some adhesive foam underneath…
I stamped the sentiment on a large white banner and adhered it on top of the candles….I embellished my card using some very tiny Nuvop drops…

Two Cards With Purple Flowers In Focus

For both my cards today, I coloured the focal flower images using the colour purple…..they may look pretty similar but I have used different techniques to create them…

For my first card I chose a plain white card base and die cut the top layer from white cardstock as well using a large dotted rectangle die..

Next,I stamped the leaf images from the Altenew Peony Scroll stamp set using watermark ink and heat embossed it using silver embossing powder..
Then on a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the flowers and a few more leaves and heat embossed them using silver embossing powder as well…I coloured these images using Gansai Tambi watercolours and cut them out once dry and placed them onto the card front…
I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock ad cut it out and placed it on the card as well..

My second card is different from the first one in a way that I have not used any embossing in this one and used grey dye ink to create the background instead….
The card base is a light lavender colour and the top layer has been die cut from white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die on which I stamped the flower images to create the background…I die cut a label and stamped the sentiment and placed it on the card using some craft foam behind it..

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped a few of the flower images using black ink and coloured then in using Spectrum Noir markers…I added one flower behind the label and another above it for a bit of dimension…
Finally I added a few black Nuvo drops and my card was ready…here’s a closer look of this card..

Thanks For Being So Awesome

I used a Paper Smooches cat stamp recently and wanted to make a card using another one of the cute critters ,so I pulled out the Chubby Chums set as well as a new sentiments stamp set called Uplifters to make a quick card…and I just love it when quick cards turn out as good as this one did..

I started with a plain white card base and a white die cut top layer…I used a stripey stencil and broken china Distress Ink to create the background…to make it a bit interesting, I splattered some silver paint on it…once dry,I stamped the sentiment using black ink and adhered the top layer to the card base….

I stamped the cute moose on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured it in using Spectrum Noir markers…I cut it out and applied a bit of glossy accents on it and once it was dry,I adhered it to the card front using some adhesive foam squares….

To embellish my card I have used quite a few blue and silver star sequins…

Amazing – That’s What You Are

I chose softer colours for today’s card…since I usually choose bright colours,to make cards with soft colours I have to keep reminding myself to stick to the plan… 🙂

The card base is made from lavender colour textured cardstock and I have die cut white cardstock using stitched rectangle die for the front panel…I covered this panel with shaded lilac, iced spruce and weathered wood Distress inks….I then used stitched star dies to dry emboss this panel as well…

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped one of the fairies from the Penny Black stamp set and coloured it in..I cut it out and applied some glossy accents on it and let it dry before placing it on the card…
I die cut the word ‘Amazing’ using blue shimmer cardstock and then using blue craft foam, layered them before adhering it to the card…I stamped the rest of the sentiment on a strip of blue shimmer cardstock as well…

To embellish my card I punched out butterflies from a piece of cardstock on which I had applied some blue watercolour…I also added a tiny purple rhinestone on each of these butterflies…Here is a close up shot of the fairy..

Two Cute Piggy Cards – My 500th Blog Post

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today…it’s my 500th blog post…it’s been two years of blogging for me and I’m amazed at how encouraging and lovely the cardmakers all over the world are and am thankful to all…

Now to the cards I’m sharing today…the piggy stamp I’ve used are from set that has been aptly named ‘Sow Much Cuteness’ by MFT Stamps….all the images are super cute and the sentiments are great as well…today I’m sharing two cards that I have made with this set..

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
For my first card I chose a white card base and a die cut dark blue top layer…I then used a self made cloud stencil and white pigment ink to create the cloud background on the blue top layer…this technique was shown by Jennifer McGuire in one of her tutorials – 6 Quick Stencil Techniques and it has taken me so long to try it out..
I then die cut a grassy border from lime green cardstock and adhered it to the base of the top layer…I stamped the sentiment using watermark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder and then adhered this top layer to  the card base…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped the piggy images, coloured them in and cut them out before placing them on the card using some foam squares..I punched three small butterflies from pink glitter cardstock and used them to embellish my card…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
For my second card I used a white card base as well as a white top layer….to create the scene of a jumping piggy on this card I first die cut clouds from blue and white glitter cardstock as well as a rainbow from white cardstock(which my younger daughter coloured in using Distress Inks)…once these were adhered to the top layer,I used a large stitched rectangle stencil to cut off the excess before adhering it to the card base…
Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri
Now all I had to do was add the coloured in piggy image using foam squares, stamp the sentiment and add a cute butterfly and my card was ready…

A Fairy Spinner Card

Interactive cards are so much fun…to make and to give…I don’t know why I wasn’t making them more often…today I’m sharing my very first slider card…

I chose a light blue textured cardstock for the card base and then die cut watercolour cardstock for the front of the card using a stitched rectangle die….I then sponged in some distress inks to create the background of the front panel..I have used shaded lilac, wilted violet and seedless preserves here…then using blueprint sketch distress ink and stars stencil, Printed the stars all over the panel…I also splattered some white paint on it..
Next,I started to assemble the spinner part of the card…firstly I cut out a coloured in image of the little fairy and then prepared the spinner disc by adhering two circle die cuts on each side of the disc…one circle gets attached to the back of the fairy image…
I then die cut the spinner channel out of the top layer I prepared earlier and adhered craft foam behind the front panel…I slotted in the fairy into the channel and then adhered the panel to the front of the card…
The spinner part is now ready,so all I had to do now was to add the sentiment and a few embellishments…
I have added a small video on my Instagram account if you’d like to see how this spinner card works/spins..
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card today…Happy crafting…!!

You Can Always Lean On Me

These happy hedgehogs from MFT are adorable aren’t they??I just need to add them to a card and it instantly adds cuteness to it…this time I made a simple one layer card using this stamp set with the sentiment banner on top…

On a die cut watercolor cardstock card front,I stamped the hedgehogs, grass and the little butterfly using black ink and then die cut a circle using some scrap paper….with that circle die cut I created a mask for the stamped area and used Distress Inks to create the background…the shades I have used are abandoned coral, candied apple, fired brick and ground espresso…I spritzed a bit of water for effect and once dry,I removed the mask…
I coloured in the images using Spectrum Noir markers and created a small banner to stamp the sentiment on…and finally I have used a few clear sequins to embellish this card…
I’m so glad you stopped by to take a look at my card today….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Thank You

I can’t even remember how I made backgrounds for cards until I started using Distress Inks….and now I can’t stop using them…the best part is that even if everyone used the same colours, not two cards would be similar…I have been watching videos for the newly released Distress Oxide ink pads…and they look even more amazing…let’s see when I will be able to get those…my birthday probably.. 🙂

For today’s card I have chosen a peach-ish pink textured cardstock and have die cut a watercolour cardstock panel using a stitched rectangle die first and then die cut one end using the stitched scallop edges die…I then sponged in worn lipstick and weathered wood distress inks and used an embossing folder and water to create a pattern/effect on this panel…
The sentiment has been stamped using watermark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder…I cut out the stamped and coloured in images of a pot and succulents and  placed them below the sentiment…I have used a few sequins to embellish this card…

Believe In Magic

I used Prismacolor pencils for the very first time…I loved the brightness of the canary yellow in the set..I need to practice more with these but couldn’t resist creating one card for now..
The card base is plain white and the base layer is a kind of pear green shade which I have die cut using stitched rectangle die…I have heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder at the top left of this layer and added a cute little fairy(The Greeting Farm) beside it..
The top layer is plain white and I first stamped and coloured in the images and the die cut this layer using a stitched edge die..I added craft foam under this layer before adhering it to the base layer…
Finally I added some clear star sequins to embellish this card..

What could I do for you?

I am not Super-woman or have any magical powers but there a few people in my life for whom I know that I’d do almost anything in their time of need…they are the silent ones who stand by me and offer unconditional support that too without influencing any of my decisions…
The card I’m sharing today has a plain white card base and a watercolor paper top layer….I then used distress inks to create the background including a bit of masking to create the heavily clouded sky
Using the Lawn fawn hillside border dies and some brown and kraft cardstock,I die cut the hilly base…so once the top layer was ready I ran it through my Cuttlebug using a stitched rectangle die…
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped and coloured in the dragon, the prince and the princess and cut them out before placing them on the card…I also added a die cut tree next to the princess…
Finally I added the sentiment on a tag…added a bit of bakers twine and adhered it to the card…
I’m glad you stopped by my blog to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

There’s No Such Thing As Too Many Candles

Age is not how old you are,but how many years of fun you’ve had….and I completely agree with this quote…people who have fun in life are focused on living and not the number of years they’ve lived…I had made this card for a very jolly natured guy who just celebrated his 60+something birthday a little while back…
For the card base I chose a bright yellow textured cardstock and a black top layer…I then sponged in a few shades of blue distress inks on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut it out to create the  strips for the sunburst background….
Using the hillside border die I cut orange foil cardstock for the base and embossed it using the quilted WRMK next level embossing folder…I adhered it to the top layer and ran the top layer through my cuttlebug using the largest stitched rectangle die…it not only looks good but cut off all the excess paper without much effort…
I then stamped lots of candles from MFT Make a Wish Stamp Set and cut them out and placed them on the card…
Lastly,I stamped the sentiment using white pigment ink on a wide strip of black cardstock and placed it on the card…
Thank you so much for taking the time and visiting my blog today…Have a wonderful day ahead…!!
