6 Quick Christmas Cards

I got very inspired by a blog post from last month by my friend Therese Calvrid ( Lost In Paper blog ) when I decided to start my Christmas cards for this year….I really liked how she made the fantastic backgrounds for her cards by repeat stamping…I think it’s a great way to get into the swing of festive cardmaking…especially for someone like me who had yet to make a start.. šŸ™‚

I have created the backgrounds for all my cards in the same way…I first chose all the images from the stamp set that I wanted to repeat stamp… I then stamped it all over the white front panel using blackĀ  onyx Versafine ink and stuck these panel to a plain white card base…

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped some of the same images and some other images that I wanted to place on the card front..I clear embossed and then coloured these images using my alcohol markers…

I stamped the sentiments on a red cardstock (blue cardstock for one card) using watermark ink and heat embossed them all using white embossing powder…I cut them into strips and adhered them to the card front using some adhesive foam strips for a bit of dimension…

Next, I adhered the die cut images to the cards, making sure not to add too many…I added a bit of embellishments to them all and my cards were ready…

Bright & Colourful Goody Bags

I think the most gift wrapping and packaging anyone does at one time has got to be at Christmastime…and because you just can’t wrap every single thing with wrapping paper(trust me,I’ve tried…ha ha..),you would need boxes or bags or other such stuff…and my no.1 favorite website to find tutorials and measurements for all kinds of packaging is theĀ PootlesĀ blog…
Today I’m sharing goody bags I created following this tutorial uploaded by Sam last month – Tall Festive Bag
I chose the most bright and colourful printed paper I had for these bags keep the festive theme going…
Once the bags were ready, I used my triple banner punch to create two banners for each bag…on the top banner I stamped the lovely sentiments from lawn Fawn stamp set called Merry Messages..

Lots Of Smiles

I have recently bought a small bottle of Pebeo drawing gum in the hope that it will help me do better masking for certain projects like I have seen in a few tutorials by Kristina Werner….to begin with,I tried it out to create a snow background for today’s card…
The card base is plain white and I have die cut watercolour paper to size for the top layer using a stitched rectangle die…I also die cut a small eyelet circle for the top layer…..I then carefully splattered the drawing gum on both using a thin brush and set it aside to dry completely which didn’t take too long so I covered them with Twinkling H20 blue watercolour called Twilight…it really shines beautifully but I am unable to show it in this photograph…
Once the paint was dry,I was able to just rub off the gum using my fingers to reveal bright white spots that look like snow….the Xyron adhesive eraser works better for rubbing off this gum..
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and die cut the cute reindeer by Clearly Besotted….I also die cut a larger eyelet circle from white glitter cardstock for layering…
I heat embossed the sentiment on the top circle…placed it on top of the glitter layer and adhered them both to the top layer…and finally I placed the reindeer in place…
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog today…Hope you will have a wonderful day ahead…!!

The Merry Snowmen

It’s summers in Australia at the moment and becomes a bit hard to imagine snowfall and snowmen at Christmastime…but there is no shortage of Christmas joy, celebrations and happiness in the holiday season here….all the primary and secondary school children will finish their school year in a weeks time and are looking forward to summer holidays before the new session/grade begins at the end of January…people and businesses had already started putting up decorations a month ago…
Today I’m sharing a cheerful card with three cute snowmen…the card base is plain lavender and I have die cut watercolour cardstock to size using the largest stitched rectangle die…then I used distress inks, water and a piece of acetate to smoosh the ink onto the top layer..I also splattered quite a bit of purple ink and set it adise to dry …
Using the hillside borders die,I created three hills in various shades of blue and adhered them to the top layer…I stamped, coloured in and cut out the three snowmen and placed them on the card..
The sentiment has been stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed using a purple embossing powder…and finally I have used purple snowflake die cuts and a few rhinestones to embellish this card…
Thanks a lot for visiting my blog today…Hope you will have a great day ahead….Happy crafting..!!

Sending Joy – Shaker Card

When I tried out the word window shaker card earlier,I missed a couple of steps and wanted to try it out again….and what better than a Christmas card with some colourful sequins in the shaker…
Here is the link to the tutorial video by Therese Calvrid that inspired me to make this card – Word window Shaker Card
The card base is plain pink and the top layer is made from watercolour cardstock….using a pink distress ink and water on a small acetate sheet,I smooshed the colour onto the watercolour cardstock…
I die cut the word JOY from the top layer and adhered a piece of acetate under it…to create the shaker element I have used craft foam under the top layer…
Last time I forgot to add something contrasting at the base of the shaker element…thankfully this time I remembered and added a few strips of green glitter tape…to finish the shaker element,I simply added the sequins and adhered the top section to the card base…
I then die cut large deer from brown cardstock and adhered it to the card….I also stamped the rest of the sentiment on two pink banners and placed them onto the card…
To embellish the card I have used a few gold star sequins…
