A Halloween Card

Many Australians have started to celebrate Halloween nowadays, but I guess it’s mostly for dressing up and having fun…I do get a few kids in costumes turning up at my door for trick or treating…but that’s about it…I have managed to make a couple of cards for Halloween this year…sharing the first one today and the second one in my next post…

I decided to make interactive Halloween cards, and this one has three flaps on the front, which when opened shows images of cute little ghosts…I have mostly used Lawn Fawn stamps and dies for this card..

I started by die cutting a front panel from white cardstock using large stitched rectangle die…I then sponged in some Distress Oxide inks to cover this panel…I have used fossilized amber, spiced marmalade and vintage photo shades here…I also splattered some gold paint on it…then, using the smallest die from Lift The Flap die set,I die cut three sections in the middle of the panel…
I die cut the word ‘happy’ from black cardstock and adhered it above the flaps and stamped the word ‘Halloween’ underneath using black ink..I also die cut the word BOO from black cardstock as well as black craft foam using an uppercase die set and adhered these above the flaps..

I used a plain white card base and lightly marked the spaces that would show once you lift the flaps…I stamped  and coloured in the ghost images and because they looked a bit dull,I masked them and used Distress Inks to create a colourful background..I have used wilted violet, carved pumpkin and evergreen bough shades of Distress Inks…
I adhered the front panel to my card base and my card was ready..

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog…Have a great day ahead..Happy crafting..!!

Monsters Celebrate!

Bright and colourful cards make me happy….and I love making these kinds of cards for children…I had made a Halloween card using the Lawn Fawn Monster Mash stamp set last year but wanted to make a birthday card from it…and here it is…
The card base is made from a textured lilac coloured cardstock and for the top layer I have cut watercolor paper to size…I then started sponging in various distress inks for the background…and since I didn’t want to add layers to this card or make it bulky,I created a mask from scrap paper to create the hills in the background…I then splattered some blue glitter onto the top layer and set it aside to dry…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured in all the cute little monsters and cut them out…going through all my stamps I found a few party hats, presents, balloons, cupcake stamps with which I could create the party look…
Once all the images were adhered to the card,I added a couple of googly eyes on two of the monsters for a bit of a fun element…I stamped the sentiment and added a white faux stitch border on the card to finish it..
Thank you for your visit today…I’m glad you stopped by my blog…Have a wonderful day ahead…!!

Happy Halloween!!

Wishing you a fun filled Halloween with lots of magical surprises…!!
May you get lots of treats that are yummy to eat…!!
Today I’m sharing my very first Halloween card…it’s quite simple since I did not have many supplies  for one but I guess I had to start somewhere…
The card base is plain black and instead of a single top layer I have used two orange mats….on the bottom section I have used a grey cardstock and stamped the tree and adhered googly eyes on them and created a couple of spiders with those as well…
On the top mat I have used a different shade of orange and stamped the sentiment on it…I have adhered two more of the googly eyes here…
Finally I stamped a few monsters from the Lawn Fawn monster mash stamp set onto a piece of vellum and cut them out before adding them to my card…
Thanks for stopping by today…..HAPPY HALLOWEEN…..!!
