Amazing – That’s What You Are

I chose softer colours for today’s card…since I usually choose bright colours,to make cards with soft colours I have to keep reminding myself to stick to the plan… ๐Ÿ™‚

The card base is made from lavender colour textured cardstock and I have die cut white cardstock using stitched rectangle die for the front panel…I covered this panel with shaded lilac, iced spruce and weathered wood Distress inks….I then used stitched star dies to dry emboss this panel as well…

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped one of the fairies from the Penny Black stamp set and coloured it in..I cut it out and applied some glossy accents on it and let it dry before placing it on the card…
I die cut the word ‘Amazing’ using blue shimmer cardstock and then using blue craft foam, layered them before adhering it to the card…I stamped the rest of the sentiment on a strip of blue shimmer cardstock as well…

To embellish my card I punched out butterflies from a piece of cardstock on which I had applied some blue watercolour…I also added a tiny purple rhinestone on each of these butterflies…Here is a close up shot of the fairy..

Fierce Friends Birthday Wishes – MFT Colour Challenge 74

I wanted to try out my new MFT dies and stamps and what better way than to create something for a card challenge…so I made this card using the colours that were given out forย MFT Color Challenge 74…I didn’t plan it this way but I think this would be a great card for a little boy or even twin boys birthday..

Here is the colour combination for this challenge and I have managed to use all four in my card…

I started by sponging on a couple of Distress Inks shades onto the white top layer…I have used weathered wood and old paper here….the weathered wood colour was the closest to the gray colour in the challenge…I then splattered some water on this panel for effect..

Then using three strips of textured cardstock in the colours from the challenge,I die cut the fringed scallop borders and adhered them to the top layer…I also stamped the sentiment using onyx Versafine ink, leaving enough space for the tiger cubs…

I adhered this top layer to the card base and then added the stamped and cut out images of the tigers…I have used adhesive foam for a bit of dimension…and finally I used just a few sparkling clear sequins to embellish my card..

I’m so glad you stopped by my blog today…thank you for your visit…hope you will have a fabulous and creative day ahead..!!

You Are Way Amazing

I don’t think I will ever tire of using Distress inks to create backgrounds for my cards…I love all the bright shades in this ink range and use them often…I still have to figure out what to use the lighter shades for…
Today’s card has a plain white card base and a white top layer as well…on the top layer I have used three shades of distress inks to create the background…once the background was ready,I used a stencil and white pigment ink to sponge on the dots…
I stamped little Tilda blowing bubbles on a separate piece of cardstock and coloured it in,cut it out and placed it on the card…I stamped part of the sentiment with black ink and the ‘amazing’ word has been die cut from white cardstock…
I used clear sequins to embellish the card…the best part was that the clear sequins looked like bubbles that Tilda was blowing from her bubble blower…
Thank you for taking the time and visiting my blog today…Have a wonderful day ahead…!!

Super Special Amazing Birthday

I love creating backgrounds for my cards and this one was quite fun….the best part was that it wasn’t planned but still turned out great….I like things this way…sometimes too much planning takes all the fun away don’t you think??
I started with a Kraft card base and a watercolor paper top layer…I first sponged the top layer lightly with some squeezed lemonade distress ink and splattered a bit of water on it for effect….once it was dry I used the negative section of the leaf die cut as a stencil and shabby shutters distress ink to print the leaves onto the top layer…
I placed the three die cut leaves onto the top layer and placed the coloured in and cut out image of Boris the Badger on top of the leaves….I stamped the sentiment using black ink and have used a few sequins to embellish the card…

Split Card Design

Stamping doesn’t always go to plan…especially for me…so I usually am super careful or else I end up spending too much time either trying to hide the mistake or starting again…so I decided to finally get myself the Mini Misti stamping tool by My Sweet Petunia and it’s simply awesome…I even had a project tutorial bookmarked for trying out my Mini Misti…
The project is by Jennifer McGuire and called Split Card Design….I made two sets of cards after following her tutorial…Jennifer has also used heat embossing on her cards but I decided not to and assembled the card right after I stamped the top layers…
I’m sure one look at the cards and you must have worked out how these were made….I stamped one white top layer with blue ink and a blue top layer with black ink….the Misti tool comes in super handy here as both layers need to to stamped exactly the same way…I then held both these layers together under the trimmer and cut them horizontally right through the middle of the large stamped word…
All I had to do then was to swap the bottom parts of the layers and stick them onto the card base….I have used a few sequins to embellish the cards…

I got pretty excited about this split card technique and made another set… ๐Ÿ™‚
