Twice The Wishes

I’m sharing a very colourful birthday card today and I loved creating the background for it..Distress Inks are still my absolute favorites..I also like the bright pink candles on it…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade By Pri

I started by die cutting the front panel of the card from white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die…I used three dies from the MFT mini scallop rectangle stax to emboss this panel…

Then using some scrap paper and an edge die,I created a few masks which I used with distress inks to create this colourful background…I splattered some water on this panel and quickly dabbed it with a paper towel..

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the candles using a dark pink dye ink and the flames using yellow ink…I cut out each one of the candles and adhered them to the card front using some adhesive foam underneath…
I stamped the sentiment on a large white banner and adhered it on top of the candles….I embellished my card using some very tiny Nuvop drops…

Camp Create Day 4 + Bonus Bonfire – Monochromatic Magic & Awesome Ombre

There were two techniques shared on the My Favorite Things blog for MFT Camp Create Day 4 and Camp Create Bonus Bonfire and I tried  out both of them and am sharing them in today’s post…while the ombre technique card came together very quickly, the monochromatic one took a while as I don’t invest much in background stamps and didn’t have any for this technique,so had to really think hard to come up with a design that I was happy with…

For the Monochromatic Magic technique, I chose a textured pink cardstock for the card base and die cut the top layer from white cardstock…then using my Misti and the candles from Make A Wish stamp set,I  covered the a bottom section of the candles with abandoned coral Distress Oxide ink and stamped it on the white panel…similarly,I used picked raspberry and worn lipstick for the rest of the candles and the flame…I used the abandoned coral shade again to stamp the hearts in the flame and used some glossy accents on them for a bit of dimension…

The sentiment was much easier to create…I die cut the sentiment from white cardstock and used the same shades of Distress inks and the mini ink blending tool to create the ombre effect on it.. die cut the sentiment again from white craft foam and adhered the two before placing them on the card…

I also added craft foam under the top panel before adhering it to the card base…I have used a few sparkling clear sequins to embellish my card…

For participating in Day 4 of MFT Camp Create I have earned this badge…

The second technique was shared in the Camp Create Bonus Bonfire….it was great to learn how Stephanie created her cards using the ombre technique to create the background as well as colour in the images…I had already used Distress Inks for my previous few cards,so I decided to use some watercolors to create this card…

I started by creating the blue ombre background for the front panel of my card…I saturated the watercolor cardstock panel with water first and then started adding blue Peerless Watercolor slowly from the base upwards so that the colour lightens toward the top section…once dry,I die cut this panel and adhered it to a plain white card base…

On a separate piece of watercolor cardstock,I stamped the flower and leaf images from the Fancy Flowers stamp set using black onyx Versafine ink and then heat embossed them using clear embossing powder….I then used the same technique as the background panel to colour in these images for an ombre effect…
Once dry,I die cut them using the coordinating dies and adhered them onto the card front…I adhered one of the flowers using some adhesive foam for a bit of dimension…
From the leftover piece of the front panel,I stamped and die cut the sentiment and adhered it to the card front using some craft foam underneath…to embellish my card I have simply added a few Nuvo morning dew clear drops…

Fierce Friends Birthday Wishes – MFT Colour Challenge 74

I wanted to try out my new MFT dies and stamps and what better way than to create something for a card challenge…so I made this card using the colours that were given out for MFT Color Challenge 74…I didn’t plan it this way but I think this would be a great card for a little boy or even twin boys birthday..

Here is the colour combination for this challenge and I have managed to use all four in my card…

I started by sponging on a couple of Distress Inks shades onto the white top layer…I have used weathered wood and old paper here….the weathered wood colour was the closest to the gray colour in the challenge…I then splattered some water on this panel for effect..

Then using three strips of textured cardstock in the colours from the challenge,I die cut the fringed scallop borders and adhered them to the top layer…I also stamped the sentiment using onyx Versafine ink, leaving enough space for the tiger cubs…

I adhered this top layer to the card base and then added the stamped and cut out images of the tigers…I have used adhesive foam for a bit of dimension…and finally I used just a few sparkling clear sequins to embellish my card..

I’m so glad you stopped by my blog today…thank you for your visit…hope you will have a fabulous and creative day ahead..!!

Birthday Cards Using Acetate

It’s been a very long time since I’ve been planning to try out acetate cards…went through quite a few tutorials by card makers who shared great tips and techniques and felt I should give it a try…so I made two cards…the first one has an acetate panel in the front and the second one has a clear acetate front..

I have used kraft cardstock for my first card….I created a section to place the acetate and then adhered it to the card…I stamped  one sentiment on the card front and another one inside which can been seen through the acetate panel…

On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped three candles and cut them out and placed them on the card…I have also used glossy accents on the flames of these candles for a bit of shine…
To embellish this card I have wrapped a bit of gold string on the front and adhered some punched out tiny circles that seem like confetti which I have added on the inside of this card so they can be seen through the acetate panel…

My second card has a full acetate front panel…I cut the acetate about half an inch longer than the card front so that once I scored it to size,I would be able to adhere the cardstock I used for the card back to it..

I stamped the little boy holding the large balloon and the sentiment on the panel using Stazon jet black ink…I don’t know if any other ink works on acetate but I know for sure that this one does…

Using Spectrum Noir markers I coloured in the images…you can see on the balloon that it didn’t work too well but it was ok on the small image…

I added a few silver star sequins to embellish this card…

A Dragon Card & Prince Charming Tag

Today I am so happy to share a card and a tag that I have made using the MFT Magical Dragons stamp set….I had a rough idea about the design of this card but was so excited when it all came together…
The card base and top layer are both plain white….I masked the top layer at an angle using a scrap piece of paper and repeat stamped the sentiment to create an interesting background…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped, coloured in and cut out the cute dinosaur image and  three candles…I placed them on the top layer in a way that it seems that the dinosaur is blowing the candles…
I have stamped the sentiment using watermark ink on a strip of black cardstock and then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder…

Me And My Daily Papercraft Blog - Handmade Card by PriCreatedI kept the tag quite simple…the tag base has been die cut using the MFT tag builder 5 blueprints and I have used distress inks to create the background…I then die cut the tag border and adhered it to the base tag…

On a separate piese of cardstock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the little prince image and placed it on the tag…I heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of coloured cardstock using white embossing powder and placed it on the tag…

Finally I added a piece of blue ribbon and some tiny star sequins and my tag was ready…

There’s No Such Thing As Too Many Candles

Age is not how old you are,but how many years of fun you’ve had….and I completely agree with this quote…people who have fun in life are focused on living and not the number of years they’ve lived…I had made this card for a very jolly natured guy who just celebrated his 60+something birthday a little while back…
For the card base I chose a bright yellow textured cardstock and a black top layer…I then sponged in a few shades of blue distress inks on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut it out to create the  strips for the sunburst background….
Using the hillside border die I cut orange foil cardstock for the base and embossed it using the quilted WRMK next level embossing folder…I adhered it to the top layer and ran the top layer through my cuttlebug using the largest stitched rectangle die…it not only looks good but cut off all the excess paper without much effort…
I then stamped lots of candles from MFT Make a Wish Stamp Set and cut them out and placed them on the card…
Lastly,I stamped the sentiment using white pigment ink on a wide strip of black cardstock and placed it on the card…
Thank you so much for taking the time and visiting my blog today…Have a wonderful day ahead…!!
