Merry Kissmoose

I knew from the very second I got this stamp set called Chubby Chum Pals from Paper Smooches that I will be using it for a Christmas card for sure…and now that I have made it, I also plan to enter it in the Paper Smooches December Challenge….
I have chosen a plain white card base and die cut the top layer from white cardstock as well using a stitched rectangle die…I had some left over scrap paper from a circle mask I had used – you might even call it a negative die cut, so I used that to mask the top layer and sponged in some very bight distress inks to create a focus area for the cute moose…
I stamped the moose wearing a Christmas hat on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured it in and adhered it to the card…then I stamped the Christmas light stamp from the same set a few times and coloured them in…I have used a Copic black multi liner to create the wire string…
I decided not to embellish this card but have used glossy accents on some elements to give a bit of dimension and shine…

Selfies on Cards

Amy Lee -The Craft Bunny is another extremely talented card maker and her blog is full of colourful and beautiful cards and some of them have tutorial videos as well…one of her tutorials that I absolutely loved teaches the Selfie Technique…my cards are nowhere near Amy’s but I had a whole lot of fun trying out this technique to make two cards with whatever stamps I had on hand…

The first card has a white card base and a glitter printed bright top layer….I created a colourful birthday party scene for this selfie and then adhered it to the back of a large Polaroid die cut…I stamped the sentiment on the Polaroid die and added a few enamel dots to embellish the card…

For my second card I chose a light yellow card base and a bright orange top layer…then using the Tim Holtz Cityscapes London stamp,I created 3 scenes and added a koala and a kitten image as the tourists taking these selfies…I added these scenes at the back of the small die cut Polaroid frames and adhered these on the top layer…I stamped the sentiment on the top layer and added a few clear sequins as well…

Oh Crab..I Forgot..

Unless a phone app or Facebook reminds us of upcoming birthdays and anniversaries, most of us easily forget….but look at the bright side…due to these app etc. we are wishing more people than we ever used to and that can’t be bad…
For today’s card I started with a plain black card base….I then cut up watercolor paper to size for the top layer and simply brushed on some blue and pink Peerless watercolors on it…..once dry,I used a few stitched border dies to create a bit of an effect on the top layer…
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped coloured in and cut out the crab image before placing it on the center of the card…I wanted the crab to look a bit sad but my colouring in skills don’t extend that far…ha ha…I stamped the sentiment just above using black ink and decided not to embellish the card at all…

We Love You Card

Get Well Wishes

August is the last month of winters here and I can’t wait for spring….it’s been quite wet, wild and freezing in July and almost everyone I know has been down with cold and flu and other winter related illnesses…
I have made today’s card using another one of the cute animal images from Paper Smooches stamp set called Chubby Chum Pals….the card base is plain black and the top layer has been created using distress inks and a stencil…I first covered the top layer with squeezed lemonade distress ink and then used mustard seed distress ink over the stencils to print the pattern…
I die cut the word ‘wishes’ using black cardstock and stamped and heat embossed the words ‘get well’ and placed the sentiment on the middle of the top layer…I then placed the coloured in image at the base using adhesive foam…
To embellish the card I have used a few yellow sequins…
