Christmas Snow Globe – Card & Tag

Happy Christmas Eve…hope you are enjoying it…even if you don’t celebrate Christmas,it is usually a holiday for most so is quite a happy and/or relaxing time..I always think of the emergency services employees like doctors, nurses, police, paramedics, fire fighters and such at this time and am always thankful for them as they work on the days everyone else are having a great time…
Today I’m sharing a card and a tag with the same theme….a snow globe..now when I made the card,I did not have the dies yet but I did use the shaker dies to create the tag…

The card base is a very light aqua blue and I chose a foil print DSP by Stampin Up! for the top layer for a bit of a shiny background…

On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the snow globe, sponged in some distress inks for the background as well as Santa’s sleigh, trees and snow…I stamped and coloured in the little houses on a separate piece of cardstock and added some glossy accents on it…I also used glossy accents on the stamped sentiment at the base of the snow globe…

To embellish this card I have used silver sequins in various sizes…

I didn’t get the coordinating dies for the snow globe stamp set but I did get the additional coordinating shaker die…although I didn’t create a shaker snow globe in either of these projects..
I die cut a white base for the snow globe and a blue glitter panel for the background….another white die cut for the snow ground and a silver glitter outside frame on which I adhered the little ribbon loop for the tag…
I stamped and die cut the little birdies and added them to the card as well as the sentiment panel which I stamped on blue foil cardstock..

Merry Kissmoose

I knew from the very second I got this stamp set called Chubby Chum Pals from Paper Smooches that I will be using it for a Christmas card for sure…and now that I have made it, I also plan to enter it in the Paper Smooches December Challenge….
I have chosen a plain white card base and die cut the top layer from white cardstock as well using a stitched rectangle die…I had some left over scrap paper from a circle mask I had used – you might even call it a negative die cut, so I used that to mask the top layer and sponged in some very bight distress inks to create a focus area for the cute moose…
I stamped the moose wearing a Christmas hat on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured it in and adhered it to the card…then I stamped the Christmas light stamp from the same set a few times and coloured them in…I have used a Copic black multi liner to create the wire string…
I decided not to embellish this card but have used glossy accents on some elements to give a bit of dimension and shine…
Thanks so much for visiting today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Holiday Wishes

There are so many cute and beautiful Christmas stamp sets by popular stamp brands every year that it gets really hard to choose….especially because most Christmas stamp sets can only be used for the holiday season…so I don’t buy too many…but what I like doing is to use various stamp sets and convert them into Christmas images like I did for today’s card…
The card base is plain white and I have used a much smaller white top layer for it…I sponged in some distress inks for the background and then ran the top layer through my Cuttlebug using the WRMK next level geometric embossing folder…
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the banner twice – once using red ink and againusing green…I cut them out and placed them on the card…I also stamped and coloured in a little critter and cut it out…to make the critter look Christmassy,I used an elf hat from another stamp set and and adhered it to his head before placing him on the card…
I have used red sequins and some rhinestones to embellish this card…
I’m so glad you stopped by my blog to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Just Because..

I have always admired card makers who create beautiful cards with a crisp white background…it’s not easy when you are using inks and all sorts of colouring mediums…but I guess practice and a bit of planning makes it better…so today I’m sharing a card that turned out just right…..

The card base is plain white and I have used a lime green mat layer…the top layer is also white and I have stamped two doily stamps – one large and one small – on the top layer using black ink…

On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped a couple of other smaller doily stamps with black ink as well and partially coloured them in and cut them out…then using adhesive foam for a bit of dimension, I placed two of these in the middle of the stamped doilies and another one on the side…

The sentiment is from an Altenew stamp set called Painted Greetings…

I have not used any embellishments on this card but have used glossy accents to make the center of the doilies a bit more brighter and shiny…

Thank you for visiting my blog today…Have a happy and crafty day…!!

Thanks A Latte

It’s a great feeling when my one layer stamping cards turn out well…adding layers and embellishments sometimes helps in making less mistakes or even hide a few mistakes….so on this card,by not using any layers or embellishments I had to make sure not to make any mistakes…
I started with a dark brown card base and a white top layer…I stamped the borders and sentiment first and then masked off that area using scrap paper…I then repeatedly stamped the takeaway coffee cup and the coffee beans on the top layer using Versafine black ink….
Once the ink was dry,I coloured in all the images using Spectrum Noir markers….since I wasn’t going to add any embellishments on the card,I just used a bit of glossy accents on the coffee bean images…
Thanks a lot for visiting my blog today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Hello Long Lost Friend Card

I really like how bright colours stand out on a black background…..especially if its a distress ink panel or top layer in a card….I think I will be using a black card base a lot more from now on….at first I didn’t use it that much thinking how will most people manage to write their messages on the inside of a black card….but now I see white gel pens easily and cheaply available everywhere…so that should not be a problem at all…
The card base is plain black and the top panel has been die cut from a stitch rectangle die using watercolour cardstock…I then pulled out a large acrylic stamping block and randomly dabbed a lot of different distress inks onto it and then spritzed it with some water…I quickly transferred the watery ink to the die cut panel and heat set it….
I have used gold foil cardstock to die cut the word hello and a small strip to stamp the rest of the sentiment on…I have also placed two black die cut chevron bits as the only embellishments on this card…

Thank You Card

I have tried partial die-cutting for a few cards before and wanted to give it another try….you could look at a few tutorials by Jennifer McGuire to understand the procedure and then give it a go….
For today’s card I stamped the flourish images directly on the white card base using a dark green dye ink….I used a small dots stamp and light green ink to fill up the white spaces…
On a separate piece of cardstock same width as the card base,I stamped the thank you stamp and used a pencil to create the line across…this would be the part which I die cut partially….so I adhered the die and die cut the piece only till the pencil line and used a craft knife to cut out the rest..I have stamped the swirls and dots on this panel as well…
I then adhered this panel onto the card base using a thick adhesive foam tape and added a few rhinestones to embellish it…

Here’s a close up of the card so you can see the partially die cut front panel a bit better…

Hoping You’re Better Soon Card

With the kind of cold and wet July we are having here,it’s no wonder almost everyone is going through some sickness or the other…can’t wait for Spring to arrive and the days to get longer and brighter…
I decided to make a bright get well card today and tried out a bit of shading with three colours of distress inks….The card base is a bright jade green kind of colour and the top layer is plain white…I used a stencil with various sizes of circles to create the pattern on the top layer and then stamped the sentiment stamp using black ink….
To add a bit of dimension to the card,I coloured in a bit of paper using pink ink and punched out a few circles in much smaller sizes and placed them on the card…I then used glossy accents on them….I’m sorry I couldn’t click a better picture to show the full effect but those punched out circles really shine and stand out on the card…
Finally I added a few colourful sequins in various sizes to embellish the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look…Have a blessed day today…!!’

I’m Your Biggest Fan Card

While going through all my stamps,I pulled out a small camera stamp and started to think what I could create with it….
I started with a plain white card base and top layer….on the top layer I have stamped the camera stamp randomly all over….I coloured in only one of the camera and stamped the sentiment above it…
I have also coloured in the hearts with very light pink and used Ranger Glossy Accents on all the hearts…glossy accents have given a really nice gloss finish to them…
The card was ready in no time…I like these kind of cards…. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!
