Sending You My Love Card

When I saw Jennifer McGuire’s video tutorial where she is teaching Faux Dimension With Stamping & Stencils,I knew I had to try it out….and once I did,I kept going and made quite a few backgrounds for my cards….esp with the stencil technique…
For today’s card I chose a white background and a white top layer….on the top layer I followed the instructions by Jennifer to create the dimension effect on the sentiment stamp…I probably needed to offset the second stamping a bit more for a better effect…
Once the sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with clear embossing powder,I covered the whole top layer with Squeezed Lemonade distress ink and then used a stencil with Mustard Seed distress ink to print the pattern…I have also added a strip of black glitter cardstock on one side of the top layer for a bit of a contrast…
On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped, coloured in and cut out the little fox image…I have applied glossy accents on it and let it dry before placing it on the card using foam squares…
Thanks for visiting today…Happy crafting…!!

Special Day Wishes Bright Card

I started this card with the plan that I was going to use a stencil to create a background and then add layers on it….but the stenciled images turned out quite nice so I used the top layer as is….
The card base is bright pink and has an orange mat…the top layer is white and I have used distress inks and  a flower stencil to print this image on it…in the middle of each flower is a tiny punched glitter flower….I have also added two strips of glitter cardstock on one side…
The sentiment is stamped directly on the top layer with orange dye ink…..and I have used dark pink sequins to decorate the card…
It’s a simple card but I think it still looks great…what do you think??

Post#174 – Distress Inks,Stencils+Water Background Cards

I have followed a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire to create backgrounds for all these cards….I got quite excited by such a good result and went ahead and made a couple more cards using this technique…
Here is the link for the tutorial – Easy Distress Ink Backgrounds by Jennifer McGuire
It’s an excellent video so there is no need for me to write down much details….
I did however mix a bit of twinkling H2O watercolour in my water spritzer for a shiny look as I do not have any other kind of pre-bottled shimmer spritzer etc….
The cards are only lightly decorated as the background is the hero in all these cards….
Hope you liked these cards…
Do you have a favourite??Let me know…

Post#142 Dream Catcher Encouragement Card

Dream catchers seem to be pretty popular these days…. I see them in stores everywhere…also in print on cloth, bags, shirts and papers…and stamps too….

On a brown cardstock base, I have attached a watercolour paper top layer which has been prepared using some peerless watercolors, and once that was dry I used a couple of stencils to print over it randomly….I also adhered a strip of printed glitter cardstock on one side…

On a separate piece of paper I stamped the dream catcher stamp and coloured it in a bit before cutting it out and placing it on the card…I then stamped the ‘Dream BIG’ stamp above it and added a few clear sequins on the card…

Hope you liked it…..
