Many Happy Thoughts Card

Today I’m sharing yet another card made using Mama Elephant stamp set….I loved these stamps so much,I couldn’t stop using them…and my colouring in wasn’t too bad this time so it made the results even more exciting…
The card base is plain and I think the colour is kind of deep peach-ish red…I did not use any top layer in this card….The sentiment is stamped on a silver banner with another silver glitter cardstock banner layered underneath….
The main images were stamped, coloured and cut out and placed on a rectangular printed die cut….but when I die cut that rectangle,I realised that the leftover piece looked like a Polaroid frame and because it was double sided paper,I simply flipped it and added it around the rectangle….
I have used clear sequins to decorate the card…
Hope you liked the card….and my super idea of creating a Polaroid frame from the leftover card piece… 🙂 🙂

Happy Birthday To Me :)

Yes,it is my birthday today….I don’t want to think about my age or growing old but I can’t wait to open the cards that my daughters have made for me…the cards they make for me are my most favorite  and precious possessions…
Today I’m sharing a shaker card….It had been a while since I picked up the fuse tool so thought it was high time I made one…The card base is plain red….I created a base layer which has been coloured in using distress inks and I splattered water on it for effect…I also stamped the sentiment near the top and placed it inside the clear pocket…the pocket is filled it up with sequin die cuts and other sequins and then sealed completely…
I then die cut a rectangular frame from gold foil cardstock and firmly adhered the pocket behind the frame before attaching it to the card base…
Finally I added a stamped, coloured in and cut out image of the little critter from Mama Elephant Three Amigos set and placed it on top of the rectangular frame….I think whenever I place the image inside the pocket,it’s hardly visible because of all the sequins inside it…
Hope you liked this card as much as I do….Thanks for visiting my blog…

Get Carried Away Card

Here’s another card I made using Mama Elephant stamp set….this one is called Carried Away….I usually don’t buy coordinating dies,so I cut out all the images by hand….
The card base is light orange and the top layer is die cut using the largest rectangle stitch die….I then prepared the top layer using distress inks…it took a while to get it right but I finally got there…I stamped the sentiment at the base of this top layer…
I then stamped all the images on a separate piece of paper and coloured them all in as best as I could and cut them all out…I attached the little boy image on top of the balloon and used adhesive foam under it before placing it onto the card…the little bunny and balloon string are adhered directly onto the top layer…
Finally I used Mama Elephant Confetti Die with gold cardstock and placed these various sized stars on the card…
I do hope you like this card as much as I do…

You’re Cute Card

I recently bought a couple of stamp sets by Mama Elephant and this one is super cute….it’s called Three Amigos and has three of these critters, each displaying a sign and there are so many options for the message that you want them to display…this is my first card using this stamp set and I decided to use all three of these cuties…
On a white card base,I used a much smaller top layer which has been die cut using the stitched rectangular die…and then I simply washed over a bit of light yellow colour from peerless watercolors…Once it was dry I adhered two strips of green glitter tape on it…
Then I stamped, coloured and cut out the critters and adhered them onto the top layer using adhesive foam squares….I also added foam tape under the top layer before attaching it to the card base….this card didn’t need much embellishment,so I just added a few red glitter hearts near the base…
Hope you liked this card…

Happy Happy Happy Birthday To You Card

I’m sure it happens with most crafters….you think of an idea and get very excited about it….but when you are half way through, things happen and you don’t get the result you had envisioned….at this moment you make a decision either to scrap or salvage….and considering how very costly craft supplies are(in Australia at least),I’m sure most crafters in this situation try their very best to salvage the project….
So here’s how this card went…..I started with a red card base and a white top layer….on the top layer I stamped a few different patterned circle images with versamark ink and heat embossed them using black embossing powder….I noticed that some circles did not emboss properly but it wasn’t a big deal so I carried on and used watercolours to colour in the all the circles….the result wasn’t that great…maybe I should’ve used a single colour…anyways,I decided to carry on and not scrap it…
So I die cut a Vellum sheet using stitched rectangle die same size as the top layer and adhere it using brads on all four corners….I then die cut the happy word 3 times using red glitter cardstock and adhere them to the vellum…then I cut a silver banner and stamped the words ‘Birthday to you!’ on it and adhered it below the happy words…Finally I added a few silver star sequins and my card was complete….
What do you think about this card??Do you like how it turned out in the end??Let me know…

Post#197 – Girl With Balloons Birthday Card

I have recently started using the card size of 4.5″x 5.75″ and I quite like it and plan to use this size often from now on…..especially for cards that I feel would otherwise have looked too full on a standard size card and might not justify the design….
The card base is a bright red one…and the top layer is made from watercolour paper that has been die cut from the largest stitched rectangle die….I then used peerless watercolours to  create a light background for the card….
Once the top layer was dry I stamped all the balloons and strings on it…on a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped and coloured in the little girl and cut it out…I have used adhesive squares to adhere the image onto the card to give it a bit of dimension….
I then die cut the scripty word ‘happy birthday’ using a gold cardstock and placed it above the balloons…I have also added just a few golden star sequins on the balloons as embellishments…
Hope you liked this card…

Post#195 – New Home Congratulations Card

I have only ever made one more new home congratulations card before this one…..and that was for my friend, quite a few years ago….it’s so exciting to get congratulatory messages and cards from friends and family when you buy your home…for most people a home is the biggest investment they will ever make in their lifetime…
For this card I chose a dark purple textured card base….all three layers are plain white which have been die cut using the stitched rectangles dies….on the middle layer I have used used various distress inks to create a watercolour effect..the top layer has a key stamped with gold pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder….I punched a hole near the top of the key and threaded some thin cord from it….
Once all the layers were properly adhered to the card,I stamped the sentiment on the 2nd layer and also stamped the words home sweet home on separate pieces of paper and adhered them using adhesive squares…I have used a few sequins to decorate the card as well….
Hope you liked this card….

Post#173 – Happy Birthday Flowers Card

So while I had all the distress inks out to create yesterdays Valentine’s card,I quickly created a background for a birthday card….
On a white card base I used a stencil and a few different distress inks to create the background….while the stencil was still in place,I rubbed on Versamark ink and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder…this made the background waterproof as well as shiny…
I die cut a small white rectangle using the stitched die and adhered two flowers that I had coloured in and cut out…I placed this at the centre of the card using foam squares…I also placed a die cut ‘happy birthday’ near the top of the card…
To decorate the card,I have used clear sequins in various sizes….
Hope you liked this card…
