Thank You Card – Feathers Die Cuts Inlay Background

For today’s card,I wanted to add a lot of die cuts to create the background but at the same time I didn’t want the top layer to be bulky as I was planning to add a tag on the front….so I decided to inlay the die cuts and place them within the top layer…
I started with a brick red card base and die cut a tag using the same cardstock….I then cut a white top layer to size and randomly die cut various feather shapes and pulled out the die cut shapes leaving just the negative section…I used the same dies to die cut the feathers using a printed cardstock…then using a double sided adhesive sheet behind the top layer,I carefully inlaid the printed feathers in the empty spots of the negative top layer….I also adhere two thin strips of gold cardstock on the top layer before adhering it to the card base….
To get the tag ready,I die cut the word ‘thank you’ using gold foil card cardstock and placed it on the tag..I threaded a small piece of ribbon and placed a few gold sequins on the tag before adhering it to the card using a bit of  adhesive foam…
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today…Hope you will have a great day ahead….!!

Love You – Tag On A Card

Today I’m sharing a simple card but I have tried out a technique on the background…I don’t know if this technique has a proper name…I have inked the stamp once and stamped thrice…the second and third stamping is much lighter but is still visible and gives a nice effect…
I chose a plain light pink card base….and the top layer is plain white….after stamping the bottom two layers with red and purple ink,I used pink dye ink to create the rest of the background…
Once the background was ready,I stamped and die cut a tag from vellum paper and another tag from pink glitter cardstock…tied a ribbon bow at the top and placed it on the middle of the card…
Hope you liked this card…

Today I’m sharing a bright card which was pretty quick to make…..I like making these kind of cards when I want to try out a colour scheme…..or when I’m totally out of ideas…..which happens a lot more than I like…
The card base is plain green and the top layer is white….on the top layer I have stamped various sizes of circles using purple, green and orange dye inks….I then stamped and die cut a small tag and placed the ‘celebrate’ word die on it and added a ribbon as well….
I have also added two strips of foil cardstock at the top of the card…and a few small rhinestones to decorate the card as well…
Hope you liked this card….

I haven’t used kraft cardstock for a couple of weeks now and I really wanted to create this particular design using both plain and printed kraft paper…
The plain kraft cardstock has been used for the card base….then there is a layer of a swirly print kraft paper….and the top layer is made from Vellum paper…on all four sides of this vellum paper I have used two of the stitched border diee to give it a bit of texture…
In the middle of the card I have placed an embossed tag die cut from cold cardstock…the tag has a die cut word ‘For You’ on it as well as a two gold heat embossed pansy flowers and two leaves…
The gold and lavender sequins not only decorate the card but they also hide the glue dots that have been used to attach  the vellum to the layer below it….

Hope you liked my card….

Post#92 Clear Shaker Invitation using Stampers Anonymous Cityscapes Set(New York)

So this is the fourth project using the Cityscapes stamp set and today’s stamp is of New York cityscape and I’ve managed to use the whole stamp for this one rather than a section of it…
I’ve had this idea of making a clear shaker party invitation for a while now…and once I saw the New York cityscape stamp, I knew exactly what I was going to make with it…
I started by stamping the cityscape image on the back of an acrylic pocket using stazon black ink…..adding sequins to the whole pocket would have made the stamp not stand out so I decided to make two sections….the top part is the shaker section filled with sequin stars….there is also a tiny tab section a the top where the tag can be attached…
I also stamped the word ‘party’ on the top section with white stazon ink…and the shaker section was ready…then I die cut a tag and created a background using the party word stamp repeatedly….then I stamped and heat embossed ‘you’re invited’ on the tag….I used ribbons and gold string to attach the tag to the clear shaker …
I had a lot of fun creating something different today…Hope you liked it..

Post#90 London Tags using Stampers Anonymous Cityscapes Set

Today I am sharing two tags I made using the cityscapes stamp set….For this project I used the London cityscape stamp…
After die cutting the tags I coloured in the base section with Peerless watercolors…once that was dry I stamped a section of the stamp on both tags…
For one tag I die cut chevron pieces in blue, red and white inspired by the colours of the Union Jack…and I think the word and meaning stamp of “journey’ goes well with it…the red and blue ribbons add the finishing touch to the tag…
For the second tag I simply stamped the word ‘Many Thanks’ and threaded a ribbon through…I also tied a bakers twine on the ribbon…I decided not to add any embellishments on this tag…
Hope you liked these…

I like using tags to create simple cards…and for this card I wanted to use the colour combination of blue, aqua and pink…
I started with a 5″ x 7″ aqua card base…the top layer is a marble effect blue paper…I added four strips in various widths on it and adhered the top layer to the card…
Then I die cut a large tag and added the die cut word thanks to it along with a few tiny punched out flowers and a ribbon as well…I attached the tag onto the card front and added a few more punched flowers to the card…
Hope you liked it…

Just as the title suggests…today’s post is a card in a card…..So when you open the first card…it has a pocket inside which holds another card….I like the slight element of surprise in this card…
I kept the base card quite simple in blue base and layers on green on inside and silver foil cardstock  layer on the outside…The front only has a small green label with silver heat embossed sentiment on it…
The inside card is 3″ x 3″ in foil cardstock with two strips of green and blue cardstock on the front…Then I attached a small white tag on which I had stamped and coloured in an image of a little girl…at the back of the tag I attached  a few small banners for decoration…
I hope you liked this card…

Post#69 Gift Tag with Stamped Acetate Layer

I am really enjoying using acetate in my projects these days….here is another one with an acetate layer…
I die cut an olive green tag and made a dotted border all around the tag with a white gel pen….then I die cut the same tag from the acetate sheet….I placed this on top of the green base tag….I also stamped the girl and boy holding balloons on acetate tag with white ink…
The ribbon holds both the tags together nicely so there was no need for any adhesives…
Hope you liked it….

Post#65 ‘Made With Love’ Rectangular Gift Box

Coming up with dimensions for a gift box is not as easy as it seems…I took a pretty long time to get things right with this box…..So hats off to anyone and everyone who has managed to create a box or a gift bag from scratch with their own dimensions…
The aim was to make a long rectangular box to fit in a good amount of goodies inside…and so after a lot of tries I finally came up with dimensions for this box…The final box is about 7″ long and 2″ wide and 2″ tall..
Since I chose a printed cardstock for the box, I wanted the print to be seen and not covered up by decorations and paper bands…so I chose a small gold doily as the only decoration and closed the box using a gold stretchy string….
There is also a stamped tag on the box which has been die cut out of acetate and stamped with StazOn white pigment ink…
Hope you liked this box…

Here’s another shaped birthday card…these kind of cards are a bit difficult to decorate but are good for a change from regular square or rectangular cards…and they can easily be attached to presents, gift baskets or floral bouquets….
The card base has been created using a scalloped square die…I like how the die has created an embossed border at the edge…to get this effect I had added a few shims of paper on top of the cutting plate while I was die cutting….without having to run it again through my Cuttlebug using an embossing mat…..
The front panel was stamped and only two of the edges rounded…The sentiment was stamped on a vellum paper and then die cut using a tag die…lastly I added a tiny piece of string through the tag…
Hope you like this card…

Post#23 Birthday Tag Slight Shadow Effect

Green and blue was a combination I wanted to try….So I made a small tag to test it out….It turned out nice….so I’m sharing it with you…. 🙂
I have also used a stamping technique called a shadow effect…..where you stamp the image once and then again by slightly moving the position of the stamp…I like how where the two colours overlap there is a new colour and it somehow looks like I’ve stamped the image three times..
On a die cut tag I stamped the swirly stamp twice….then stamped the sentiment sideways…added a couple of butterflies…and ribbons to finish the tag..
Hope you like it…

Post#19 Tag Card – Yellow Hello

Sometimes,a simple hello from someone you haven’t heard from in a while makes you feel happy….and special…and thought about…
This card is made on a Kraft card base….and a yellow and white printed paper as top layer….I die cut two fishtail shaped tags in plain yellow and white….and on the top tag I attached a colourful Hello die cut word….to attach the tags to each other I used a bit of thick yellow bakers twine…and a few golden sequins here and there to finish the card…
Hope you liked it.
