Colourful Clouds And Fairies Birthday Card

I have used quite a few Distress Ink colours for the background of my card but have actually managed keep the images and sentiment in focus and not the background…the cute fairy images are from a stamp set by The Greeting Farm called Little Fairies..

I started by die cutting the front panel from white cardstock using the large stitched rectangle die and then used some Distress Inks and the MFT mini cloud stencil to create the background…I have sponged the inks lightly and these are the shades I used – salty ocean, squeezed lemonade, spun sugar, twisted citron and shaded lilac..
I stamped the sentiment at the base of this panel using black ink and then adhered it to a plain white card base..

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the two fairies and then cut them out and adhered them onto the card using some thin adhesive foam squares…I used a few pink and gold sequins to embellish my card…

Fairy Birthday Wishes

I am so happy with today’s card as it turned out almost as planned…I had bought this mushroom stamp set (You’re A Fungi by Hero Arts) especially for my fairy stamps and I’m so glad I did…

For a textured pink card base I chose a watercolour cardstock top layer the same size as the card front…I then sponged in some Distress inks to cover the top layer…I have used spun sugar, picked raspberry and abandoned coral here…I also sprinkled some water for a bit of effect…

I die cut a grassy border from green glitter cardstock and adhered it to the base of the top layer..I also die cut the word ‘fairy’ from silver glitter cardstock as well as pink craft foam using lowercase alphabet dies and adhered it to the card…I stamped the rest of the sentiment on a silver label…

On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the fairy images…I cut them out and placed them on the card…I have used foam squares on some of them for a bit of dimension…

Finally I used Nuvo jewel drops, glossy accents and sparkle pen to embellish my card…

A Fairy Spinner Card

Interactive cards are so much fun…to make and to give…I don’t know why I wasn’t making them more often…today I’m sharing my very first slider card…

I chose a light blue textured cardstock for the card base and then die cut watercolour cardstock for the front of the card using a stitched rectangle die….I then sponged in some distress inks to create the background of the front panel..I have used shaded lilac, wilted violet and seedless preserves here…then using blueprint sketch distress ink and stars stencil, Printed the stars all over the panel…I also splattered some white paint on it..
Next,I started to assemble the spinner part of the card…firstly I cut out a coloured in image of the little fairy and then prepared the spinner disc by adhering two circle die cuts on each side of the disc…one circle gets attached to the back of the fairy image…
I then die cut the spinner channel out of the top layer I prepared earlier and adhered craft foam behind the front panel…I slotted in the fairy into the channel and then adhered the panel to the front of the card…
The spinner part is now ready,so all I had to do now was to add the sentiment and a few embellishments…
I have added a small video on my Instagram account if you’d like to see how this spinner card works/spins..

Make A Wish – Ombre Watercolour Background

I saw this technique to create ombre watercolour background in December last year…most of you who follow Kristina Werner would remember the fabulous set of cards she made on Day 25 of her Holiday Card Series….and it has taken me this long to try it out…she has an excellent tutorial with her post and I was so happy with my results that I made two different ombre backgrounds but chose this ¬†bright one to make a card with first…
I chose a white card base and followed Kristina’s tutorial to create the ombre background on watercolor paper…and the watercolors I have used are Peerless watercolors….once the paint was dry,I splattered some metallic gold ¬†paint on it….I love the shine from the gold paint…and finally I ran the top layer through my cuttlebug to emboss it…
I die cut the words ‘make a wish’ and a few stars using gold foil cardstock and placed them onto the card…
The little fairy has been stamped, coloured in,cut out and covered with a bit of glossy accents before being placed on the card as well…
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today…Happy crafting…!!

Believe In Magic

I used Prismacolor pencils for the very first time…I loved the brightness of the canary yellow in the set..I need to practice more with these but couldn’t resist creating one card for now..
The card base is plain white and the base layer is a kind of pear green shade which I have die cut using stitched rectangle die…I have heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder at the top left of this layer and added a cute little fairy(The Greeting Farm) beside it..
The top layer is plain white and I first stamped and coloured in the images and the die cut this layer using a stitched edge die..I added craft foam under this layer before adhering it to the base layer…
Finally I added some clear star sequins to embellish this card..
