Today I’m sharing a very simple Thank You card….
The card base is plain pink….the top layer watercolour style background has been created by using Twinkling H2O shade called Sugar Plum….once the watercolour was dry, I stamped the sentiment with green dye ink….
I then used a chevron die to die cut six different shades of green and adhered those to the top layer in a line….I really like the Avery Elle Chevron Bits dies…these die cuts can even be used as embellishments…
Once the top layer was adhered to the card base,I used a few green rhinestones to decorate the card…
Hope you like it..

Post#174 – Distress Inks,Stencils+Water Background Cards

I have followed a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire to create backgrounds for all these cards….I got quite excited by such a good result and went ahead and made a couple more cards using this technique…
Here is the link for the tutorial – Easy Distress Ink Backgrounds by Jennifer McGuire
It’s an excellent video so there is no need for me to write down much details….
I did however mix a bit of twinkling H2O watercolour in my water spritzer for a shiny look as I do not have any other kind of pre-bottled shimmer spritzer etc….
The cards are only lightly decorated as the background is the hero in all these cards….
Hope you liked these cards…
Do you have a favourite??Let me know…

Today I’m sharing a simple tag….I chose a blue cardstock for the  base and punched at the top using a tag topper punch and rounded the corners of the base…
And in an attempt to try Twinkling H2O watercolors again, I coloured a bit of white cardstock using these watercolours and die cut a balloon and ‘with love’ word…the die cuts shimmer beautifully…I embossed the balloon die cut and added a couple of punched hearts in red and gold…and to finish the tag I added bright red and yellow ribbons…
I hope you liked it…

Today I’m sharing another simple card…
The cards base is plain white with a white top layer…on the top layer I have stamped a doily stamp twice in black StazOn ink…then I coloured it in with emerald shade of twinkling h2o watercolour….I coloured just a few sections on the large doily stamp and I think it gives a bit of stained glass effect…
The sentiment was stamped on a white strip of paper and one edge was punched using the banner punch…
Hope you liked this card…

I’m experimenting with Twinkling H2O watercolours and still haven’t been able to use them properly….but they are so vibrant and glossy that my experiments aren’t going to waste…I was able to use them in my projects quite easily….
Today I’m sharing two such projects…..The first one is a gift bag made out of two layers of the largest die from the eyelet scallop square die set…there is a tiny  box in the middle on which these die cuts get attached….I punched two holes in the box to thread the ribbons through…
To decorate the front of the box I die cut a scalloped square piece from the sheet of paper I had stamped using an embossing folder and twinkilng h2o’s….on that I added three banners in various sizes and colours and rounded the straight edges…also added a few punched flowers and a button as embellishments…
The second project turned out a bit better when I used watercolours on the same embossing folder to stamp on the tag…it gives a very shimmery effect but sadly I am not able to show that in this photo….
I simply punched a banner and stamped the sentiment on it and attached it to the tag with the ribbons…I also added a few flowers with tiny rhinestones in the middle…
Hope you liked my creations…

I haven’t made many encouragement cards, and I wanted to try one where the sentiment is the focal point and the stamping or embellishments do not overshadow it…
I chose a lime green card base and a plain white top layer….and on the white paper I stamped a leaf stamp with electric lime dye ink…then stamped again on top of the stamped image with Twinkling h2o watercolours…this was my first try with these watercolours…they did not stick on the stamp very well but once that colour was transferred onto the paper they looked really nice and shiny while giving the overall stamped image a great effect…
I then stamped the sentiment near the base of the card with Memento Ink called Rhubarb Stalk…
Hope you liked this card…
