Two Cards – Anniversary & Congrats

The two cards I’m sharing today were very quick to make and in both these cards I have used techniques that I have learnt by watching Jennifer McGuire’s tutorials….in the anniversary cards with the cosmos flowers I did the fast watercolouring using the inpad directly on the image and for the congrats card I created the glazed distress oxide background using Distress Oxide inks and Distress Glaze on a glossy cardstock piece..

I started my first card by creating the flowers for my card first…I stamped the flower heads using squeezed lemonade and seedless preserves Distress Oxide inks and heat embossed the images using a pearl embossing powder…next I applied some Oxide inks to these images directly from the ink pads -spiced marmalade and picked raspberry – and then used my water spritzer with some gold perfect pearls powder mixed with the water and spritzed the images…this made the colour flow all over the image and colour it automatically…once dry, I die cut these images and set them aside to add to the card later…

I cut out the front panel of my card from Bristol cardstock and sponged some salty ocean Oxide ink all over…I then stamped the flower stems using lucky clover Oxide ink and heat embossed them with pearl embossing powder as well…I then used blueprint sketch Oxide ink and the warp speed stencil to print the pattern just above the stems…I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on this panel and adhered it to the card base…

Finally I adhered the flower heads to my card, using adhesive foam squares under a couple of them for a bit of dimension…and to embellish my card I have simply used clear Nuvo drops …

For my second card I have created yet another glazed Distress Oxide background ( I may be addicted to this technique)…I have used seedless preserves, candied apple and picked raspberry shades Oxide inks here…once the inks were dry, I quickly embossed the background using the WRMK geometric next level embossing powder and adhered this panel to the card base…

I die cut the word congrats three times from a thick white cardstock and once from white glitter cardstock and layered them before adhering them to the card…I also die cut two flowers and one leaf cluster from the same white cardstock…I die cut the topmost layer of these from white glitter cardstock as well and adhered them just above the die cut word…to embellish this card I have used some tiny rhinestones…

Fuchsias Anniversary Card

I love the pink and purple coloured Fuchsia flowers and have two plants(bushes rather) in my home…they bloomed beautifully over the summer and still have a few flowers blooming now and then…my younger daughter used to make garlands out of them when she was little…I wanted to use different colour inks for this stamp set but had to make at least one card with the pink and purple Fuchsias…I am also entering my card in The Flower Challenge #18…the theme for this month’s challenge is ‘anything goes’…

I started by creating a background for my card which would add to the charm of these beautiful flowers rather than attract all the attention…so I stamped the lace background stamp on a watercolour panel using watermark ink and heat embossed it with a super fine pearl embossing powder…I then covered the whole panel with red gold watercolour and set it aside to dry..

On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the fuchsia and leaves and die cut them with the coordinating dies before adhering them to my card…toi add a bit of depth,I have added  some adhesive foam underneath the flowers and leaf branch at the front…

I die cut the sentiment from white cardstock as well as purple craft foam…I sponged some pink ink on the white die cut and layered them before adhering to the card front…

To embellish my card I have used some adhesive pearls and applied glossy accents over the sentiment and shimmer over the flowers…
Thanks you for visiting today…Hope you will have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Split Colouring – 1 design 2 cards

How fun it was to create two cards with the same design and yet different from each other…I have followed a tutorial for split coloring by Jennifer McGuire to create the cards that I’m sharing with you today…although I do wish I had used two different colours instead of the all white card front…ah well,I’ll do that next time…

I started by stamping the flowers and a flowery border on two white card front panels with Versafine onyx black ink…I then heat embossed them using a super fine pearl embossing powder…I liked how the embossing softened the black and makes it look a greyish shade…

I left one panel as is and coloured in the second panel using bright shades of Gansai Tambi watercolours…once this panel was dry,I held both the panels together and using my trimmer I cut both into three sections and swapped the middle section of the panels….I did not measure or anything since I started with the same size panels and using my Misti made sure they were stamped exactly alike..

I stamped the same sentiment on both cards but used black ink for one and blue for the other and then adhered these panels to the cards front of both cards…I also added a very thin strip of black glitter cardstock at the top..and finally, I have added a few black sequins to embellish these cards…
Thank you for your visit today…I’m glad you stopped by my blog…Have a wonderful day ahead…!!
