Thanks Card

I usually go for very bright and colourful cards so for a change decided to make today’s card using earthy colours….
The card base is plain sepia and the top layer has been die cut from watercolour cardstock using large cross stitched rectangle die….I have sponged the top layer using tea dye distress ink and die cut a circle in it…I placed a frosted gold paper behind the top layer to cover the die cut area…
I then die cut and watercoloured a few leaf dies and placed them on the frosted gold area and added a die cut stitched gold circle frame on top…
The sentiment is a wood veneer word by Stampin’ Up! and I have used gold sequins to embellish the card…to add a little pop of colour to my card I punched out two red butterflies and added them to the card…
I’m so glad you stopped by to take a look at my card today….Hope you will have a beautiful day ahead…!!

Flowers Pop-Up Card

Pop up cards have been around for a long time and from what I can see on the internet, card makers have been creating awesome ones…some cards are pretty intricate and quite detailed and I really can’t even begin to understand how those cards were made….

Today I’m sharing my first pop up card….although I must say that using a die to create the tabs made it quite easy for me…the die comes in a set called Make It Pop by Stampendous…so all I had to do was to use the pop up die for the inside printed insert of the card and folded the tabs the correct way for them to work and then attached the elements to those tabs….I have used some cut out peony flowers and leaves on the bottom tab and a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner on the top one…

I kept the outside/front of the card quite simple….the top layer is plain grey and I have used the smaller images from the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set and repeat stamped them around the edges…I coloured in the flowers and some leaves using Spectrum Noir markers….I stamped the sentiment in the middle and used Nuvo crystal drops to embellish the card…

Two cards Using Kraft Cardstock

One of the lovely and talented bloggers I religiously follow is Vicki¬†and I love all her creations….a little while back she had created a cute piggy card with a stamped kraft card top layer and to enhance the stamped images, she drew a border around them using a white gel pen….making the stamped images stand out a bit….and I really loved the technique and had planned to try it out myself…
Here is the link to Vicki’s lovely creation that inspired me to create this card – Squeal,Oink,Hello!
On a white card base I used a kraft top layer on which I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Flower Heads stamp set and coloured them in…I then used a gel pen to create a border around the images…I didn’t do too well this time but I think I’ll do a better job when I use this technique again..
I die cut a few leaves and a little birdie image and placed them below the gold banner with the sentiment on it…

So while I had the kraft cardstock out,I decided to create a quick card….this time I used it to create the card base….the top layer is die cut from vellum using a stitched rectangle die…I then stamped the little dandelion images on the vellum using white pigment ink to create a background…

The sentiment is half stamped and half die cut and I have used white rhinestones on all four corners to embellish the card as well as conceal the glue dots I used to adhere the vellum to the card base….

Super Special Amazing Birthday

I love creating backgrounds for my cards and this one was quite fun….the best part was that it wasn’t planned but still turned out great….I like things this way…sometimes too much planning takes all the fun away don’t you think??
I started with a Kraft card base and a watercolor paper top layer…I first sponged the top layer lightly with some squeezed lemonade distress ink and splattered a bit of water on it for effect….once it was dry I used the negative section of the leaf die cut as a stencil and shabby shutters distress ink to print the leaves onto the top layer…
I placed the three die cut leaves onto the top layer and placed the coloured in and cut out image of Boris the Badger on top of the leaves….I stamped the sentiment using black ink and have used a few sequins to embellish the card…
Thanks for visiting my blog today…Have a great day ahead….!!

Happy Birthday Flowers Card

Going through all my stamps today, I pulled out the ¬†Summer Flowers stamp set….it was released about three years back by Inspired by Stamping and has been a favourite of mine…I decided to make a few cards using this stamp set and here’s the first one…
The card base is plain white and the top layer is a very light mint colour cardstock which I have die cut using the largest rectangle stitched die…I stamped the sentiment directly onto the top layer using black ink…
On a separate piece of white cardstock,I stamped the flower three times and coloured them in before cutting them out….I also die cut a few leaves from the Wild Greenery die set and decided not to colour those in…I placed all the leaves and flowers on the top layer and the card was ready…

Many Thanks Card

I’m very excited to share this card today….it didn’t take long to create it and I am pretty happy with the result myself….
I started with a light green card base and a plain white top layer…the coloured panel on top is actually a piece of white cardstock which is a left over from die cutting or a negative as some people call it…and I have simply coloured it in using various shades of green and yellow distress inks…I then cut a piece of vellum same size as the panel and adhered them both onto the white top layer…I have wrapped some silver string across the top layer before adhering it to the card base…
The sentiment is stamped and silver heat embossed on a small white banner and I have layered it with a larger green banner…before attaching the banner onto the card,I die cut two leaves from silver foil cardstock and glued them to the card…
I have used just a few silver rhinestones as embellishments…
