Katzelkraft Dogs Rubber Stamps – You Are My Person

I have used Distress Oxide inks and die embossing to create an interesting background for today’s card…the dogs from Katzelkraft are so cute and I made sure that the background and other elements don’t outshine the ‘hero’ of my card..

I used a light yellow textured cardstock for the card base and cut out the a panel from watercolour cardstock the same size as the card front…I then sponged in some Distress Oxide inks and splattered some large drops of water on it….I have used fired brick, fossilized amber and spiced marmalade shades of Distress Oxide..
Once the water dried on the top layer,I used double pierced rectangle nesting dies with my tan mat to emboss on the top layer…I then stamped the sentiment using black ink and placed some die cut xo’s underneath…
I stamped, coloured in and cut out the dog image and placed it on the card using some foam squares…I thought the card needed just a little something more,so I added few red star sequin to embellish it…
I’m glad you stopped by to take a look at my card….Hope you will have a beautiful day today…!!

Pop – Up Birthday Card

I am very excited to share my card today…..after trying out my first pop up card just a few weeks ago,I wanted to make a bright and colourful birthday pop-up card…I have used a lot of colours in the card,on the inside,so I wanted to keep the front/outside simple…
I have used a plain white card base…there are no layers on the front as I was going to add a full layer on the inside for the pop-ups and I didn’t want the card to be too bulky…
For the front on the card I die cut the words ‘make a wish’ using white as well as red cardstock, glued them together and stuck them to the card…I then coloured in a small piece of cardstock using distress inks and the die cut 4 candles and placed them on the card too…to embellish the card I have used colourful sequins…
For the inside of the card I cut out a white insert slightly smaller the the card and scored it in the middle…I then sponged in various distress inks to cover the insert….I also sprinkled a bit of water for effect…
I decided to create a party scene with three kids where one is holding a bunch of balloons and the other two are holding a banner…..I coloured in and cut our all these, ready to be attached to the card…I stamped the sentiments with black ink and then using the MFT Die-namics pop up elements dies I created the three pop up sections and adhered all pieces to them…finally I adhered the insert to the card base…

Sending Happy Thoughts

I have surprised myself today with how neatly I was able to fussy cut the stamped flowers layer for this card….well, neater than usual…so I’m pretty happy about it… 🙂
The card base is plain white and the top layer is plain pistachio green….I have stamped the sentiment using pink ink at the center of the top layer….
On a separate piece of white cardstock same width as the top layer,I stamped the peony flowers using black ink…I did use a mask for some of the flowers in order to stamp the images closely and/or overlap the images…using Peerless watercolors,I  coloured in the flowers and once they were dry I fussy cut around one side to cut off the excess and adhered the cut out on the top layer…
To embellish the card I have used a few pink sequins…
Thank you for stopping by today to take a look at my card….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!

Wishing You Were Here

Whether you are a new to card making or just looking for ideas to try, Jennifer McGuire’s blog is a great classroom for everyone…I have learnt so much from watching her tutorials and trying out the techniques she teaches…I watch all her videos even if I don’t have the items she’s using as she gives  out a lot of hints, suggestions and tips in her tutorials..
For today’s card I followed her tutorial for Coordinating Die Masking technique…all I had to do was stamp the image directly onto the top white layer and then mask it off with a coordinating die cut…I sponged around and over it with distress ink and took off the mask….I then coloured in the image using my Spectrum Noir markers..
The top layer has been die cut using stitched rectangle die and after the sentiment was been stamped,I adhered it to the bright blue card base..I have also used a few clear sequins to embellish the card…

Sending Get Well Wishes

Distress inks give the best results with stencils but a lot of cardmakers are using dye ink pads as well…I did the same with my card background for today’s card…I think I need a bit more practice and I’ll be able to get much better results with dye inks too….
The card base is plain black and the top layer is plain white…on the top layer I have used a stencil and red dye ink to print the pattern…I then stamped the sentiment using black ink…
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the image of the little girl, coloured it in and cut it out before placing it on the card…I then placed a few sequins to embellish the card…

Sending Birthday Wishes Card

Today I’m sharing another card I have made using the Avery Elle Pixie Dust stamp set….it didn’t take too long to make this card and I absolutely loved the end result….
The card base is made from plain black cardstock and I have used a watercolour cardstock to for the top layer….I first coloured in the top layer very lightly using salty ocean distress ink and then placed the chevron pattern stencil over it and used the same ink to print the pattern…but this time I used a lot of ink to give a darker print over the light background…
I then stamped the fairy image on a separate piece of white cardstock and coloured it in before cutting it out and placing on the center of the top layer….the sentiment has been stamped just under it…
To embellish the card I have used a few pink sequins…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look…Have a blessed day today…!!

Hoping You’re Better Soon Card

With the kind of cold and wet July we are having here,it’s no wonder almost everyone is going through some sickness or the other…can’t wait for Spring to arrive and the days to get longer and brighter…
I decided to make a bright get well card today and tried out a bit of shading with three colours of distress inks….The card base is a bright jade green kind of colour and the top layer is plain white…I used a stencil with various sizes of circles to create the pattern on the top layer and then stamped the sentiment stamp using black ink….
To add a bit of dimension to the card,I coloured in a bit of paper using pink ink and punched out a few circles in much smaller sizes and placed them on the card…I then used glossy accents on them….I’m sorry I couldn’t click a better picture to show the full effect but those punched out circles really shine and stand out on the card…
Finally I added a few colourful sequins in various sizes to embellish the card…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look…Have a blessed day today…!!’
