Thanks From The Bottom Of My Heart

The card I’m sharing today is my entry for Time Out Challenge #100…I took a longer blog break than I had intended and that was mostly because I had a sort of a ‘blank’ when I started crafting  again…I saw many videos and tutorials but still was unable to come up with a workable card idea…and finally the only thing that worked was creating cards for a few different challenges…here is the first one…

For this challenge we were asked what we were thankful for…I am really thankful for the awesome support and positive encouragement that I receive from family and friends(this includes all my online crafty friends)…I am also very thankful for all the wonderful crafters who love to share their knowledge and skill with everyone who wants to learn….
This card didn’t take too long to create once I had the idea and the simple layout planned…I used Distress Inks to cover the background panel and then embossed it with the quilted embossing folder…I have used spiced marmalade, mustard seed and squeezed lemonade shades of ink here…I adhered this panel to the front of a plain black card base…

Using a thick black cardstock,I die cut the damask pattern and placed it on the card front…the sentiment and a few hearts were stamped on a separate piece of white cardstock, cut out and then adhered to the card front using adhesive foam of various thickness…and finally I have used clear confetti sequins to embellish my card…

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today…hope you will have a very happy and blessed day ahead..!!

You Are My Happy Place – Time Out Challenge #88

The card I’m sharing today is the kind I love to create…DIY background, lots of colour but still uncomplicated with a cute image…Also,I’m entering my card in the Time Out Challenge #88…and this time the theme is ‘Inspired by Words’ so we have a Roald Dahl quote to be inspired by –
‘ If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely ‘

There was some great inspiration provided by the DT….I looked at all of their beautiful cards and decided to use a die cut sun as well as a rainbow background and a happy sentiment…this is how I interpreted the quote to create my card…

I started with a plain white card base and die cut watercolour cardstock for the top layer same size as the card front…I then used Peerless Watercolors,a wide paint brush and a ruler to paint the rainbow stripes for the background…once dry,I embossed this layer using a  WRMK next level embossing folder…
I used a scalloped border die and green cardstock to create a little hill for the piggy to lie on and adhered it to the top layer…I also die cut a sun from yellow and orange cardstock and used craft foam to adhere it to the card front…

On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the piggy and flower images, coloured them in and cut them out before adhering them to the card using adhesive foam…
I have stamped the sentiment on a dark pink shimmer cardstock strip and used pink sequins to embellish my card..

POST EDIT – Just wanted to share that my card for the last Time Out Challenge was chosen to get ‘Honours at Taking Time Out’…yayyy..!!

Easter Bunnies

I didn’t have any Easter themed stamps so wasn’t planning on making Easter cards this year…but then I saw my MFT Somebunny stamp set and an idea started to form…I got stuck again when I needed a larger sentiment than I had for this card…and that’s where alphabet stamps came handy….and here’s the card…

On a plain white card base I have used a yellow top layer…I stamped the sentiment right in the middle of this layer using a combination of a small word stamp and alphabet stamps….I then added the next layer above it which has been made from Vellum cut to the same size as the top layer and embossed using the quilted embossing folder….

Next,I die cut a rectangular frame from white cardstock and adhered it to the card…I also adhered tiny blue sequins on the Vellum in the area within this rectangle..

After that I stamped the cute bunnies and carrots on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured them in using watercolour pencils and my Dove blender pen and cut them out before placing them on the card…

Here’s a closer look at the how the bunny images turned out…

For You Card

So today I’m sharing the second card I made using the other ombre watercolour background that I was talking about in my previous post….in the last one I had used warm colours so for this one I chose cool colours grey, blue and purple…
I followed the technique shown by Kristina Werner  for creating the ombre background..it’s a great tutorial and I have been amazed at my results…Kristina is an excellent teacher…
Once dry,I cut the top layer to size and embossed the it using the WRMK embossing folder..I also splattered a bit of white paint for effect….I then adhered this top layer to a plain white card base..
Using the leftover bit of paper from the top layer,I die cut the sentiment and placed it on the middle of the card…then on a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped, coloured in and and cut out the little bunny and flower cart images and placed these on the card as well…
To embellish the card I have used some silver sequins and I have used glossy accents on the images for a bit of shine…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card….Have lovely & blessed day ahead…!!

Thanks A Bunch

Every now and then I challenge myself to make a card which is not too colourful and looks classy…as I know that even though I love making them, not everyone likes bright cards…I was very careful with this card and quite happy with the result as well…
The card base is plain white and I have cute plain green cardstock at an angle for the top layer…I also embossed the top layer using the WRMK next level quilted embossing folder and adhered it to the card base…
On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the Altenew Dahlia blossoms…it’s a layering stamp set and saves you the time that you would spend on colouring in…once stamped,I cut these flowers and leaves out and placed them on the card…
To embellish the card I have used bottle green and ebony black Nuvo crystal drops..

There’s No Such Thing As Too Many Candles

Age is not how old you are,but how many years of fun you’ve had….and I completely agree with this quote…people who have fun in life are focused on living and not the number of years they’ve lived…I had made this card for a very jolly natured guy who just celebrated his 60+something birthday a little while back…
For the card base I chose a bright yellow textured cardstock and a black top layer…I then sponged in a few shades of blue distress inks on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut it out to create the  strips for the sunburst background….
Using the hillside border die I cut orange foil cardstock for the base and embossed it using the quilted WRMK next level embossing folder…I adhered it to the top layer and ran the top layer through my cuttlebug using the largest stitched rectangle die…it not only looks good but cut off all the excess paper without much effort…
I then stamped lots of candles from MFT Make a Wish Stamp Set and cut them out and placed them on the card…
Lastly,I stamped the sentiment using white pigment ink on a wide strip of black cardstock and placed it on the card…

Happy Hedgehogs Wishing You A Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone….!!
Wishing you joy, happiness, peace and good health for today and throughout the coming year….from my home to yours…!!
I’m sharing my favorite card today..I used the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set from MFT for this card and used Christmas beanies from another stamp set to make them look Christmas-sy…
I chose a plain white card base for this card and die cut watercolour paper to size using cross stitched rectangle die…I then sponged in twisted citron, evergreen bough and candied apple distress inks on the top layer…I also splattered a bit of white watercolour on it….once dry,I ran it through my trusty old Cuttlebug using a WRMK next level embossing folder..
On a separate piece of cardstock,I stamped and coloured in the cute hedgehogs and their hats as well as a Christmas tree….I cut them all out and placed them on the card…
I stamped the banner style sentiment using blue ink and placed that onto the card as well….and to add a bit of bling I added some clear star sequins…
Hope you liked my card….it’s  my last post for this year…I’m so thankful for your support and blog visits this year and am looking forward for your visits and continued support in 2017…
Cheers,
