A Shaker Card And Three Shaker Tags

I love it when I can make a whole heap of different cards from just one or a couple of stamp sets…and I have done that using these MFT Once upon a time and Knight in shining armor stamp sets…today I was making just a shaker card but then thought the images would look cute on shaker tags…so made those as well..

For the card I chose a dark pink card base and a light green textured cardstock for the top layer…I embossed the top layer using the WRMK next level embossing folder and then started to prepare my shaker section…
The base of the shaker is white but has been sponged with mowed lawn Distress Ink..I coloured in cut out and placed the princess image on this layer and die cut a rectangle frame using some craft foam then added the sequins and closed the shaker using acetate…I die cut another frame from pink glitter cardstock and adhered it above the acetate and then adhered the whole shaker to the card front…
All I had to do now was to add the sentiment…I stamped it on a small label using pink ink and placed it on the shaker…

And these are the tags that I created after making the card…I was very surprised how quickly I was able to make these …

I first die cut three tags from water colour cardstock and sponged the edges using Distress Oxide inks…I have used wilted violet, broken china and cracked pistachio here…

Next,I stamped and coloured in the images on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut them out before adhering them onto the tags…

Then using plastic pockets and my fuse tool,I created the shakers and filled them up with various star sequins and sealed the pockets…I added matching ribbons and sentiments onto these tags and they were ready…

PS Woofers And Tweeters – For My Best Pal

I’m sure I will be using the Paper Smooches Woofers And Tweeters stamp set quite a lot but for now this is the last of the 6 cards that I have made using it….I have spent a bit of time on this card and created the colourful background for this card using distress inks and a fun technique taught by Jennifer McGuire called – Masked Stripes
The card base is plain orange and the top layer is white on which I have created the stripes using distress inks…I then die cut three polaroid frames from white cardstock and stuck them together and used a photo sleeve to create the shaker element which I placed behind the polaroid frame….
The sentiment is stamped directly on the polaroid frame….I have cut out a coloured in image of the cute dog and placed a few presents on the tip of its nose and placed these on top of the shaker pocket….
I really like how the colourful stripy background turned out….hope you do too…
Thanks for visiting today…Have a lovely & blessed day ahead….Happy crafting…!!

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

I love creating shaker pockets for cards, bookmarks or tags….and today I’ve tried out a shaped shaker pocket for a card front…this time I’ve tried to be very neat so that I don’t have to cover up the edges with a frame or embellishments…which also means that this card is not bulky at all and can be posted as standard post…
I started with a bright pink card base and a bright green top layer….I then created the shaker pocket using the fuse tool and a photo sleeve pocket which I filled up with lots of bright sequins before sealing it at the top…
I then attached the fuse pocket to the top of the card and added a scalloped border strip from pink foil cardstock over it…I used the same foil card stock to punch out a circle for the stamped sentiment as well as the die cut scripty ‘Happy Birthday’ word and placed these on the card..
Just realised that I did not add the dot on the ‘i’ from the die cut….also known as a ‘tittle’….I’ll add it now but there is no time to re-shoot… 🙂
Hope you liked this card…

Happy Birthday To Me :)

Yes,it is my birthday today….I don’t want to think about my age or growing old but I can’t wait to open the cards that my daughters have made for me…the cards they make for me are my most favorite  and precious possessions…
Today I’m sharing a shaker card….It had been a while since I picked up the fuse tool so thought it was high time I made one…The card base is plain red….I created a base layer which has been coloured in using distress inks and I splattered water on it for effect…I also stamped the sentiment near the top and placed it inside the clear pocket…the pocket is filled it up with sequin die cuts and other sequins and then sealed completely…
I then die cut a rectangular frame from gold foil cardstock and firmly adhered the pocket behind the frame before attaching it to the card base…
Finally I added a stamped, coloured in and cut out image of the little critter from Mama Elephant Three Amigos set and placed it on top of the rectangular frame….I think whenever I place the image inside the pocket,it’s hardly visible because of all the sequins inside it…
Hope you liked this card as much as I do….Thanks for visiting my blog…

Post#156 Shaker Money Pouch using Fuse Tool

Ever since I saw the tutorial for a shaker money holder/pouch by Vicki, it has been on the top of my ‘try to make’ list…..the only thing stopping me was that I didn’t have enough sequins to fill the pouch…so in the end I just couldn’t wait any longer and this is my first ever attempt…I’m sure I will try more of these when I finally am able to buy a big bag of sequins…but here’s the first…
If you click on the link and follow the tutorial video in Vicki’s post, you will understand how easy these pouches/money holders are to create with a fuse tool….
I actually placed the die cut and stamped sentiments inside the pouch, which I later realised that I shouldn’t have…anyways, that was the front of the pouch…..on the back of the pouch I simply stamped with white stazon ink…
To decorate the pouch I have used multi-coloured rhinestones….and to close the pouch at the top I have used a wide ribbon and closed it at the top using a gold string…
Hope you liked this…..

Post#135 Merry Christmas Green & Red Shaker Card

I made this shaker card using the WRMK fuse tool and a photo pocket…the card is not bulky at all which means that it can be posted normally with no extra postage or special packaging..

I started with a piece of green cardstock 5×12″ and scored the long side at 4″ and 8″….this is so that one section gets folded in to create the backing section for the shaker pocket….which also means that the section between the two score lines would be the front of the card and had to be die cut for the shaker to show through….I also die cut and embossed a thin frame from red card stock to go around the die cut space…

Once the shaker pocket was filled with sequins,I stamped an image of a scarecrow with white ink and attached the pocket at the back of the die cut space and glued in the backing section of the card….all that was left was to attach the stamped sentiment and the card was ready…

I’m quite pleased with how this card has turned out….hope you liked it too…

Post#92 Clear Shaker Invitation using Stampers Anonymous Cityscapes Set(New York)

So this is the fourth project using the Cityscapes stamp set and today’s stamp is of New York cityscape and I’ve managed to use the whole stamp for this one rather than a section of it…
I’ve had this idea of making a clear shaker party invitation for a while now…and once I saw the New York cityscape stamp, I knew exactly what I was going to make with it…
I started by stamping the cityscape image on the back of an acrylic pocket using stazon black ink…..adding sequins to the whole pocket would have made the stamp not stand out so I decided to make two sections….the top part is the shaker section filled with sequin stars….there is also a tiny tab section a the top where the tag can be attached…
I also stamped the word ‘party’ on the top section with white stazon ink…and the shaker section was ready…then I die cut a tag and created a background using the party word stamp repeatedly….then I stamped and heat embossed ‘you’re invited’ on the tag….I used ribbons and gold string to attach the tag to the clear shaker …
I had a lot of fun creating something different today…Hope you liked it..

Now that I have successfully tried out the WRMK photo sleeve fuse tool to make a tag, I tried to make a bookmark….bookmarks need to be quite flat and not bulky at all so I had to be careful about not adding any layers on the bookmark and also that the filling in the shaker pocket is quite flat and does not poke out to damage the pages of the book….

I took a narrow and long piece of paper to start with and folded it in half….then die cut a shape through both the layers…The plastic pocket sits between these two layers……I filled one of the bookmarks pocket with plastic flowers and the other with punched out 1/4″ circles from paper in various colours…
One of the bookmarks has a few beads on a ribbon attached to the top and the other has a tassel that I made out of bakers twine…
I wonder what else I can try out with the fuse tool….
Hope you liked these bookmarks…

Shaker cards and tags are so beautiful and I have tried making a few for Christmas last year…..but they were so bulky and thick due to all the craft foam added to create the shaker window, so i didn’t try making them again…till now….
The very amazing Jennifer McGuire has figured out a way to make these cards the easy way using  plastic pockets and the WRMK fuse tool…Here’s the link for her Window Shaker Card..Jump to 09:05 if you only like to see how she uses the fuse tool to create a pocket…

I used the largest eyelet squares die to create the tag base….then I created a shaker pocket separately using a plastic sleeve and WRMK fuse tool….I filled the pocket with some sequins and hearts and attached it to the square frame die cut from printed paper…before attaching this to the tag base,I added the die cut word ‘love’ to the base so that it shows through the clear shaker window…

A couple of hearts punched from red cardstock and a ribbon was added to finish the tag…
I had a lot of fun making this tag…Hope you liked it…
